  • sad to see you BA, Thomson, Ryanair crew figting... like it matters, we all have the same passion :))

  • WEEE! Bloody expensive slide ride! Glad all were safe...

  • Damn it'd be fun to slide down that shit.

  • @Doctors2Advocate It isn't trust me, we try to avoid evacuating unless its absolutely necessary. There are always injuries involved, ankles broken, noses broken from people falling over, people get crushed etc. A lot safer if your able to get back on stand or do a precautionary disembarkation which involves bringing stairs to the aircraft or using 1 or 2 slides in an organised slower and safer way.

  • @Doctors2Advocate I can assure you it isn't, minus glasses and shoes - this happened to me in Canada, there was a supposed bomb on board - there were various injuries plus a passenger had a heart attack .

  • What's the difference between the words "tarmac" and "ground"?

  • @fryanventu Tar Mac is the hard Black surface on an aiports runaway and ground is soft, hard ans any other gound

  • @MrBulutboy thank you sir!

  • its not really British airways folt, its boeings folt, they made they plane BA just flt it

  • who the fuck is the dumb passenger opening the door.... idiot.

  • Wow. Shouldnot have opened door whilst pilot says retuning to gate. Passenger doesnot realise - Pilot puts throttle up - Door open, slide inflats passengers jumps - _______. These people are blaming it on and staff say not to open doors because the passenger could have gotten sucked or pushed by the engine. I agree with the flight attendants but still wouldn't like to be in 'that' situation for long. Put your t-shirt over you mouth and nose to breath (I think helps).

  • @NycDude66 you cannot be 'sucked in' by the engines at taxi power (idle to 30% N1 engine power). You can be pushed by the engines when they are at full power. When they are idle, nothing much can happen. I wonder why the ground staff who stand next to the nose wheel while the engine starts doesn't get 'sucked in'. But I agree with the rest of what you said.

    this is fun : /watch?v=ZJ9uWsvR1l0

  • if a 747-200 engine is enought to pull and push a toyota landcriuser at fll power then i am sure a gas turbine engine could do this at just above idle

  • @1996zeeshan note: no one being pushed by engine... before you hear the noise when it shuts down

  • good thing this was at the gate. lets say it was on the move to the active runway, it could of been long delays for others. now only about 350 or so have to be delayed...

  • Its funny but when the captain would say we evacuate I would run as far as I can get away from the airplane and I will definitely NOT stand next to it. Jesus. o.O

  • Why would you take your luggage. It could cost you your life, not to mention those behind you. If you care that much about your luggage, buy fucking travel insurance.

  • The chicken wasn't that bad!

  • According to the BBC it had only just pulled away from the gate when a passenger panicked and opened the door. Give the aircrew stun guns so they can shoot the dumb passengers!

  • What fire? Mad passanger opened the door.

  • u should NOT open the cabin liek that pax did ... if u open it liek that there is the posibility that the fire with more O2 cause a bigger dissaster ...

  • As A Soon To Be Pilot , I Recommend you to NOT Bring Your Hand Luggage. Its Better To Save Your Life But No Luggage Than To Lose Your Life With Your Luggage

  • ARE YOU DEAD SERIOUS?????

  • It only takes one...

  • Servisair!!!

  • that was not a Fire it was curry Fart

  • after being involved as a member of Cabin Crew in the U.K. this year, I appauld the Cabin Crew on this aircraft for responding so fast, its the most scary incident I have ever had to deal with in 7 years of being Cabin Crew. Well Done Guys!

  • LOOKS SO FUN TO RIDE ON THOSE LITTLE SLIDY THINGS

  • Look at all those dickheads taking their bags!!

  • Stupid British Airways Crew!!! smoke in the cabin is a very dangerous problem! Electrical smoke is extremely carcinogen. When there is smoke or fire in the cabin the airplane needs to be evacuated. Stupid cabin and flight crew. If this is the policy of BA to save money by not deploying slides it would have been better that they declared bankrupt and closed down. Cheers

  • @Rickybondfly I don't understand your point? How did they not deploy slides? If you watch the video, you can clearly see passengers sliding down from the exits?????

