  • Are you suppose to place head around hips? So your neck moves against his hips to give lil help when your taking him down...

  • Personally, I prefer the single leg, but I also like the duck-under.

  • @thescottman25 the fireman/high crouch is Beast

  • my coach says to go only to one knee on the take down not 2.

  • @ePiCSn1P3Z i don't do wrestling, i do bjj but thats how my bjj coach taught it also, and i've asked wrestlers at my school and they have said to only go down to one knee also.

  • If you do the double leg correctly, your head should be right at his hips thus making a guillotine choke kind of difficult. The goal is to have the opponent perpendicular to you in the air so he lands on his side putting you in perfect side control.

  • Fuck wrestling, I'm learning this for self-defense.

  • @SeFu2006 wow

  • That is Fail sorry but it have one fault you must stay straight if you are duck...

  • i love how fast his shot is

  • Are there any wrestlers here who have any tips to avoid a guillotine choke when shooting in for a double leg? Its one thing ive always been worried about in jiujitsu.

  • @odessaboy One is pop there arms up before you shoot,or do it really really fast...lol good luck

  • @odessaboy just drill it in your mind that as soon as guys hit the floor, don't let him lock his legs around you and immediately start working to pass his guard. And try going for more single legs. so many ways you can finish them without leaving your neck exposed as much.

  • @odessaboy In addition to what jkullander said, if you keep your head glued to the outside of your opponent's hip during the takedown, he doesn't have enough room to get his arm around your neck for the choke. If he does get his arm around your neck, your best bet is to complete the takedown and move immediately to side control or, if it's more convenient, mount. He can't finish the choke if you're in side control or mount. If he tries to, he'll just tire out his arm.

  • @odessaboy the whole point of a double leg is to land on side control. if u have already learned the basics of jiu jitsu then you would know that the best way to get out of a guillotine choke is to pass to side control (which is already done for you have you finish the double leg takedown correctly). So all you really have to do is finish the takedown CORRECTLY to assure you land in side control.

  • also if you are able to -- make sure you avoid going to full mount because he is fully capable of sweeping you, and because of the way that your body is alligned with his he can still choke you out !

  • doubles are always tough if the opponent is tall, i always went for a single and hung on it for dear life until i dragged him to the mat

  • @sisudo21 LOL. thats wat i did my freshman year

  • @sisudo21 i find it easier if they're tall.

  • Watch "Double Leg Wrestling SLam Matt Conahan"

    Pretty insane

  • real wrestling is gay its just going in tights and grabbing other men

  • @DeightaRasengan you are gay for thinking about that. go watch wwe or something. if you were looking for gay porn you won't find it here. you think it's so gay then stop looking it up on youtube! if a gay guy looks straight that doesn't make him straight. if straight guys are in wrestling that doesn't make them gay. it will only look gay if you have no idea what's going on.

  • @DeightaRasengan

And dressing up in Speedos and rubbing your self in with baby oil like they do in WWE,TNA and all the other BS isn't?

  • @blackkid856 Yea lol but Im starting to like the wizard more it's how i won my last match.

  • @cloudclone99 WHIZZER* WHIZZER*

  • nice move very good

  • i do not like leg take downs, they can be easily controlled. A person must time it perfectly or risk being guillotined , for ex. i prefer to not risk it and go for a route with less risk and be more effective. Also, i think he should teach the students how/when to use it. hopefully he covered that after that lesson.

  • @imacrazycuz81 not necessarily, you wont get guillotined unless you drop your head, and rule #1 in wrestling, always keep your head up

  • this is a double dump. not a normal double leg takedown.

  • @KfXrIdEr450r Yea a double leg u stay down and drive with one leg and ur head and ui could lift as well

  • @KfXrIdEr450r right what is that guy talkin about.

  • @KfXrIdEr450r I took a double dump in the toilet the other day o.0

  • LOL. xihakuix looks like a blonde bitch...of course this HS kid doesn't know what he's talking about...he's an anime girly man.

  • Man we do this stuff everyday in wrestling, but favorite move would the cradle.

  • @cloudclone99 same man! I mess kids with it

  • its called knee that negro in the face.

    man this is weak

  • @xihakuix

Sure, if you had enough of a reflex time to do just that.

  • @BlurfSmurf if your reflexes aren't even good enough to do that, you should shoot yourself. unless you're a woman. and i mean one of those women that don't worry about fighting.

  • @xihakuix

You just seem like the type of guy who talks about how easy it is to block/counter that when you've never experienced that. Get on the mat and maybe you'll see.

  • @BlurfSmurf if it helps i took down the 2nd best guy at my school's wrestling team.

  • @xihakuix

That's great; I'm guessing he didn't have enough time to... knee you in the face?

