Beatmaker 2 (Akai MPC FLY?)

How do you record samples straight into beatmaker 2 in stero quality like that?? transfering samples through the ipod option or computer is too draining. Help me out bro!!

@MitchMatch5 using the irig you can quickly sample a massive amount of sounds. I tried it using the iPad option and it sucks big time.

I was looking on recommendation at the Mascine.But as a die hard Mpc user i am also looking at the new range but.....after having the Beatmaker 2 app on my phone for about a year i dont see how beatmakers have slept on it.It does more than the Maschine app and that virtual studio put together.On the ipad it must be flawless.Is there a resolution problem on the ipad as there usually is between iphone/ipad apps ?

@mistadexter I've only had this for a couple of weeks and it looks great on the iPad 2 and my I touch 4. I am a die hard mpc user as well and that is why I am glad about the akai mpc fly

Have had beatmaker 2 on my iphone 4 for a while now.Coming from the 3000 and the 2000 mpc i must say that this app is well worth the money.The way you can sample and chop from any source including your itunes library and share straight from your phone is perfect.Yeah its an amazing app.

@mistadexter Don't even mention what I have been doing on my I touch. Chopping, beatmaking, I'll baselines. I believe people in the beat community do not take beatmaker 2 as a serious contender. I am here to tell you, it is no joke. I actually like it better than the mpc 500. I am waiting on mpc fly though, that looks dope. 1

@santaclause163 - you have to use a device like IRig...to turn the IPAD's output into the input and you can easily record samples into beatmaker. 1

@TheReggiereg1 Nice work man!BTW,the Alesis IO Dock is a great beatmaking companion for the Ipad.I just picked one up on Friday at Guitar Center.It is on sale there as well as the Akai Synthstation25($39:)I plan to run the outputs of the Synthstation into the Alesis and use it as a synth./sample source for Beatmaker on the Ipad.

Very cool vid and must say you have put BM2 to more use then I have (mostly because I have other music apps). There was a question posted on the Synthtopia Facebook page about mobile devices replacing Home Studios. While it may not be a replacement to a home studio, it damn sure works and get's the job done when your on the go or don't want to have deal with big equipment.

I have most of the Beat Makers for iPad , BeatMaker,NanoStudio,iMaschine and Garage Band are the Best. Get Animoog ,trust me on that one!!!

You can use WAV for samples too, they just added Drop Box integration!!!! WAV or AIFF!!!

Really glad you got to reviewing this! As a teen on a lunch money budget, and career as a producer in mind, I was looking at this app for the iPad I got for Christmas. I think this may be a good investment, and the next best thing to having a solid hardware MPC. Thanks for the review, awesome sampling!

@LexOnTheWeb - What you just said is one of the main reasons I went with the Ipad. There are several apps dedication to music production for less than 10 dollars. The 20.00 for beatmaker 2 is an excellent investment. No doubt and have fun with your creations.

@SoundsAndGear - have you loaded any other programs besides beatmaker 2? I am using a program similar to Sony Acid where you can snap your beats in place with auto beatmatching feature. This allows me to make those fresh megamixes using the instrumental then go back and add the pellas on top.

@SoundsAndGear BM2 and Ipad are incredible!It will be really crazy when the Akai MPC Fly drops since it is core midi compliant it will work with not only the Akai/Retronyms app. but BM2 and Nanostudio as well!
