  • really bad accent sorry

  • Most common is Mid Atlantic to Mid Western

  • Haha, I loved it. Havent laughed that hard in awhile.

  • hahahahhaha thats some funny shit

  • @sheametsfan6

Just like the USA, there are many different accents in Britain. I assume the British accent you are referring to is a posh English accent common mainly in southern parts

  • @alex123superface Theres the southern accent which yes you would probably call a bit posh , theres geordie which is a rough newcastle tyne accent , scouse , is a little hard to explain , just go to liverpool then theres yorkish they put a bit more emphasis on the o letter really , and thens theres cornish and northwest...

  • @Flamehawk1

Lol I know, I'm British. I'm actually from Devon, where people either speak with a less posh version of The Queen's English and the famous Devonshire accent. Oo arr me lovely!

  • @Flamehawk1

And if we're being technical, and talking about British accents as opposed to English accents, there are also several varieties of Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish accents, although in fairness since those countries are pretty small the variations tend to be more or less broad versions of themselves

  • Atrocity.

  • Keep working at it, you have potential...just try to remember that even different regions in the U.S. have several accents. There are roughly 183 different southern accents alone. A good one to listen to for Georgia is Holly Hunter.

  • The David line sounds Canadian.. Your Texan sounds like someone from Michigan..Shooting firearms while drinking Alchohol is a serious crime in the United State, and if you do it in a Federal Game Management area they will put you in prison and auction your vehicle and weapons.... Don't believe all the B.S.about American people on Youtube.. P.S. Our government, media has been hijacked and we the people are not in controll... America is not what it used to be and big changes are ahead....

  • New England/Northeast American accents are usually the most common.

    Look it up

  • awww.. good try buddy! : ) keep working on it

  • You really really need some work.

  • oh god whut?

  • It sounds a little like a mix of Texan and Ontario haha :) I guess just watch a lot of movies, yeah and try to copy exactly what people say. Just go line by line :) You can do it!

  • Sorry, but this was painful to listen to

  • your texan accent sucks im sorry

  • Do a New England accent please

  • I've lived in Texas all my life and I've never met anyone who sounds remotely like that. Honestly almost everyone I hear try to imitate a Texas accent do terribly. Including Texans from large cities where we sound pretty much the same as any other large city that isn't known for having a very distinct accent. I don't really know why people think we talk like John Wayne and Dolly Parton who were from Iowa and Tennessee anyway.

  • Awful.. lol sorry

  • that was a canadian accent. lol

  • omg... that was terrible american accents.... funny.... but terrible lol

  • Wow...that's...horrible. I'd actually say your Texas accent is your worst, not your best. You sound like someone from Scandinavia for chrissakes.

  • wtf lol

  • ur texas accent sounds like canadian or north dakota dontcha know

  • Your American accent was horrible, and so was your Texan one.

  • You need to listen to some American Country music, like Brooks and Dunn. Copy their accents if you want to sound Southern American/Texan. BTW, love your dimple!!!

  • Lolz this is too funny, at least you know ur bad. You sound sort of Irish? maybe? nah. Your regular voice is nice though...

  • blad! you gotta speak gangstaa first, then you can speak american blad... :)

  • Oh dear...sweetie...that hurt my ears.

  • i really have trouble understanding what ur saying in the beginning lol and holy shit that's a bad accent lmao but i love u for tryin

  • I think Americans are better at European accents than Europeans are at ours.

  • @yankeeh8r11 I know!! All my friends can do great accents but this guy is like... just terrible

  • the first one sounded more like a southern/texan accent

  • F. A. I. L..........you should try a Wisconsin or general American accent

  • you probably should have gone with a southern accent because it is easy to learn

  • that was awful.

  • Posh gits should never try other accents.

  • aaaww. nice try. i was laughing really hard. but then have to remember that i tried an english accent ... didnt work out so well. but nice try though :)

  • absolutely amazingly horrible, do not audition

  • fail

  • Some British accents sound like they come from retarded gorillas.