Also, if it helps, I used the double-leg takedown in a streetfight, and the guy didn't have enough time or instinct to knee me. So, yeah. :D

  • @BlurfSmurf hey that's great, i certainly won't judge you for fighting weaklings. :)

  • @xihakuix

Sorry, I gotta clarify; a double-leg takedown usually takes your head out the comfortable range of a knee-strike (which is usually linear). You either hit this one with your head to the RIB-CAGE, which is higher than where your knee can strike, or a blast double that hits square in their solar plexus.

    Really, learn your facts. :)

  • @BlurfSmurf since you seem to like technical terms then please, define every purpose the human spine serves.

  • @xihakuix

I clarified my point on the positions of a takedown; you just seem to be stuffing your head up your ass even more. :P

  • @BlurfSmurf it's been entertaining trying to teach an idiot. well i'm moving on. good luck ^~^

  • @xihakuix

Haha, I just love how you don't offer any concrete arguments against the logic of a takedown. Well, have fun, bro. :)

  • thats weird i was taught to arch you back and to drop on you opponent not to push him

  • @bltzkrg852 You push (drive) and sweep to finish a good double leg. No need to arch your back.

  • LOL IS THIS NILES WEST????

  • @CarlitoJohnson

LOL! I guessed you are a retarded! Click on the left on your own name. It's your YouTube page, not mine...

  • ah, now I understand...

25 years suckling, you have done even 3 years of this and 3 of that, you post around teaching, you know how throw knees to became a real mma fighter, page with ufc and Bruce, of course any videos of you really doing something, the usual chatterbox...

  • Hi to all mma practitioner! I wasted time looking at aikido absurdity and now I need some solid and realistic techniques to recovery myself!

  • @ParkFight lol what the fuck? u go on youtube, talk about that aikido is shit, and ten how mma is a recovery for you. explain lol

  • @CarlitoJohnson are you really so retarded or do you fake only?

  • @ParkFight as fake as ur fighting skills. pretty amazing how u turned into a troll isnt it? ur saying mma is a recovery for u. seriuosly whos the retarded one. u go to mma for rehab...just get a third opinion to it, u are the retard mate

and btw if u think aikido sucks, then obviously u were doing it wrong, or u went a mcdojo. aikido is som serious shit for the street. anybody that doubts that has never been to a real aikido dojo with real aikidokas...

  • @CarlitoJohnson what's the hell with you? I was talking of videos... you are made man, fuck and treat

  • @ParkFight "you are made man, fuck and treat"

hahahahha do u have anything else to say? i suggest u think first before u write me an answer, because this is pretty embarrasing for you.

and seriously, u have no respect for aikido. now u go to mma, think its effective, talk about how it is a recovery for u, and now act all tough on the internet, now that u think u can actually fight and do something. for ur information im doing mma as well, and i have done 3 years of karate, but i never talk trash

  • @CarlitoJohnson ah, now I understand...

25 years suckling, you have done even 3 years of this and 3 of that, you post around teaching, you know how throw knees to became a real mma fighter, page with ufc and Bruce, of course any videos of you really doing something, the usual chatterbox...

  • @ParkFight hahahahahha u have lost ur mind man. what u say doesnt even make sense.

seriously u need some recovery obvious, but get some real medical professional help, not mma, it wont help much, but knock ur teeth out.

where have i said anything about bruce lee? about ufc? about throwing knees?

    LOOOL hahahaha

  • How do I keep from getting matburn?

  • How do I avoid getting kneed on the way in or having the guy sprawl on top of me?

  • Turn a 45 degree angle and then run.

  • 3 things:

    - head up on ur way in

    - hands up on your way in

    - your head goes to the side of his hips, not down the middle.

  • @ icecreamandwine - Now you know why most MMA fights dont start with a takedown. (the first MMA fights often did when "stand up" guys had no take down defense.) Simple answer though is timing. It works when the opponent is expecting something else or doesn't know how to react when you use it. Some people will do it even if they know they will take a hit. Eatting one knee will usually pay off if you can submit the guy easily.

  • Have your head on side, not looking down.

  • u put ur head to their hip so u dont get kneed and well u just gotta be faster then them so they dont sprawl on u

  • if it's a real street fight and you're going to apply the double leg, i don't really recommend dropping ur knees to the ground, shit it'll hurt badly due to friction! I mean are u really gonna submit him instead of strike?

  • If it's 1 on 1 I'd rather take them down and then ground & pound.

  • it's so different for me because i write with my Right had but i shoot with my Left leg... yupp

  • wait... my coach told us not to go on knees when you shoot double leg... Is it true?

