She wanted to end it. That's her choice. If she wasn't 'in love' with David, & was unhappy, then she needed to end it. You can't stay in a bad relationship just because it will hurt the other person for you to leave.

Though she should have straight up ended it with David. Instead of finding the other guy, not having the guts to end it with David and kinda seeing them both and what not.

supposedly johnny galecki was on another show at the time he appeared on roseanne, & on that show his name was david. They wanted the character to be named david but didnt want viewer confusion so they named him kevin. once the other show he was on went belly up, they changed his name to david.