  • LOL texas sounded totally minnesota

  • ahaha you're cute.

  • Hell no he didn't get the part.

  • you look like a skinny Fat Bastard

  • Hahaha. You're funny and everything, but whenever you switched to an "American" accent you sounded like you'd gotten hit in the head with a baseball bat. The Texas one was on the road to being decent (with a looooot of work), but the first one you did was hilariously random and sounded like no natural accent I've ever heard in my life.

  • haha im American an your texas accent is really close jus one thing... HAVE BAD GRAMMER. dont say all the vowels in the words. leave out letters if you can. smooch words together like gonna, wanna, shoulda all Americans do that a little. but Americans from the south do it the most. like im American have lived here my whole life an get confused talking to Americans from the south. ....like WTF YOU SAYING!!!!! haha but yea the texas accent is pretty good. like how your talking in your throught.

  • Haha, I'm british, I'm in Texas right now, And the people i know over here don't sound much like that. But i'm guessing it's the area where i'm now living. I don't know.

  • i'm guessing you didn't get the part.

  • i'm guessing you didn't get the part.

  • I'm from North Carolina.. so I have a bit of experiance with such an accent : ]

The biggest thing is working on your vowels- for example, you must get rid of the british a... 'ah' in dance (d'ah'nce) for the American 'ay' in dance (d'ay'nce)

As you listen to the way American speak on the movies you watch, take some simple notes on the way the vowels change from British-English to American-English, that should help alot. You can do it!!!

    -Sarah

  • yeah also, that american you spoke about was right. if you live here (US) long enough, you can even tell what part of the state someone is from. like, i can tell by listening to someones southern accent if they are from the carolinas, texas or tennesee. what seems like a general ameican accent to a foreigner, can be many different things if you can pick up on the really insignificant nuances

  • dude...lol...your southern accent almost sounded canadian at some point

  • haha ... I live in Texas. But yours doesnt really sound anything like it, haha. I hope you learned enough to get the part though!

  • i get like so pissed when people say montana people have an accent......it just bugz the sh!t outta me

  • lmao, those are the most horrible american accents i've ever heard. it doesnt sound like any distinguishable accent...i think because u are over-doing it like many brit actors do- it makes you sound like a cartoon. listen to hugh laurie on house- he is one of the few brits that does a perfect standard american accent.

  • It's true. You can usually tell what part of the u.s. they're from by there accent. I'm from Tennessee but you'd probably think I'm from Texas

  • I asked a Texan about the Texas accent, he informed me Texas has got a lot of them. Illinois doesn't have a distinct accent, it varies according to which part of the state you're in that borders another state with a more distinct accent. Southern Illinois is Kentucky and Missouri. Southwestern Illinois is St. Louis. Eastern Illinois is Hoosier (Indiana). Western Illinois is Iowa (Midwest, General American). Northern Illinois is Wisconsin.

  • Dude FAIL

  • that sucks, im from america and if you talked like that in Texas you would get shot, no one talks like that in Taxas anyway

  • @TheSweetteen16 YOur correct, nobody talks like that in Texas, but nobody shoots people for talking different either

  • Without a doubt, the purest American accents are from Nebraska, and nearby states, Most DJs come from here. I think, the best spoken English of any country, comes from there also. No, I don't live there, but in the Northwest, which is quite good. If I lived in England, I could not learn the accent. The best way, other than living in the place you want to imitate, is to be very dedicated to the goal, and either practice so much or use a dialect coach.

  • The most common American accents are the southern accents (there are different ones). There are about 100 million Americans who live in the southern states (Texas/Oklahoma to Georgia up to the Mason-Dixon line). However, southern accents are not the ones typically portrayed in media.