  • @hanku2002 you can shoot in on your knee to get in real deep, but you dont want to stay on your knee to long you basically want to bounce off your knee,(try to never have two knees on the ground at once also)

  • @hanku2002 Its not wrong, just not reccommended. when you shoot and keep that knee off the mat, you dont lose any power. when you drop a knee, your having to consume energy by getting that leg back up. it alsao helps increase the speed that your able to utilize when turning the corner.(when you dont drop a knee that is)

  • some chubby kid chillin in the back

  • this coach doesnt know what he's doing

  • He doesnt finish the move properly

  • @fenderboy2012 he forgot to put his right hand on the knee joint and keep his elbows in

  • nice!

  • only problem with this technique is he leaves his head exposed for a simple shoke like the guilatine so dont listen to this guy when it comes to that if u do this make sure to put ur head on his solarplexis not under one of his arms on the side thats a 100%choke everytime but then again this is american wrestling and they wonder why they lose alot by that choke well tada i just taught u somthing

  • @jiujitsuman1382: you can't guillotine in this type of wrestling though. it would be a shitty takedown in UFC or a fight, but it's fine for just normal wrestling.

  • @jiujitsuman1382 it's wrestling not Brazillian Jiu Jitsu you cant choke sumone out in Wrestling....

in MMA it's alot different than wrestling

  • It's so messed up South Park called this gay porn lol

  • @winsthon88 THIS IS WRAAAARRSTLING XD

  • winsthon88 fake wrestling is gay porn :)

  • the best move i used all season was the single leg heel trip it never fails

  • You also have to turn you head so your looking way to the right.

My high school is undefeated throughout the season!

  • Man I'm a junior and my high schools first wrestling team starts tomorrow, So if anyone has ANY tips that would help me out... Please message me with them.

  • does any 1 no how to get faster at double legg takedowns thank u

  • keep practicing them over and over again and u will get alot faster

  • theres different variations of the double leg like the blast double but other than that just practice practice practice

  • wow dude. Thats like the first move you have to learn in wrestling xD

  • actually you should always lower your level

  • atreyowns if u work on take downs foot workand drop steps over and over itll be fine just do them good dont practice sloopy then u will always do moves sloppy

  • i just started wrestling can anyone give me some tips im a freshman and my coaches are from "gilbert grappling" search them there pretty good

  • dude im in the same position as u a freshmen and just started wrestling..

dude if u keep practicing ur foot work and etc. ur gunna be good

just that in the first year ppl r usually a crappy wrestler

  • my biggest thing i learned from my freshman year is keep the match at a good pace if u get tooken down dont panic belly out and let him wear his self down

  • my coaches are jim jackson and bill demary. there pretty good, only the apple valley coaches

  • not even supposed to let your leg touch the ground (like since that guy shoots with his right his left shouldnt hit the ground)

  • horrible penetration step, he never really changed his level, and why drop to a knee? slows you down and gives your opponent a chance to counter. just take a deep penetration step in between the legs, change level i.e. get low and drive sweeping his legs out from under him with your arms

  • he didn't take a big enough step at the begging of the penetration step

  • that was a horrible shot...

he didnt change his level... his opponent can easily catch it and cross face him.. and idk..

    horrible

  • fucking perfect.

  • very good

  • i jsd pick them up tilt them sideways in the air and slam em dats all i do

  • thats what i did! check this out /watch?v=vZlUl9raXc4

  • @kazuko26 LMAO NICE ONE!!!!!!

  • Doesn't happen against good wrestlers. The way he shows is the best way to do a double leg takedown, the lift doesn't work when you go upagainst someone who knows what they doing

  • if someone did that to you you wouldn't have time to

  • Yeah reggieworth / bullcur / paadra / sweetsabrina23

Trolling under another name I see.

  • Comment removed

  • lol good luck with that all your gonna do is be off balance so your even easier 2 throw around!!

  • wtf is this this is nothing lmao and its wrong

    watch?v=AHcw_SdE08I&feature=channel

  • well first off no effence that was horrible because when you penetrate between his legs and plant that knee, suck in the legs, stand off your knees and drive with your head. the kids in this, didnt drive or suck in the knees, hence the kid barely even falling.

  • I was looking for a nice double that fits

    my son style. Good coach.

    Thanks for posting it..

  • Yer it's better to keep your head up, if i was defending, i'd either try uchi mata, or just fall and wrap my legs around and try and get the choke on.

  • You just open yourself for a big ass choke.

  • if you keep your head up you wont get choked...put your head down and its over...

  • When i wrestled, we learned a 4th step,

after we shoot, we turn the corner then finish.this way, you actually pick him up instead of driving him to the floor.

  • you should be more agrssive

  • but it does really work?if he knees or kicks me??

