@baldbollocks Actually, I just found out he became Robbie Williams' producer and has been a major success! Hope that makes up for dropping out of Duran Duran just before they exploded onto the scene.
That's right, he was the Original singer for Duran Duran way way back....I bet he'll regret leaving them until his last dying breath. I like his song 'Hold Me' much better than this one..remember listening to it while I was dying my hair burgundy way back in 1984! Cheers Steve!
If Stephen Duffy never left Duran Duran.............
I think Stephen will truly regret Not writing Kiss Me,The Ups and Downs, Becos We Love You, making the Dr. Calculus LP and forming The Lilac Time, making more Duffy LPs and messing with ME ME ME and writing and producing for various artist like Puffy, Velvet Crush, Barenaked ladies, Robby Williams, etc. etc.
If Duffy stayed with DD, he would have certainly left after the first or second album. His talent and tastes are so eclectic that he would have clashed with the other members, especially with Nick.
Although it's cool that he and Nick collaborated for the Devil's project in '02. Also, I'm sure that Nick requires breaks from Simon's egotistical arse.
But is he the same Stephen Duffy that plays the awesome guitar solo on the Aimee Mann track "Should've Known" on the Jools Hollans show (reproduced on this very site)? The public needs to know.
this is a good video, but what happened to the mtv version of this song? the 80's video used to be on this website, but it must have been taken off. it was a favorite of mine and i miss it.
It's a biblical reference, silly. "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine." Song of Solomon 1:2. Do your research!
Great stuff, he's transformed a powerful 80's synth song into a folksy fireside singalong!

Duran Duran - they're cute and boring.

This is the guy who created Duran Duran with Nick Rhodes but then he was called Stephen 'TinTin' Duffy and he was the singer and not Simon Le Bon

Thanks for that, Mari! Brilliant stuff, but when was it done? SD mentions "A Taste for Honey" so it's not an 80's performance?!