Please could you explain what you mean?

  • @amccourt look at the description of the video....The captain came over the PA and announced we would be heading back to the gate due to this intense odor.... (here it was supposed to be evaquated) and then......a passenger rushed the emergency exit door and opened it while a flight attendant yelled not to..... (whaaaaaaaaaat? fire in the cabin and you wait till you get to the gate? Insane! If airplanes have fire onboard they evaquate people as soon as the airplane stops on the runway!)

  • @Rickybondfly Declare bankruptcy like Alitalia?

  • @amccourt hey don't make fun of Alitalia!!! They are as professional as a mafia man is in his duties... ;-)

  • @amccourt now i understand why you asked that!!! you're from UK so patriotic about BA. I'm not saying that BA is worst than other airlines since i would have critics about Ryanair, Alitalia, Lunfthansa, KLM too... Don't be offended. We are all on the same boat, if you sink we all sink too... Peace

  • @Rickybondfly I ask because it is a genuine question.

You stated "If this is the policy of BA to save money by not deploying slides...."

I have watched the video and can clearly see passengers evacuating the aircraft using slides....

  • Not so easy to fly Virgin Atlantic from PHX when they don't even fly there... though if they did theres not doubt the service would be wayyy better

  • I am shocked people are carrying their bags, that is stupid, really stupid

  • yes 80000 viewer

  • I have been cabin crew/FA for 6 years and have had my share of incidents of Evac's to Deaths and arsehole pax's. Safety is our NO.1 priority to everyone even the pricks onboard! So if you are ever faced with any situation SHUT up-listen and do wats asked of you and you hopefully will see ya family and ya samsonite luggage soon!

In the case of ya man in this vid opening the exit b4 the command i would stand back and watch him get sucked into a engine cause it will teach the other pax!

  • The passenger yelled fire and the flight attendant told the guy not to open the door? Same thing they told people in the world trade center, to stay put and everything would be safe. Someone should of punched her right in the face.

  • Coll

  • Fly red.Virgin Atlantic for life :)....Hotter flight attendants,Hotter aircraft.

  • "At this point, what appeared to be chaos broke out in the cabin and a passenger rushed the emergency exit door and opened it while a flight attendant yelled not to."

    -____-

  • i've always wanted to use one of the slides

  • Get away from the plane idiots.

  • cool silde !!!

  • did the one at the end have two carry on bags on her?

  • If people are fearing for their travel documents, just pick your passport and put it in one of your pockets during take off and landing... thats all

  • All British cabin crew are trained to the highest standard not just BA crew!

  • Hooray!!!

  • was this real or a simulation??

  • Most Cabin Crew do a great job. I've flown with BA 5 times in the past few months. Cabin crew, thorough on safety; polite and courteous every time. Can't say the same for all the passengers though - getting up a walking around during the safety demo; sneaking wine from Business to friends back in Economy after an upgrade and sneaking from Economy into Business to get a free breakfast!!!

  • People shouldn't take their bags with them. It's dangerous and stupid. And people have to listen I don't know why people think they know best. Its like when a plane is ditching in the ocean and people inflate their life-jackets. Doesn't anyone listen? The safety briefing states: LEAVE EVERYTHING!

  • did they tell you guys to stay away from the engines

  • was there an actual fire or just smoke ? if there was a fire where was it and do you know what caused it ?

  • Pepole LEAVE YOUR GOD DAMM BAGS ON THE FUCKING PLANE!!!!! You inconsideate FUCKTARD ASSHOLES, your worthless pice of shit items can be replaced YOU on the other hand CAN NOT, then again, YOU should not even be alowed to LIVE....

  • @deltaboy767 nice one - another fucked up flight attendant. Worthless piece of shit, you are, boy.

