BTW: they will turn out to not only look realistic, but will feel same - dent. So you will want to be careful - perhaps package properly if gift giving?
@rainslave Yeah I've now tried several ways - the meringue toppings (goes moldy after a while) and lifts off of base, tried 'glueing on the top with melt and pour soap' and the final thing I tried which seems ok for about a month is the m&p topping. I'll be interested to try your recipe, might have to wait for less weather tho - it's winter here
Sorry, I can't tell you as I just tried this a few days ago. I can tell you that the icing will stay "stuck" on your finished cakes IF they have some cocoa butter mixed in (after hardened) or else they'll separate. And adding corn starch should be limited - or they'll go flat. I have found that they must be in the fridge for a few days to set (or it'll still be a bit gummy). I'm still in test mode, but for personal use, great!
For the icing, I use men's UNSCENTED shaving GEL, cornstarch and (melted) cocoa butter - then just refrigerate and voila!...'tis much easier and gives the bath bomb a bit of sudsy action ta-boot
this might sound like a strange idea but, what about sticking actual meringue to the tops with a thin layer of melted soap? Being that they are just egg whites and sugar and they look realistic too - they would melt in the tub, no?
@rainslave believe me I've all ready tried the meringue topping several times with soap to stick on, without soap and straight on the base and everytime the top lifts off - also the meringue top goes moldy
THANK YOU! :D I would eat these if I could(: haha. Please please please do a video on at home salon perfect manicure and pedicure if you could, pleasssssssssse! (seriously, it would mean the world to me, you make it look fun and simple!:) thanks in advance! :D:D
