  • The turdola pious, shitty little cars for shitty little cocksuckers who want to try and buy an identity.

  • The Prius wasn't designed to be a race car, I wouldn't walk up to a Geo Metro and talk about how shitty it is for a family car, because the Metro isn't a family car. Can't educate those who don't want to be educated.

  • Anyone who tried to talk speed and power, their argument is already invalid.

  • Im getting this car!

  • cannot wait until I buy this amazing car!

  • not to mention turbo diesels get similar MPG, funner to driver, and dont contain the poisonous battery

  • true

  • The Prius is a wonderful vehicle. No brits had a hand in its design, and jeremy, Toyota just sold their millionth "PREE-UHS".

  • Buy a motorcycle and get 60-80 mpg,

+ look cool and drive fast.

    + They are CHEAP 4-5k.

  • +highly deadly

  • what kinda name is "WheelsTV"? no offense

  • I can't wait until 2009 when Japan release the new synergy system that will boost the car up to 100+ mpg.

  • when in 2009?

because im planning on buyin this.

  • WE GOT 51 MPG ON THE VERY FIRST TANK, ANY QUESTIONS....Great quality... with the record to prove it, keep paying $4.00 a gallon.. if you like......I will buy a 2nd one when I can, in fact.

  • Here in PA during the winter we got average 45 MPG with heat and all that on.

  • one solar panel will drive it 5-7 miles a day. $4 a watt, a 2,000 watt system will drive it for 30 years, 50-70 miles a day.

  • actually it only gets 45 miles per gallon cause my family has one but still an eccelent car

  • Trouble is you folks think electricity is a fuel - it's not! It has to be made by fuel! As things stand every KWh pollutes around 1000g of CO2 from even the best coal fired station. This means even the Tesla pumps out around 140g/km CO2/km. As for nuclear - that's another story and renewables are a small fraction of grid. Only in a sunshine state would solar electric cars work.

  • Truth is that the Prius has done more good than any other car in auto history, Truth is that it will someday be replaced by a much better car, and so on. Gas and diesels are dead ends, electric is more efficent than either and is just now making its first baby steps. Much to the chagrin of it older siblings.

  • I think Mr Ford is rolling in his grave - the Model T diod far more for people than a supposedly eco friendly 1300kg car. Agree H2 could be a dead end and electric cars are just moving the pollution elsewhere unless you have 12 hr a day sunshine and a highly silicon expensive solar panel.

  • Most Int Combustion engines are only around 30-35% effeicent, some may reach 40%. Electric motors can easily hit 80%. So if you are going to produce energy for a car to use, whether it be H2 generation, ethanol generation, electric generation does it not make sense to pick the "fuel" that is going to do the most useful work.

  • The electric car was being worked long before Henry decided it would be more profitable to go internal combustion. Think how the world might be today if only Mr. Ford had a better idea.

  • OMFG! ive seen you post this gay ass spam comment on like 6 prius videos. LAME ASS

  • you sir are entitled to ypur ignorance. all these cars can take 4 adults with luggage

  • Diesels a dead end, Hydrogen will never happen, gas wil be gone, ethanal is a joke. It should be clear to you that the direction is toward electric. And you spewing fumes all over the Prius You Videos just makes you look like the ignorant backwards hack you are.

  • I love my Prius suckas

  • Beaten by Citroen C1 (bio diesel test result 60.5MPG UK), 8800 GBP, MINI One D (stop start version 60MPG UK) 14100 GBP, Fiat Panda multijet (59.7MPG UK) 8295GBP, Polo (58MPG, 99g/km CO2) 12845 GBP. All of them cheaper to run, lower C02 and better MPG than Prius.

  • And the size?, please. Cars totally differents.

  • aaaaaaaaahhhhhh

    numbers get them away!

  • Over hyped and now over here! At just under 18000 GBP it is overpriced. In Nov 2007 MPG/emissions test by Auto express it came 5th out of 6 eco cars. It weighs over 1300kg and managed just 53mpg - UK (imperial gallons)

  • Toyota is one of the best cars in the world

  • it will get away from oil but causes more pollution by nickel deposit

  • Catch up, you are using a report which was debunked and corrected. The environmental damage around the plant you're thinking of is 30 years old and improving now.