Comments from other flight attendants, their tone, etc. only confirm how you come across treating everyone like idiots. Some of you behave like fucking c*nts. You're flight attendants because you couldn't do ANY better. Shut up or put up.

  • @sf200425997

ok mister, i am a flight attendant because i want to be. i have a masters in Management, and i could get any job i want, but i chose this job because i love it

  • @a777boi Masters in management ;) Hahhaha, that's really something to look up to :) Most of people I know have masters in management. Because they are sheep and didn't have a clue about what they wanted to do in life and at the time management was trendy - everyone signed up.

If you think you can have any job you want you're either overestimating yourself or have a very limited expectations regarding your possible career options. Good luck though.

  • @sf200425997

so getting a masters in airline management from arizona state university, is cheap! LOL i knew what i wanted and thats why i went for it. the problem is people like you who think that people around them are worthless and that you are the best thing that ever happened in this universe. I am very proud of my achievements, very proud of the five languages i speak, very proud that i lived abroad for few years to get an education, and top of all proud of my job and what I do

  • @a777boi sf200425997 is an arrogant dick head ....... after 13 years flying I am sure you agree with me passengers very rarely know best - they just don't like being told what to do and taking instructions (captains orders) from the cabin crew once the doors are closed. He sounds like the kind of tosser who would make you stand and wait while he takes as long as possible to fasten his seat belt while you are securing the cabin...

  • @Jeff150 Sure your a captain! You really sound like one with your attitude!

  • the average passenger is as dumb as a box of rocks.

  • @MrDanieldb Boy you got that right....

  • A passenger opened the door!!! WHAT???? Oh trust me if i was there the self defence and restraint training would have kicked in!!!! And all those stupid people taking bags off the aircraft try and read other incidents where people got trapped on a burning plane and died because of you stupid passengers taking your time to grab bags off during an evacuation. And then on a normal flight they pretend they know more than the crew. Pathetic!!!

  • It really is shocking how many people have their luggage and duty free with them. A sucessfull evacuation means one person should leave the aircraft every second at least. all those idiots that took the extra 10 seconds to collect their bags potentially wasted the time for 10 other people to be evacuated. So strange but studies have shown that even in life threatening situation passengers can show little regard to preserve their lives by stopping to collect bags. It angers me so much!!

  • @kem1880 I don't like the ones that wear shorts and flipflops either. That endangers everyone in an emergency evacuation.

  • @MrWillydoit lol imfao what does that mean

  • WTF happend?

  • are you a total noob? Read the damn video info! + the fact he said "fire on board" noob!

  • @charlieiscool1000 ya man, your pretty stupid. the first words in the description are: "smoke filled the cabin"

  • Amazes me to see the people leaving with their carry on bags.

  • Maybe this was not one of those situations, but in some safety videos you can hear, that after using the slide you have to stand up and MOVE AWAY from the plane...what about this rule in this case?? (sorry for any grammatical error, I'm Hungarian and I learn the language just now)

  • nice lol

  • lol thats looks like fun

  • @shaniq14able it isent fun you can get very hurt geting off those slides

  • lol

  • You can see the smoke coming from in front of the vertical stabilizer (the rudder)

  • @TheProPilot I'm willing to bet thats the pilots frantically getting the APU started.

  • what happened?!

  • what was the problem ?

  • Smoke appeared whilst pushing back from the gate. Full emergency evacuation was ordered by the crew

  • Do you know the reason for this smoke... ?

  • i always travel with a small backback with the essentials i need and just keep it in front of me because i always it in the window seat and its a pain in the neck to have to disturb everyone to get to the overhead bins

  • hahaha why would they take their baggage with them when it clearly says u cant lol but nice video anyway. u dont see these kind of videos often here

  • Are people crying?

Such pussies. Are you serious? I mean, c'mon now.

Over exaggerating women. They make everything worse.

  • tell me about it.