  • its wrestling not mixed martial arts and yeah it works if ur fast enough

  • U have to non telegraphic about it. For example...when he drops down...it's the equivalent of ducking in boxing...so instead of popping up to deliver uppercuts and hooks...u apply the double leg takedown. Watch live free style wrestling matches. Some of the doubles are as fast as a boxer jab.

  • Yeah it works, just make sure you set it up with, for example, a jab or other techniques.

  • this is wrestling not mixed martial arts

  • I'm aware of that. I was replying to someone who asked if this would work in MMA.

  • Well he does it faster then my fat ass coach lol. And it does work

  • Just knee the guy or do a front kick.

  • well then who ever taught you that is wrong.

  • This isn't what I learned for real wrestling, We learned to basically just tackle the guy, without hitting the knees on the mat.

  • If you do that, then the guy can pancake you

  • i jsut tackle there les but i dont do the real wresling i just fight wiht my friends

  • After my penetration step sometimes I'll come in with an inside trip thingy :p

  • this is crap

this never works anyway....even if they dont sprawl in time they can always stretch their legs out

  • thats true, but if u are pretty quick it will work at times

  • it works most of the time for me

you gotta remember to lift hard

if they lose balance, you're good

  • What about the pedistrartion step? This is load of crap, real bullshit. Mather kicks ass!!!!

  • remember to lift high, swing the legs and push with your head :)

  • this isn't as effective as the way i use but its alright.

  • head to the outside for bjj but otherwise nice vid

  • Head is outside. Head to the outside for most double legs, BJJ, wrestling or anything else!

  • i've been taught to use a drive double where you hit them with ur head on the inside...then, if that doesn't work you move to the outside...

  • i learned when u wrap around their waist, to lift them and drive them opposite the head

  • im the best wrestler on my feet in the world

  • someone got their ass kicked by a wrestler

  • lol

  • haha

  • spokenSmoke ur the pussy. High school wrestling is one of the toughest sport out there. even making weight is harder than some sports out there. just look in UFC, most champions have wrestling backgrounds. Why dont u show some respect asshole. by the way ur girlfriend is kind of cute!

  • lol dude, all im saying is its kind of retarted, you grab the dude and roll around trying to lay on him, its just a little goofy. im just not a fan of it, not enough excitement for me, im into muay thai and boxing, theres excitement for ya.

  • wrestling is the least homo sport in the world we also get to wrestle girls at practice so sdfu u stupid mofo who dont no nothing about wrestling or either u joined it for a day and got pinned by some next guy

  • What an intelligent and well articulated response!

  • you get to wrestle girls?

  • fights over teh ineternet are stupid. period.

  • said the pussy who cant handle the hardest sport on the planet...

  • he wasn't trying...

  • Atleast he can wrestle.

  • what exercises can I do so that I can lift the guy more easily.I want to be able to lift someone who has like 40-50 pounds on me and slam him on the ground.

  • personally im doing legs and core, not sure if it's exactly right but the way i rationalize it is your quads do most of the lifting and your core supports your back when he's up in the air. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

  • Best exerscise for picking someone up is a Barbell deadlift because it works legs, core and grip strength which is vital in any grappaling sport

  • How about squats and lunges. Though i agree deadlift is great

  • fuck yes squats and lunges

  • I'm in high school wrestling right now, but im having trouble shooting on people because they tie up a lot, does anyone have advice for tieing up???

  • be in control if they want to tie up, wha i mean by this is have your hand on the back o their neck, and your other hand under there armpit or on their wrist.

  • heres an advice fake dat ur gonna tie up and do a outside single or inside single practice the outside and than do a cross ankle you will become a pro like dat if you can do it but if u have to set up and pull em in and do it

  • If ya wanna get a shot on someone who hangs on your head a lot, tie up with em too and try snappin ther head down and then shooting or get them to step towards you by backing up and then lower yourself and shoot, use their own momentum against them

  • I dont like tying up, so I take wrist control from neutral position, and crank em to the side or whatever from there.

  • indeed...tying up irritates the fuck out of me...

all that happens is they bull their neck and then it is up to strength to decide wat happens next...

  • that was a great double, but one thing is that if you dont verbally tell the noobies the importance of the first penetration step, they will likely omit it

  • i wrestle, and the way my coach demonstrates is you don't stand back up, you lean forward and cover them

  • I use to kick that old man's ass,,,oh yeaaahh!!

  • Is that Mr. Tim Jacoutot from TSC, 3x Div III Champion,,,whose Kelly Clarkson?

  • Is that Mr Tim Jacoutot from TSC the 3x Div III Champion,,,whose Kelly Clarkson??

  • yea i got doubled into a wall at practice

  • Pretty nice, although I prefer left-lead since I'm right-handed.

  • Comment removed

  • thanx 4 the tip! i wrestle but i can never get takedown cause of fukin sprawl