    Nickel is expensive and recycleable.

  • actually the acceleration on 0-60 is 12 seconds ive tried it myself peice of crap

  • Why are you guys arguing about stupid shit like that, the most important thing is that companies like toyota is thinking about the future and our environment! It so typical mankind to start debating about who's right and who's wrong, when we're all wrong...because its wrong not to use Prius if you can.. if you live in the city, you dont need a SUV!!!

If I lived in NY I sure would! But I live in northen sweden so...

  • look the hummer h2 costs 80 kr about 13 dollars but the toyota prius costs 24 dollars prius suck

  • Why do people hate Toyota and say rumors about it. Toyota is trying to keep the inviroment safe. They do not copy others. Their one of the TOP JAP CAR COMPANY in the USA! Toyota haters should not comment then. My point is they are helping the inviroment and trying to keep the enviroment safe. It is better then having a brown sky killing birds and animals and trees and ect. Other car companys don`t even care. Some of them go for the money and only money.

  • it really is 21,000

  • Hassleoff - that stop start system was invented by VW for it's eco diesel cars long before Toyota copied it. Your comments are based on 30 year old technolgy and very old high sulphur blends of fuel. Today's diesels run on low sulphur fuel, have particulate filters, can run on bio fuel more efficiently than ehtanol cars, use Urea injection to reduce NOx levels and are far safer in an auto crash - no big batteries for the emergency services to worry about cutting during rescue ops.

  • Yep, you're right, diesels are pretty good however there is no car currently in production which matches Prius for low emissions, low fuel consumption and seats 4 people in comfort. Check the space in a Prius.

  • Stick to the facts and grow up! What MPG did the Bonneville Prius achieve? Certainly nowhere near 50mpg! The current land speed record for wheel driven cars is held by - yes a diesel! JCB Diesel max. And it is capable of going faster it was just restricted by the tire warranty!

  • DIESEL SUCKS!

  • omg latteliberal is a clown... read his crazy post...

I have a 2001 prius with 159k miles.. and still get 50mpg average... and it hasn't blown up...

  • Diesel particles contribute to asthma and lung disease. Just sit behind any diesel in a traffic queue and taste the air. Come on guys get real - in traffic the Prius switches off and also creep along on electric power.

  • 2007 is 22,886

  • Sadly USA drivers ignorant of modern diesel tech. Only ONE % of USA cars run diesel. If 30% diesels then USA would use far less imported oil - in fact equivalent to all imports from Saudi Arabia! Prius is not a real world solution. Only of benefit on short trips/low speed.

  • That's totally bogus! The Prius was run at Bonneville and got to 130mph with only slight modifications such as tires for the salt flats. If every car in America got 50mpg we wouldn't need Suadi oil!

  • Anything >40 mph and a hybrid uses >fuel and pollutes >global warming gases than modern diesel. Reason? Extra weight: batteries+motors to drag around. Audi A2 1.2TDI can run biofuel but with normal diesel puts out 81g/km CO2 and 66MPG at average 91MPH on Autobahn! Normal driving A2 gets 100MPG. Prius weighs 1.3T, A2 0.9 T

  • 0 to 60 in 13 seconds.

    THIRTEEN SECONDS.

And you'd get similar performance and like gas mileage for less in a diesel.

  • Hybrids are unfair competition. Oil companies have rights too. Oil companies create jobs, donate to charity and keep soldiers off welfare. Hybrids have been RECALLED for EXPLODING GAS TANKS so they are unsafe. Oil companies are traditional and proven. Don't believe the lies in liberal biased magazines like Consumer Reports. Advertising in the magazine decides who gets "top rated". Say YES to jobs. Vote YES to oil.

  • You suckers if that shit was built with first class materials, you think Japs would sell it for $20K??? That car is trash, that's what it is....