  • stupid people. taking there bags with them,... they deserve to burn!

  • i agree !!!!!

  • So a passenger thought opening an emergency exit, deploying the chute and jumping out while the plane was moving and the engines running was a good idea? Jeezus, tehy should give the flight attendants Tazars!

  • Did the passenger who opened the exit have colored underwear on and passe gas?

  • were the eninges still on, they sounded like they just shut off mid way through the video, are they not suppose to shut the engines off first?

  • would have been other a/c on the ramp

  • No, you heard the APU auxilary unit in the tail, the air conditioning packs, the avionic fans, all stopping as power was cut by the pilots by shutting down the APU, leading to total power loss and the nights, cabin, navigation and logo lights all going off.

  • Yes shame on all them passengers who evacuated with there luggage. That's terrible!. Safety just went out the cabin door literally!.

  • Yeah bud id bet youd take your luggage to.

  • i know the no life is worth luggage !!! IMHO overhead lockers should be lockable at cabin crews discreation !

  • Yea so if someones haveing a asthma attack and there puffers in the over head cabins they have to get the crew to unlock it so they can get into there bags to get it. Geinous.

  • Ya !!! But the crew would only lock the lockers while the seatbelt sign is on besides anyone with asthma and common sense would keep what they need in their pockets /hand bags !! If you have an asthma attack the last thing u want to have to do is climb out of ur seat and try to rummage thru the overheads anyway !!! Think Common sense!!!

  • True. BUt then again its a bad idea and you never know tbh. THose bags could have pasports and shit stuff you need to get out of the country so honestly you never no. Maybe if the overhead cabins locked if there was a emerceny but people could keep pills, puffers, passports many important things in there so really you never no.

  • yes i think somthing should be done ! Anouncements should be made to keep all esentiol items in your seat back pocket or in your own pocket/hand bag , the ammount of way those big trolly carryon bag can actually KILL someone is unreal !! Imagine the panic in a burning plane and some eejit tries to bring his/her bag ! They will slow down the evacuation , maby burst the slide .

  • True BUT then again those bags could have been stowed under the seat so the person said ah wth il take it

  • thats true you could never get it rite but with locked overhead bins there would be alot less baggage !!! But i dont think it wil ever happen !

  • Yea I mean really they only care if you get out. Sure its pretty selfish if you take your stuff but then again as long as your ok.

  • @warlockmasta WTF? Why would you need any of those things if you were on fire? You can't always predict an emergency and have time to rearrange your luggage!

  • wow i just stated trainning for BA as passenger service agent. but under Swissport

  • great Job BA

  • BA should track down each passenger seen carrying their baggage and ban them for life from flying their airline, How utterly STUPID to collect your bags, stopping others from getting out of a potential catastrophe. Remember the safety briefing - leave everything behind and move to the nearest useable exit. Shame on all of you who evacuated that aircraft carrying your cabin baggage....

  • @badboybiker they NEVER told the passengers that it was an EMERGENCY EVACUATION. they thought they were going back normally at a jetway. think before you speak dumbass.

  • @badboybiker But they wouldn't know that because most people don't bother to listen and watch the safety demonstration.

  • @badboybiker Totaly agree with you there, those kind of people are just idiots. Putting themselves and others at risk for the sake of their luggage.

  • @badboybiker Well some have good reason. There could have been something very important in their baggage that cant be left behind.

  • @TheWarPlanet what if they dropped their bag and then someone tripped over it causing a pile up of people and more injuries? it may be you one day? as crew we say leave your bags for a reason.

  • @meetsmost....could not have said it better myself. I was involved in a full evacuation in the UK, I was a flight attendent at the front of the aircraft, and not one person took a bag......very very scary experience, I very much like your comment.