  • horrible

  • With no personal attack on anybody, this guy clearly comes from the north of England where they really do talk like this -- it's the English accent rarely ever broadcast in America since the metropolitan part of England is further south. When it is publicized, though, it's never for long; watch the extras (like Nevill Longbottom) in the Harry Potter films and you'll get a glimpse. :)

  • @Pamebellezza Yeah, thanks for explaining that.

  • Yup, pretty bad. lol

  • no one in texas talks like that....

  • both accents are really bad.

    just practice! =]

and its not a "texan" accent

    its a southern accent lol

    good luck =]

  • dude what with the posh thing no one sound like that in england not in london oxford no where that is a made up accent by you

  • He's English. dsqe2 Not every Englishman is the nationalist jerk that you are.

  • I actually think your american putting a english accent on it hurts my ears to listen to you

  • Texans say funny stuff like "This here" and "That there" and "It don't make me no nevermind" and "I'll Tay you whut"

  • It kind of sounds like you are from Canada and New Zealand at the same time when you do the Texas accent.

  • Englosh people don't say every single T, tryhard.

  • Your "Texas" accent was creepy.

  • oh my god dude, none of your accents are any good. your texas accents sux dude hahahaha. im not from texas but damn you got a lot of work to do

  • You should get a haircut, because your hair just looks dirty now :(.

  • Terrible

  • yeah, not all texans talk like that, only in some small towns, where everyone drives dodge rams and goes huntin and drinkin. unfortunately thats where I live

  • @mistacannonball

I don't think it was a very good Texan accent at all. lol

  • @mistacannonball Sounds fun

  • P.S. Americans do not say "America" do describe their country (our country). We say "the U.S."

  • @femmefatale1990

Not true, dahling. I say America, I never say U.S.

  • @LOLFanme WHAT?! Really?! what state are you from? I'm from Chicago and we never say "I'm from America". It just sounds so foreign. As if we're from colonial times.

I hate to say it but when I hear those pageant girls say something "In America...." it just sounds dumb to me. I mean, there's North, Central, and South America. It's like saying that you like the "British accent" when a Brit can be English, Welsh, Scottish or someone from Northern Ireland.

  • @femmefatale1990

Be that as it may, I personally have always said America. I also happen to fancy a nice british accent too (primarily English), but I see your point to some extent :-)

  • @LOLFanme Yeah after doing some research I guess it is considered acceptable to say it, but it's not correct lol.

  • @femmefatale1990

Well, maybe not politically anyway, dahling :-)

  • @LOLFanme LOL, guess not...I'm gonna try to say that in front of my sister's "America" and see if they say anything lol. Maybe it depends on the region you're in.

  • @femmefatale1990 Everyone's got their circles, and you clearly got your politically correct one. It's ludicrous to say Chicagoans don't use *America* in the sense of *US*. It's even more ludicrous to say that use is incorrect. Most words have multiple meanings, and America the country is overwhelmingly established usage. If I named my daughter America, would you refuse to call her by her first name because it could refer to other things?

  • @androkyle Yeah, you're right. I guess I am trying to be politically correct, but it has always sounded *stupid* to me...can't help but feel that way. I guess, it's because I'm used to hearing people say "well, in America..." with this horrid valley girl voice.

I did read that it is considered ok to use it but...meh! I'm stubborn and refuse to use it.

  • The most common American accent? The Standard American accent is the Midwestern accent. The one you hear people in our news speaking in.

roll your R's. pronounce your T's like D's (lol)..ummm what else?...grrr just watch videos from a voice coach on here about speaking in an American dialect and select the main differences. Write those down and then mimic a specific actor if you can.

  • @femmefatale1990 Missouri baby!

  • wow that's the worst I've seen.

  • Did you get the part?

  • Lol. Good try. :D

  • Your Texan accent is much better than your Standard one, but still, you need a LOT of practice if you want to convincingly play an American.

By the way, for a non-American, "East, West, and Texas" is not too bad of a generalization. Though you may want to study the Boston accent, as it's a bit closer to British than Standard and so may be easier for you to work with.

