Yep, I've been reading about your remake at the usual spots round the net, and I'm curious to see how it turns out. It can be hard to know what to make of a remake until you actually play it, as there's always the question of how faithful it is to the original VS how it plays as a game in its own right. Either way, I'm looking forward to trying out the finished product.
Yeah I heard this game is really hard. But it doesn't look that hard. Mabye you just made it look easy. Someone is making a remake of this by the way.
It is pretty hard, but a lot of people tend to overstate the difficulty and make it sound like it's totally unfair or something. It isn't, it's just that you can't relax while playing it, which is how a good shooter should be.
It might look a bit easier here because I'm being careful to shoot most enemies before they get a chance to shoot at me. Eg: take those little four-spoked guys that zip onto the screen sometimes -- they'll drop a whole string of bullets if you don't take them out pronto.
Oh yeah, and the remake is looking interesting. That's what inspired me to put these vids up. People were moaning about the original being too hard... ;)
Haha. Yeah I decided to check YouTube for this game after first hearing about the remake, and yours was the only videos I could find. Now I know what to expect out of the real game. But anyway I you should give Ikaruga a shot. It is five levels that get increasingly harder. Another good shmup.
Ikaruga is great, but you know what? I suck at it! I have a hard enough time just staying alive, let alone trying to rack up black/white chains. Still fun though.
Haha I know. I will be honest I can't beat this game on Normal mode with one hand. But for some reason whenever I play the game now I don't have any levels and I can die as much as I want. It isn't fun when there is zero challenge at all. =[

Difficult game but very addictive. Polished graphics and superb gameplay.. A 5-star game. A gem for the commodore 64.

Yeah, I definitely prefer IO to Katakis. Katakis is technically impressive, but it feels a bit rushed and the bosses are dull.