  • @meetsmost At British Airways, the Cabin Crew are not insructed to remove baggage from passengers should they collect it, At Ryanair, the manual instructs Crew to ignore a pile up at the base of the slide because it will sort itself out. If the CAA, BAA and IAA thought that these things were such a big deal, they wouldnt have these regulations. I say, if there is time to collect your bags, do it! Passengers then trying to enter the country without money, visas or passports make things worse!

  • @ThomsonAirwaysStaff ...i am BA cabin crew and we tell passengers to leave all hand luggage behind if they leave the aircraft in an emergency, i never said the crew would take it off them...as for Ryanair...i dont care you would never find me on a Ryanair aircraft...way too dangerous for me!!

  • @meetsmost Ryanair aircraft may not be cleaned between sectors and they may not be the biggest in the world, but if they were dangerous, they wouldn't be in the sky. And as for their Cabin Crew, they may not be the nicest in the world, but British Airways Cabin Crew are known for being bitchy British horses, so you can't talk. Ryanair has one of the worlds biggest fleets and they have a hard working crew, that says enough for me!

  • @ThomsonAirwaysStaff oh your a bitch little queen are'nt you!!! so whats the one thing Ryanair crew have in common? A rejection letter from BA cabin crew recruitment!!!

  • @meetsmost No, British are never hiring, but Ryanair are! So they can't apply to BA. And they're never hiring because they're not operating any flights because you bitches are always on strike, crying about your poor conditions and bad pay which is actually some of the best standards and salaries in the buisness. So get over yourselves, dry you eyes, get your trollies out and do you jobs and hopefully you won't have to evacuate the aircraft. What about service with a smile? BA would be ashamed!

  • @ThomsonAirwaysStaff think you'll find we have been hiring for the past 18 months for our new mixed fleet...

  • @ThomsonAirwaysStaff BA are hiring and quite a lot of it!! You probably wouldn't fit the uniform though....the chips on your shoulders are too big.....

  • @meetsmost Ryanair may not have the cleanest fleet and sure, their aircraft arent the biggest, but if they were dangerous, they wouldn't be in the air. Ryanair may also not have the nicest crews, but they sure are hard workers. Which is more than I can say for the British Airways Cabin Crew. Stop complaining about your salary because its one of the best in the buisness. Ryanair staff are paid the bare minimum and that really ticks me off. And they do more than you! So dont bad mouth Ryanair.

  • @meetsmost lol @as crew.....you a stewardess?

  • haha! i was 2 planes over while this was happening!! we were delayed for like a half hour and it was really hot and there was no water.

  • damn the plane looks nice from that angle

  • BA CREW IS THE BEST!!

  • i hope your bags didnt get burned cos u cant take bags down the chutes or was it a small fire?

  • Oh dear... Small fire.

  • excellent crew!

    WE LOVE BA!

  • are you a cabin crew ? if yes , longhul or shorthul ? full time or part time ? we might have worked together ?

  • ha ha ha , no , i was a full time ICCM or a national as the old school crew would remember in the good old days befor walsh came in & ****** things up for everyone.

if no comment could be made than tell me this: some of the crew were told by the guys at the top not to say anything about this & only flight crew had the support of BA not the cabin crew? i still have frindes in BA who keep contact & send me letters ,bassa news & ba news ,so i still know somthing about somthings .

  • one more thing , all cabin crew know this from the SEP training : you have smoke in the cabin & you smell burning you god damn evacuate .

  • i was a cabin crew with BA & from what i can make out & see : the flight crew didnt make the right choice - to go back to the terminal & e-vac that way .

we all know in the airline that passengers are always going to be SHEEP so the best way to deal with them in a situation like that is to lead them out & follow our SEP training , im glad that no one got hurt & all are safe but BA could have done better & not think of cost cutting .

  • are there any crew out there who can say what realy whent on ?

  • Comment removed

  • I heard that when they opened the upper left slide,it inflated right on top of the jetway. The upper slides are way too high.

  • my better friend was the female leader of cabin of that airplane and said what step. I believe that they must recognize the excellent work of the cabin crew. they this to save the life of the passengers. I believe that she must but respect to them.

