In my experience, no amount of "blocking" can keep my cat from getting at something she wants. There are things inside of locked rooms, buried under piles of other things, that somehow end up in my cat's possession. I come home from work, the door is still locked, everything inside is still in place, and yet there it is. In my cat's mouth.
