OK guys while I support the mystical tradition including Gnosticism but some of the historical claims you make are a bit sketchy. Sir Isaac Newton is now known to have been a very active alchemist. He also invented calculus to explain what he alone discerned and wrote in a single volume the conception physics. Are we going to say he did not see that alchemy was a symbolic cover for a spiritual practice of Gnosis? Is is possible you all are reaching or over simplifying here?
Gnosticism, which isn't a term gnostics used to identify themselves, is about acquaintance (gnosis) with the animative principle, that is, the phos zoe (light of life). What prevents us from having communion with this principle is attachment to the carnal body. The carnal body is really the cross (arms extend, feet together). The soul or animative principle (phos zoe) is nailed to it. Anastasis is spiritual separation from the carnal body or cross attaining a body of spiritual light.
It is truly refreshing that the sins of the Catholic Church has come to light now is the time for all of Jesus` teachings to become mainstream. That the new testament is just a drop in an ocean of knowledge that Jesus taught. It has been a never ending path that these text put me on and been leading towards self-actualization.
Gnosticism has always existed. The first forms of spirituality originate from shamanism. Shamanism is the original pre-historic version of gnosticism. Over time, as civilization came into being, gnosticism became prominent in many mystical movements with organized religion. Jesus was of course one of these spiritual elders. Buddha can also be said to be gnostic as well. Sufism in Islam, Kabbalah in Judaism, Vedenta in hindusim, many sects of buddhism, and of course gnostic christianity. Ect.
It is great to see this information on youtube. The mystery schools never died out. Only texts were lost and some have been rediscovered. You can't stamp out gnosis because people always seek the truth.
So....the Bible is actually messed up? The teachings of Jesus weren't really suppose to be associated with the Hebrew texts? His teachings got into the wrong hands and got associated with the Old Testament? That seems to make so much sense...although I don't fully understand yet.
Very interesting. I have read a few of Gnostic texts like Peter, Judas and Mary. Im looking at The gospel of Thomas at the moment, seems to be alot of sayings that Jesus spoke. The gospel of Judas was hard to read as it has quite alot missing. The Gospel of Mary has the first 6 pages missing and then 2 more near the end.
Looking at the name spelling is very important. Bel-ze-buub which she mentioned in the video is different from the name spelling of the demon spirit Be-el-za-bub or bel-za-bub or be-al-za-boah whom i think you are refering to, there is no correlation between the two names whatsoever. You can check it for yourself. I hope this helps.
Wow so if thine people don't believe exactly the way we do-- the holy ones, the rulers, the politicians... burn them. How things change but stay the same....
very simple way of explanation's its true there are different types of peopl
ppl who are so radical about their belief that they never want to come out of the box & not even consider a slight possibility that anything beyond their belief exist
ppl who are curious about it but they are afraid to try it becoz of the fear of punishment
ppl who will go to the end of the world to find the truth
Gnostics are belong to last part....
amazing that we have the freedom now to say what we feel
As Quran states in Chapter 112: (In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful), (Say:He is Allah, the One and Only), (Allah, the Eternal, Absolute), (He begetth not, nor is He begotten), (And there is none like unto Him)....Furthermore Allah says in Quran: Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest! (Chapter 13 verse 28)
That sounds kind of complicated..a more simple and effective route to self purification and ascension is , to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior .
Once you do that , you can start experiencing the presence of God , through His Holy Spirit .
Problem is , many Gnostics pupu the idea that there is such a thing as "sin" , self-destructive , spiritually corrosive paterns of thought and behavior .
yes yes yes persecution is bad, so... next! what do you teach!!???? this video gives me the impression of a repetitive justification about alternative gospels, that OK well WHAT DO GNOSIS TEACH??'
Hi Sharetrue, it explains on the channel page that the rest of the Secret Quest series goes into the Gnostic teachings and practices:
"Secret Quest I: The Path of the Christian Gnostics" is the first episode in a 3-part series on Gnostic Christianity, and has been divided into three segments to go on YouTube. The rest of the series explores the Gnostic texts... and reveals the practices Gnostics use to acquire hidden knowledge."
find a Gnostic association near you. And read books from VM Samael or Helena Petronila blavatsky. If you are only interested in concepts, then you will never know what it is about. They will tell you what others have done, and teach you how to find yourself so you can experience Gnosis( knowledge).
@ sharetrue: Gnoticism teaches us to find the truth through the words of Christ, which Christ encourages us to know ourselves, which is natural for us to do because only we know our own individual experience and the truth (divine) that lies within; however complicated it is. Nonetheless, we have a guide through the full message of Christ and knowledge that is here for us to find if we seek. Ask and you shall receive.
This is so bad! But the negative can be positive too. I China the confucians tried to whipe out taoists with their writings without success. Like taoists some western mystics did receive immortality through alchemy. The body of resurrection is a spiritual body of antimatter.