    -IMP ;) :)

  • hahahaha

  • You seem to have a very common problem. You highly exaggerate the accent, at least in my opinion. Don't try to force it out, if you know what I mean. You're on the right track. Your texan accent is too thick for the majority of the people who live there.

  • that wasnt bad, just keep practicing, and then you'll have that american accent in no time!

  • Your Texan accent is strangely reminiscent of Jack Nicholson. Try watching clips of American news anchors... regardless of their region, they will usually put on a "standardized" American accent... check out stations like King 5, Komo 4, and Kiro 7.

  • when he attempted that accent i just burst out laughing hahaha

  • That was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Im from Texas and we don't even sound close to that. That sounded like a bad 1920's Western Movie!

  • your American accent is more backwoods of Canada....so keep practicing. Btw--the Texas accent sounds awful. I'm from New Jersey, despite the fact that it's a very small state we have about 3-4 distinguishable accents. Not to mention NYC 5 boroughs and 5 different accents. Americans have many different accents in general. Try to go for a Mid Western accent. I hear those are easier to duplicate. quick tip: Southerns speak slowly. Northerners more quickly

  • is obama american!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nightkingist Erm he's the president isn't he? I'd sure hope so!

  • Take it from an American Palestinian expat....you just gotta chill a little.....think Mr. T

  • Wow.... do not do any more American accents.. Please... Please... Please...

  • Your American accent is way better than Christian Bale's.

  • I hope you were kdding, man.

  • Your American sucks SO bad.

    XD

I don't care where you're trying to be from. LMAO.

  • LOL

  • omg, that was horrible!!!! xD no offense!

  • is this really american ? or australian

  • Comment removed

  • is obama american????!!!!

  • Obama is American. He speaks with a Chicago accent.

  • @endofscene ....

This guy is clearly English. You just find hard to believe because he's not bashing the US like most of you nationalist hypocrites.

  • @fitz207 Yes well I think you might be right. I've never heard such a weird English accent before, though. He seems like a bit of an idiot.

I am no nationalist. I'm not even English. There are pros and cons to every country, including England and the USA.

  • Comment removed

  • thats fukin arizona dumbass

  • Lol, maybe a texan from a beer commercial. but i don't think we texans sound like that.

  • that was texan at all..yeahhh no.

  • hahaha!!!!! lol!!

  • LOL, no offense .... but that was bad....

  • LOL that was a good laugh... wonder if you've gotten any better with that.

  • omg that was horrible...lol......

  • lol you can barely pull off a british accent! lol

  • sounds Scottish

  • omg dude u need some work try moving to america for 2 years i promis u will have it down perfectly kepp trying

  • hahahaha i loved it! but im from texas and im sorry i dont really know anyone with that accent, hardly ever do you find someone who sounds like that(:

  • I live in Houston, Texas and I can tell you that the "Texan accent" only is spoken by a small percentage of individuals. In fact I used to know someone with a "Texas accent" and she was constantly made fun of for it.

  • Haha... I love you.

  • Bad indeed. Funny though. Texas is getting......somewhat close.

  • lol i have a friend from texas and he actually doesn't have too much of a texas accent. and yeah not too good

  • Haha your American Accent is quite funny! But i love it! You should watch some American videos and try to imitate the accent.

  • the southern accent sounded.....i dont even know man xD, well kudos to you for practicing, keep trying!!

  • if you wanna do a believable American accent stick with west coast it will sound more "normal" i guess. think Paul Walker and try not to get too country like Mathew Mcconaughey

  • The generic american accent that most people in the U.K. are familiar with is the one thats popular in the Midwest, so really try to say your R's, and try not to enunciate on the O's.

  • haha! NO!

  • Don't listen to all the haters on here! Kudos to you for practicing and for making such a great effort! Anyways your British accent is lovely!

