This is gr8,i had the pleasure of supporting peter, back in the mid 80,s,when he played the cliffs pavillion,i was in a band called The business, what a fantastic player, and a lovely guy,i had a chat with him backstage, and he advised i listen to some sax players, and use some of their phrasing techniques to incorporate into my playing !!!
Excellent, give him my best,i actually found a valeno copy guitar, made by a chap in new york,we were visiting my son who lives in chicago, above the chicago music exchange a gr8 shop, with vintage and unusual guitars and amps, and saw it hanging on the wall there, they got it down and let me play it,being a fan of peter,i was thrilled to have a go,although, this one had really heavy gauge strings, with a thick wound third,so it wasnt too easy to play !!! anyway,as i say, give peter my regards.
Absolutely wonderful. Was that Martin Turner from Wishbone Ash's brother, Glen that pete introduced at the end? It looked like a Westbury from Climax's flying the flag days that Pete was playing, but if so, it looked like it had a different neck. Thanks for posting this, and I look foreward very much to any future releases. I really got into Climax around the time of flying the flag, but my vinyls are all worn out now and no sight of a CD issue either. Typical of record companies.
Glad you injoyed it. There are more great vids to come. If you like Country Hat, then stay tuned for "Livin It, ReMastered" This will be released in the next few months, and will inclued Counrty Hat!
Wow, so cool, to see Pete Haycock here. Saw him live in the mid of the 70th, with the Climay Blues Band, one of the first live concerts i saw, he played Country Hat, so powerfull - it blows me the head away! Fortunaltly to heare on the "FM Live" Album too.
Thanks for posting this clip! Man, I always LOVED when Pete would play that song Live on the many occasions I saw him blow the roof off whilst fronting the Climax Blues Band. Even though there are a few guitarists making a name for themselves with the slide guitar (Sonny Landreth and Derek Trucks among them), Pete Haycock's still THE MAN in my book, and I'm so glad he's back on the road with his awesome new band, Pete Haycock's True Blues! Keep it coming, Pete, and please tour the U.S. soon!
This song is "Country Hat" from the Climax Blues Band 1970 album "A Lot of Bottle" -- but which was done much better when recorded live by Pete on their "FM Live" album from 1973. I think it's an even better version than this video. You can get the remastered CD of "FM Live" on Amazon...
I certainly hope the copy you can buy on Amazon is a legal one and not a bootleg as ALL bootleg copies of Pete's work are about to be investigated, and those found to be selling said bootleg copies will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
On the subject of bootlegs, are there any plans as of yet to release 'Flying the Flag' and 'Lucky for Some' on CD, or in the very least make them availabe to purchase from download?
I don't think many people can touch Pete Haycock's slide playing after all these years, he's still got what it takes and hopefully he'll bring his tour to the US next year....I know all the guitarists (especially Blues) in the NYC area that I know wouldn't miss him!!

Glen Turner is not Martin Turner's brother. Pete is playing a Gordon

I don't think it's a bootleg. The ASIN is B000F1IPRO.