Sorry for my bad English. I speak Spanish.

  • 1 billion flights per year and between 5-10 accidents occur (usually in poorer countries). Air accidents are so so rare. You've got more chance of winning the euro millions.

  • Comment removed

  • what idiots took their bags with them... do you not realise you are putting everyone's lkife in danger by doing that?! crew can not leave the aircraft until the whole thing is cleared and safe... how absolutely selfish of those people rumaging around for what are material possesions. see you next tuesday the lot of you!!

  • I was there, and that was my most shocking experience yet.

The woman by my side was praying like crazy out loud and almost fainted. The children behind us couldn´t stop crying and screaming.

  • That looks like it would have been scary!

  • fire onboard ..well im afraid ,theres no way id be standing any were near tht plane any sense you would leg it .

  • Where to? the plane was between us and the terminal, and behind us we still had a LIVE runway! No one told us it was an emergency exit via the chutes, thats why people had bags in their hands!

  • Its still not clear from ucleadguitar who initiated the evacuation - the call for a 'manual exit' sounds more like the 'doors to manual' call which the pilot wold make to cabin crew when pulling on to stand.

  • A flight attendant opened the emergency exit door I exited and at that moment the flight attendants began opening the rest of the doors. So they must have been giving the order to exit through the emergency exits. The first door that opened directly opposite where I was standing appeared to be opened by a passenger as soon as he saw the smoke. The flight attendant by me was yelling across to him not to open it and shook his head after the guy did it anyway.

  • Hey buddy, glad you're all OK! I have a question with regards to how people reacted & as you described 'chaos' broke out in the cabin.

When people started rushing the exits, was it everyman for himself, was it young people ,old people, whole famalies?...who out of the passengers lost their cool first? were there many children on board?

  • Yes, there were 17 children on board.

  • I'm glad you got off safe and sound .

Most experience shock after this sort of event - its easy to look back and think you should have done this or that but in a life or death situation you don't react in a 'normal' way -The crew on the other hand have been programmed to react following years of training - an ordinary passenger doens't have the luxury of that training to fall back. on. Don't feel guilty - the main thing is you followed the crews commands and got off safely.

  • @ucleadguitar good to see people can remain calm, even though most of the time its nothing. i hope he was fined big time :P

  • I was cabin crew for 12 years and I don't get these people who stand filming when they could be assisting with the exacuation...... And as for a passenger opening the door themselves? Why were the crew not in the vicinity of the door area to prevent it? Another case of passengers thinking they know best.

  • I helped people out of the emergency exit door prior to me getting out and on the ground helped whoever needed help. Filming was in short blocks because I was walking around and doind whatever I could from where I was. Should I have stopped out the slides and helped people off?

  • @ucleadguitar no because then we would never see what really happened that night...news lies too much nowadays...i was there that night as well shit was krazy at T-4 everybody crying and stuff...glad everybody made it out though

  • @Jeff150 "Another case of passengers thinking they know best." - Well, sometimes they do. Why would I want to rely on you doing your job properly when my butt might be on the line? Especially when observing your colleagues often behaving like morons. And your job isn't exactly rocket science.

  • With respect to the female PASSENGER IN GREEN carrying luggage off an evacuating aircraft. This is dangerous and life threatening to passengers trying to exit BEHIND HER. Had this been a more SERIOUS FIRE, people could have died.

  • I've always said that during an evacuation, if a passenger leaves with their luggage, they should be fined/prosecuted by the airline for potentially using up space on the slide that could have been needed for a person!

  • I am stunned at the stupidity of these passengers , take off their bags with them for the evacuation , and then stand around an aircraft laden with fuel that could possibly explode. If you take your bag you slow down the evacuation for everyone and could cause more injury to yourself or others on the slide !!! Pax are the stupidest sometimes, well done crew though ! I was BA crew as well for many years

  • The crew did a great job getting us out of the plane....agreed!