One will note from playing 'quidditch'. There are many 'beaters' on the 'field' of the ether...but only one seeker attempting to catch the 'golden snitch'.
There lies a subtext in much that is considered 'science fiction' and 'fantasy'...to evade the same old censors, from the same old invalidity.
Thank you, very clear and well presented. I still doubt the actual existence of a flesh and blood Jesus, but this is irrelevant, if there is a truth then it must come from within and I can see how the figure of Jesus is symbolic of the inner transformation required of us in order to come to that truth. It is tragic that Christianity should have been hijacked and used so cynically. It shouldn't at my age but the hypocrisy and ignorance still staggers me.
That's like saying non-astrology caused the Holocaust and the Napoleonic Wars, because Hitler and Napoleon were non-astrologers.
The communists killed in the name of communism, not atheism. The fact that they were atheists was beside the point.
Whereas religious people kill SPECIFICALLY in the name of god.
And religion is the 'weapon', not the people. Just open the Bible and read the endless passages of stoning, slavery, genocide, human sacrifice, rape and eternal hell fire.
an individual may believe they kill in war for religion, but groups don't, all doctrine ending in war is political to increase wealth and power (the same thing)religion in such cases is just a tool to motivate the individual to his master's bidding
How are they even people after everyone they have killed? The call everyone else 'heretic' but they should look in the mirror. You are thinking of the Hebrew god from the Torah. At least the Gnostics I read somewhere believe that Jesus wasn't son of Hebrew god. But the wrong people abducted Jesus's message killed millions. Well the mess of Judao Christianity makes a bit more sense now.
man religion hu? it keeps comming back. thats what the jesus story ment. tought i was gone well im back beeeaaatch. if every religion were forgotten people would just make up a new one. im leaning towards the wolfman in the earmyself
Of what I've read, Samael reached mastery at a later age, and the selected books mentioned were written during the time he was completely awakened.good luck
In my research I found that Samael Aun Weor(his inner name) was teaching since the age of 17 at the Gnostic Chrurch and was considered a higher being. One of his first books was "The 3 Mountains" - the way to the Absolute. So how can a being that has reached the absoloute make mistakes? That makes no sense....In my research I found that Samael told this about only keeping the five books secretly to Rabolou and then Rabolou spreaded that. This is mighty suspiciouss don't you think?
'The Three Mountains' was written in 1972. It was one of his last books. In it he claims to have finished the second mountain, and says that he is reffering to memories of an earlier incarnation in the later section (Third Mountain).
He clearly made errors in his earlier books, as he himself clarifies some of them in his later ones.
As with the first 2 in the series... Brilliant. Many thanks for posting this series of videos. It's great that the truth is now so accessable to all, especially considering how things were in the past. I just that hope more people take this on board and practice it.
This 3rd part was just as good as the first two. Thanks to those who put it all together and posted it here on YouTube.
Ya gotta love the internet sometimes. People were burned at the stake due to being gnostics and their information suppressed and almost wiped out but here we are today able to access it all freely on the internet. :)
That's a good conclusion to the other two videos. I'm really interested to see what the rest of the four part course is about! So many innocent men, women and children have been controlled and murdered throughout our history and yet these tyrants have always managed to hide the truth from the masses.
Yeah, that's bizarre! I wonder if it's because it's all in the name of religion which can almost seem 'unquestionable' sometimes. Maybe too because if the people who oppose the church or the inquisition etc are all wiped out, and afraid to speak out because it means persecution, then the oppressors can write the history books and tell the masses what they want too or control them with fear of doing the wrong thing and going to hell. Then the bad stuff that's happened eventually is forgotten..
Wonderful video and so inspiring to know, really know that this longing to unite with the Divine is within each of us, not a particular group or elite. I am really glad to see these videos out there. Thank you!!
The Alchemists and different mystical orders have always intrigued me. I wonder how it would have been to have had that longing to find something more and to try to find mystical information and practices at a time when it had to be kept totally secret. I hope that the people looking at those times were actually able to find it.
In reflecting on the history of it all, I'm very grateful that the Gnostic teachings are given so openly, simply, and clearly today. I hope that they can continue to be, and most importantly, that all of us who do find them can make good use of them.
Is a religion fulfilling its purpose if it tries to extinguish what is supposed to provide to man/woman? It looks like the light needs to shine, and it does not matter how strong some tries to extinguish this fire, what matters is that the reverse effect can happen and it can rise as strongly, good for the seekers, bad for the believers.
This was definitely my favorite part of the 3. I like the idea that this information can't be extinguished... it is something that we have inside of all of us. I'm very thankful to have discovered Gnosis and that it is taught so well today. Thanks for posting this!
