Hey Chris! It's Mike Musgrove. What a treat to run across this! I was thinking about you and Mitch Crane...thought I'd try Youtube and....voila!!! Hope you still have a finger in the music pie!
Back in the early 80's when I was buying up Yes, Genesis, & Crimson records, I bought an AIA record with a cool painted cover. I returned it the same day, because it didn't sound just like Yes? Talk about young and dumb! In a very haunting way, I've regretted returning that record ever since, and would buy it for keeps if I see it again.
Take it from me, if you buy a record and you don't dig it immediately, just put it away. You might change your mind and end up really enjoying it later on.
Marvelous! Nice to see a live, "rockier" take on the classic songs!
I always notice the lyric, as much as anything else in a song. Back when I first heard this, the world out there was not run by laser light--and twenty years later, with bar codes and DVD players--it is . . .
Is Chris prescient, or did he just read the same science fiction I did? ;)
I didn't even know what progressive was until I saw "Father" performing some Genesis tunes at the Alley Eye night club in East Lansing, MI back in the late 70's. I even introduced myself as a novice drummer to Doug and loaned him my "Synare" so he could check it out.
"Father" became "Art in America" some time later and I've followed them whenever I could. Many years later, I'm now a full-fledged progressive music connoisseur. Thanks for the years of great music AIA!
I thought I might be the only person in the world who remembered this band & had their album back in the 80s! wow, *flashback*

What an EXCELLENT BAND. Wish them the best, and hope they are still playing together. Chris Flynn RULES.
