also i think its getting worse, now it bounces back even more, if I let it stop at 20-30 seconds mark, it would bounce back to like "55 mins mark" then back to the top
@kaidiau That is too far. Sounds like the resetting mechanism could do with a tune up then. I'm not quite sure how the stoppers on the reset for the 7750 is set up. I would visit the AD where the watch was first purschase and let them have a look at it. :)
@rousp1 its getting even worse now, ughhh ......but thank you very much for all the help, I wasnt even quite sure if that was normal, but now I'm definitely taking the watch back to the place where I bought and have them check out
@rousp1 that's what I thought too, maybe they might say theres nothing wrong, but I just want it to be perfect since it's one expensive watch to me lol yes it is, other than that, my watch is perfect, keeps the time very well ;) love it
@kaidiau In a world where you can get a digital watch for 9 USD a Longines is surely an high end watch. =) The valjux 7750 is a tried and tested design, so good timekeeping is expected with these. :)
@rousp1 yeah true, I'm planning to buy a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calipre 36 swiss replica for like 300ish dollars or so, so I can wear my Longines less since it's the most expensive watch I've ever owned lol (i'm only 19 so yeah long way to go haha) and the replica would be the second most expensive lmao, but i've heard those swiss made replica are really nice
@kaidiau only fake people wear fake watches ... For 300USD you can get a really nice asian or russian mechanical watchs. Seiko, Seagul, Vostok and Orient to mention a few. Do yourself a favour and log on to watchuseek [dot] com and browse their affordable section. There is so mutch nice to be had for 300 USD.
And your age isn't an excuse for wearing a fake watch, I started out with watches when I was 19, with something far less fancy than a Longines. =)
by the way, i just found out after I use the chrno function, I press the lower button to make it go back to 12, the second stick (hand) shakes, like it would bounce it back to like 57-58 mins mark pass the 60 mins mark in a very short fraction of a second but I can still see it, then it would bounce back to 12 where it starts...I dont think my watch does that when I just go it, its only few months old, and now I'm worried to something or something is loose, unlike yours :/
@kaidiau Are you thinking of the minute counter on the chronograph? If so that is perfectly normal. When the chrono is reset the hands jump back in to position the kinetic energy is actually so high that the hands themselves flex. If you search youtube for "chronograph reset high speed" you will find a few cool videos demonstrating the effect.
@rousp1 thanks for the reply rousp1, but I'm actually talking about the "second counter", the longest and thinest hand, I understand the KE is very high when it resets, but the thing is i believe it didnt bounce back like that when I bought it, so does your watch, i dont know if I should bring back to the dealer and have them check it out
@kaidiau Did you do the youtube search and look at the videos? Does it look anything lik that? If it does, it's perfectly normal. Then my guess is that you just haven't noticed it before, usually is that way with watches. Discover new things along the way. ;)
@kaidiau Haven't seen the brown dial in person myself, but I like your thinking. If you do like the brown dial and don't worry about 2nd hand value (it's rubbish for Longines anyways) it's nice to have it simply because most people get the black or silver dial.
@rousp1 i havent yet seen the black dial one either lol but i love both any way, i think the black one is more sport because the red second stick and the red chrno button! dont worry i wont sell it, i got it for my birthday, it has a meaning so i'll keep it till i die haha
@georgegrasser what you say is complete non sense...rolex would sell you one of their watches without any problem if you still got enough cash to afford it...you can live where you want...
And that watch looks really sweet! I love the "clics!" that it makes, looks very well finished, a bit heavy maybe? I'm thinking of buying a Longines aswell, but a less expensive one, like a Conquest...
@spinaker38 With the 7750 movement it's quite thick, and therefor also quite heavy. But nothing you can't get used to. :) Good luck with your Conquest! Are you looking to get one new or used?
@georgegrasser Well.. Depends on what your references are... I would say that it is a status brand that offers value for money. So it's not up there with say Omega. For me personally I would prefer a Longines over a Tag Heuer. In fact I did, with this watch.
Depends on the location of the market. In Eastern Europe Longines is a status brand because that is what their market can not afford. Among the Swatch Group Longines is upper middle range above Tissot and below Omega. Omega is the real status brand in most developed markets with Breguet, Blancpain, and Glashütte Original as their connoisseur brand.
@qx1zed Well the reason why I asked was because not only was I able to afford to buy an evidenza from an authorized dealer, Longines does not seem to have an issue of who I was at the time of the purchase. My video, "George Grasser for Longines" shows my true living conditions at the time. If I were a fine Swiss watch manufacturer, I would be a little more than just displeased that a man living in a shack was able to acquire one of my timepieces.
@georgegrasser Well.. And I'm a student and considering a Rolex for my next watch.. It's all down to what you choose to priority... I think Longines would be pleased that someone care so much about their brad that it's a priority to get one, even when they live in a mobile home...
@rousp1 Hahaha, excellent! BTW nice Longines. Coincidentally, I've got a Speedmaster Day Date on the way from Belgium... It's a 1996 only preduction model so I don't get any box or papers... are you going to do an Omega unboxing? Just wanna see what I'm missing out on hehe.
in italy longines custom care service and assistance is good, for my experience.
Omega is beautiful but i don't know all their models. About old comments : were deleted by me!price i wrote was old, newest is in the last comment . Bye!
I bought my Grande Vitesse in Santa Monica, Los Angeles one year ago. I'm from Norway and saved the hole flight to LA and back compared to the Norwegian retail price. Now the dollar is low again. Time to fly:) I have to tell that my friend bought a watch first, and the salesman then became very friendly and easygoing:)
Don't tempt me.. Have had quite a few problems with this watch. I want to change it into something else. And a few family members are on vacation in California right now.. So I could make them pick something up...
I must admit that my experience didn't really suprise me. Swatch Norway is know for bad customer service. Just as Swatch Europe is known for rather wonky customer service as well.. Didn't stop me from getting a Omega thou.. Possible a new movie on the way. ;)
And: Sorry that I deleted the other comment from you, I pressed the wrong button. Don't know how to bring it back now..!
@rousp1 Now you can buy a longines watch directly from them on the longines website without a person in a store messing it up. I think that youre right somebody probably mis handled it in the store and did not know what they were doing.
Perfect video. Why can't more people make videos like this = silent all but the ambient noises, with no voice over and no music. Clear too. You go on my favourites.
I wish more people did silent unboxing videos, with just the ambient sounds of opening boxes, etc. They are generally ruined with either voice overs or music. Well done.
nice watch, but im happy with my 1980s Casio calculator watch

@FlyingSpartan I couldn't be happy with just a 80's Casio Calculator. That said, they are really cool in their own way. :p

Yes,i'm searching for this watch...
But i prefer buy it brand new ;)
A Longines is forever !
do you have a shop with website?
alfonso986 6 months ago
I sold it used for aprox. 800 euro. Longines is a bargain on the 2nd hand marked.

Hi, i also have a Grande Vitesse and i have a question - Does your date part stop between 2 dates and is impossible to move?
BlueBoxProductions 8 months ago
@BlueBoxProductions You date complication need a service. Probably because the date have been set when the watch was between 0900PM and 0300AM.

Well, used price are better value, but you don't know the state of the watch and all...so i think i'll get a new one...i'll save money a bit more :p
Tried one the other day...they really look great...almost prefered them compared to some higher priced breitling or louis erard...
This brand looks like great value for money and with a top end quality...even the entry level ones.... Thank you for those info!

Bad job at the menders

Longines assistance is good,
is very strange this case.
give your watch only in hands of Longines official store.
other assistence could only damage it.