  • your accent sucks....sorry!didn't mean to offend!

  • The peaceful Faggot?

  • roflz that was awesome!!! haha and T1meW4st3d is right about the different accents in texas. i noticed that too when we got someone from way in the north of texas and everyone was asking him what state he was from. if your still looking for tips then just try to fit every word in the sentence into one word....

  • if you came to texas talking like that, we'd shit our pants laughing, that was the wierdest thing i've ever heard, lol.

  • Whoa you sound like Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Also, your Texas accent isn't much better than the first, which means it's really bad.

  • hahaha so freaking funny!

  • lol it seems so weired, cuz for me the english accent is really hard but it doesnt feel like i have an accent

  • sounds like a slightly drunk Stuie Grifffen sometimes and to high pitched and nasal. I'm from Austin TX and i have never heard an accent like that, btw texas is so big that there r different accents in the state. Austinites don't have thick accents, but if u go out to west TX u can deff hear a change. keep at it though and look up Georgia the accent.

  • hahahah that was definitely the worst accent impression ever.

  • just go for the california accent and I don't mean dumb surfer r valley girl! My god, I am sick of that...

Play it safe; the accent of most major american films

  • Um yea worst american accent ever. Youre really offending texas lol they don't sound retarded.

  • ha ha that was awful!

  • hehe that was pretty funny. But it sounded REALLY nasaly and kind of stupid.

  • The "Texan" was nasaly, sounding more northern, funnily enough.

Try to talk in a plain, lower voice, enunciate clearly.

  • i'm from cleveland, ohio. they say that the midwest accent is the most common an actor should have. so yeah, focus on "r" and vowels. our vowels make different sounds than yours, obviously. i know this video has been posted for a while, so this advice is a bit late, but better late than never :) hope everything worked out well for you!

  • ehh... try talking a lot more monotone and less shakey. emphasize your r's more.

  • gritings frum arkkasaw weez luv you alll

  • Sorry dude, that was really horrible. It sounded almost Canadian-Irish. One thing I did notice is that if you fixed the way you pronounced your a's, you'd be much better at the accent.

For example, the name "David." When you pronounce it, it sounds more like "DEE vid." If you could manipulate your voice to make it sound more like "DAY vid, your accent would sound much better.

  • The most common: the west. Really flat a's, highly pronounced r's and our o's are not rounded. Probably the most boring and unattractive accent you can imagine. Not too interesting...

  • I live in Texas, and not really many people have that hardcore western accent here in the cities. The only time you really run into that is when your in the small towns.

  • I live in Texas to!

And are accents really aren't southern at all.

  • so pretty much your not getting the part ey

  • i got a massetchusetts accent so i have a strait up american accent

  • uhhh, that sounded canadian...

  • ok people from texas dont talk like that when i think texas i think mexicans and maybe some people whove moved down from up north?

    try mimicking the southern accent

  • lol. I honestly wouldn't listen to all of the harsh comments others are saying. I bet they couldn't even do your accent.

I'm not a Texan, but 1 thing Americans do is pronounce 'T' like a 'd' so.. water = wahder. I can easily do the 'southern' accent, and like that 1 person said b4 me, pronounce your 'i's like 'a's so fire = faahheer. and sorry i know this is kinda late and all, but I thought I'd still give you a tip. lol.

  • I just don't get people saying oh it's 'awful'. The guy is trying so give him at least credit for that. I think it would be far more hilarious to watch a Texan tryin a British accent. bahahahaha

  • wtf. that was terrible. i know someone from texas and he doesn't sound like that at all.

  • Sorry man, but the Texan accent was pretty terrible. I am from Texas and though I don't have a Texan accent, I have had plenty of time to observe it. So here's what I've observed:

The days of the week like Monday Tuesday ... are pronounced "MUNDEE" "TUESDEE" and so on. Also, words with I in them like FIRE and MICHAEL are pronounced with more of an "A/AH" sound tha