  • its first rate, meaning it feels good to the touch and fits together well. It really doesn't matter how much the material cost as long as it fits those criteria. However, american manufacturers are having a hard time doing that even in their more expensive cars. I don't really understand this either, how come toyota can choose plastic that feels upscale, and US manufacturers keep choosing plastic that feels downright cheap and fit loosely. Its truely puzzling.

  • That's correct as well, US quality is rubbish...

  • Prius gives 160,000KM warranty on hybrid parts and with a full tank of gas you can make over 1000KMs plus if you are living in Canada you get a 2000$ rebate from the government just for driving a green car! You can make the rear seats perfectly flat for more cargo, the C model comes with a backup camera and Navigation package. Costs about 45,000 Canadian dollars. I think it is not bad at all!

  • I wouldn't buy it if it was the only car in its class. For a €25000 you get only 75 HP and interior isn't so nice like they say. For the record a Smart diesel will do even less CO2 than Prius. So, here is a tipp for you all, buy turbodiesel instead and you'll get with extremly low gas usage very good performance and buildquality, something prius doesn't have. Prius is car for nature freaks that buy anything that has nature friendly sticker to it...

  • @Symbrio Smart car are way too light for our winter wonderland weather, they would fly in the ditch at the sight of a semi-truck passing by... We cover longer distances in Canada or the US to get to work.tin A road trip cross country to visit family takes as long as 3 days... That's visiting 4 countries in Europe... Perhaps we should strap the kids on a car rack... But that wouldn't be ergonomically wise! Toyota and Honda are a great choice for us and the battery cell last 700 000 miles!

  • @Symbrio Price tag of a Prius is on average in between 22 500 to 27 000 USD! Voilà!

  • its a dirty- high poluting car in the long run

    see the bigger picture sweety

  • it depends how long you drive it. the prius at the moment because of new technology uses about 4 tonnes of co2 more when made but compared to sat a v8 sedan when run 20,000km it can save about 2 tonnes of co2 emissions, so it will be better for the environment in the long run.

  • HOW DARE you compare a Prius to a V8 sedan they are in COMPLEATLY diffrent leagues.

Lets look at it like this: 2 small family cars.

    Compare Prius 1.5 "Hybrid petrol"

    Highway MPG ~ 50

Town ~ 50 (it NEVER reaches the 60 it claims it will- but 50 is very reasonable)

    Audi A3 Diesel

    Town ~ 50

    Motorway ~ 60!

Plus making the Audi makes a mear puff of CO2.

  • The actual milage may be irrelevant when talking about pollution because different fuel sources contain different amounts of pollutant per gallon or per liter. E.g. diesel is more energy dense than petrol, which is more energy dense than LPG and hydrogen.

  • Are you implying that a turbo diesel with a compression ratio of >22:1 is less enery efficient that an atkinson-cycle petrol engin with a hairdryer attached.

    Please just stop :(

  • I'm 32 and I bought my 2004 Prius for 13,000, thats a real deal for a car that continuously gets well over 50 miles per gallon. And yes, I too get 400 miles for $20 dollars. The Prius Can go up to 600 miles on one tank of gas. I've done the research and it's an easy find to learn that the Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive is the leading technology for Hybrids right now.

  • You laugh! I'm 18, and I want to trade my Audi A4 for a Prius!

  • I can't believe how childish some of the posters are here. Take Thathill, how old are you? Do you even have any concept of reality?

  • I have one and I am not a college professor. I drive it not because of the environment, but because it only cost me $20 to go 400 miles. Let me guess, you drive a car or truck that gets 18MPG and live about 5 minutes from work, if you do work? Keep saying that people that drive hybrids are losers when the gas goes above $4.00 a gallon. Don't worry because in a few years, there will be no straight up gas cars or trucks. They will all be hybrid of some sort.

  • I got one and I'm 25. Best car in my humble opinion.

  • haha you bought a hybrid

look how old the guy who drives it is hahahahaha

  • You are sooooooo retarded...

  • Como berlina de 5 puertas, sin compararlo ni irme a Lexus, despues de probarlo me encantó!