  • How does it feel exiting a plane down an emegency slide? I've always wondered?

  • @eponnee why doesn't that surprise me? You've chosen a wrong job with that kind of a mindset. It shows, believe me.. I hate most of you, onboard morons. Flight attendants (especially the BAA ones) are often rude, and have a false belief that their job is the most complicated thing that sets them apart from others. Wake up. You're there to SERVE others. It is entirely your problem if you don't like your job and I will not tolerate you being a c*nt to the passengers about it.

  • @sf200425997 thanks for the comments , I love my job !! the point is that crew are on board primarily for safety , and that is why I was bemused by the fact that the passengers were taking their bags off with them when it was their own safety that concerned me. I have never been a c*nt to passengers , , maybe the crew pick up on your resentment of them and treat you accordingly ! It is not a complicated job as you say , but does carry responsibilities , you should stop flying BAA, is that BA ?

  • @eponnee I don't mistreat any of the flight crew, unless they give reasons to do so with their behaviour. If there's anything they should pick up on. If there's anything the crew should pick up on, it's their duties.

One of the FAs said commented that the passengers were daft enough to stand around while the aircraft was being evacuated, despite the risks. Isn't that something the flight crew should pick up on, instead of picking on the "stupid pax", as you refer to us?

  • Sadly some people don't like to be the odd one out, so running like a mad hysterical idiot is not going to make other people follow you and take note, the plane has so little chance of exploding its so not funny--as for me i hate up their own asses ex cabin crew on these pages talking about passengers as if they are mindless retards that want to die, cabin crew have a job to do YES, but these people are OUT of the plane, and can carry whatever they like. get over yourselfs, your air waitresss

  • @trvwatson thanks for your comments , if the passengers were clever they would realise not to take bags off with them ,and use a mobile phone on the apron. How do you know the aircraft wouldn't have caught fire?. I commented because I had years of experience at this job , so felt a little bit qualified to be able to comment. It was a great job being crew , and lot of people are jealous because we flew around the world for a living and get jealous as you obviously are with your spiteful comment !

  • i worked in the alrline industry aswel (so what) i might have been a trolly dolly like you- sadly the glorious life you talk about is a myth as we all know--, its not the countries you stay in but the colour of the hotel bedding that matters if you get the point.

as for me being jealous, you mention you flew around the world- the sky actually (serving people on a plane, and clearing up for them) you obvioulsy are deluded and up your own asse if you think that people are jelaous of you for that.

  • mmm passenger opening an emergency door on a live taxiway.......not quite sure how that is BAs fault.

  • I didn't blame BA for this. I was upset with how BA handled everything back in the terminal but I also understand that this is not a normal everyday occurence and they were also shocked! I changed my description because I agree it was too negative against BA when I do agree, they did an excellent job getting us out of the plane and onto the tarmac!

  • Ok for the person filming this, It was some smoke, YES however, The reason flight attendants instructed you not to open the doors, THE ENGINES were still running until 10 secin. That is a huge hazard. Doors should not be open until the engines are off. as for paramedics not seeing you til 1 hour later, You were too busy filming to seek help. so you didnt need it as bad as others its called Triage. Opening doors with engines running could injest some one, Wose hazard than the smoke.

  • It was the APU that was running until 0:10. The engines were NOT running. The Captain had shut down the engines before he ordered the evacuation. Had the engines been running during the evacuation, people would have been killed, slides blown away or sucked into the engines. When the APU was shitched off, all power to the aircraft was lost, the cabin lights went out, tail logo light went out, green navigation lights on the wing went off and the airconditioning shut down.

  • exactly. The engines exhaust would of fried the passengers...

  • There was no one on the ground to seek help from when I began filming and if you notice there videos are short and not long. This is due to the fact that I would grab video and stop when there was someone that I could talk to after the BA staff got on the ground from helping everyone out safely.
