Anyone know which filmmaker Tarantino is referring to in the opening, where he says, "..as I'm getting ready to write the next thing is when his new thing is coming out, and versa vice?"
I prefer Scarface and Carlitos Way to anything Scorsese has done. The only Tarantino film i love is Inglorious Basterds, tho Reservoir Dogs is decent as well
@W3LSH100 Goodfellas,Casino,The departed,Taxi driver,Raging bull? De Palma is one of my favorite but theres nothing he's done that can beat any of those Scorsese movies I just mentioned.. and Tarantino is right, the best thing De Palma ever did was "BLOW OUT", now that's an awesome movie. Ps. You didnt like Pulp fiction?
@DonRMB My favourite films from both guys in order are: 1.Scarface. 2. Carlitos Way. 3. Taxi Driver. 4. Goodfellas. 5. Cape Fear. 6. The Departed. 7. The king of comedy. 8. Last temptation. 9. The Untoucables. 10. Dressed to kill. 11. Raging Bull. 12. Carrie 13. Casino. 14. Snake eyes. 15. Gangs of New York. More Scorcese but my 2 favourites are De Palma. Not seen BLOW OUT so i can't rate.
@W3LSH100 You need to see Blow Out it's an amazing little film.. I like the King of comedy too, alot of people dont even know about that movie which is a shame cuz to me is one of Deniro's best perfomances! "I cant take over the show for 6 weeks, I cant even take over my own life for 6 weeks! You're asking me to do something that is impossible!!!!" xD
Tarantino may come across as a dweeb, but I think he's far better than most. I didn't want to like the guy, but I had to after pay attention to his movies.
todd philips is such a jerk off, only one not laughing thinking hes the best director in the room well guess what, tarantino's 100 times the director you'll ever be, and DePalma and Scorsese are fucking 1000 times the directors you'll ever be. SO SWALLLOW YOUR PRIDE and have some fucking humility cocksucker. OOHH you directed the hangover, BIG FUCKING DEAL its not even that good. FUCK YOU TODD PHILLIPS
there is a lot of hitchcock in de palma movies. watch a scorsese interview and see how much other movies have influenced him and how he has incorporated them into his own movies. there is nothing wrong with that especially considering tarantino' s postmodern style. whether they include references and homages or not, they each have a style completely of their own and their own story to tell. also can you really say pulp fiction and reservoir dogs arent classics?
Scorsese AND De palma piss all over Tarantino...He wishes he were in that company, I mean he talks constantly about these directors and how much he admires them, which is a sure sign his own work is a mere reflection of his taste and THEIR work, which is why much of his work won't stand the test of time like a "Raging Bull", or a "Scarface" because he has nothing of his own to say except " Look at my movie and see all my favourite movies referenced , look at how clever I am"..overrated.
I have to agree. It seems to me Tarantino and a lot of directors seem to have nothing to say besides, "aren't these movies I'm referencing cool I sure am clever."
@razorraymarv That makes absolutely no sense and you should be banned from ever making any type of comment on film. Tarantino is a master at paying tribute to genres that helped him become a filmmaker and at the same time, deliver incredible stories within that world. EVERY director is influenced by other directors; including Tarkovsky, Bergman, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Scorsese and De Palma.
@adp023 That's exactly what he was saying. Look at his pensive, unhappy face. Then again, Todd Phillips should worry about even the most mediocre filmmakers.

@jackstein104 Chill bro. I think Todd Phillips is just a pretty laid back guy and, I'm sure, a huge Tarantino fan.
