@saintchap First get your sources right...that is a song by someone else in the first place. lets say, someone used the tune of vande mataram to praise their motherland would you hold it against them? also, i was present in the audience when Bhupen Hazarika sang at the Andaman Tourism festival. he started this song with due credit to Paul Robson. he sang it 4 times..and started with the English version. There at that point he had separated himself from Priam and anew Mallik etc.

i don't his son's name. but his wife's (or ex?) - a remarkably beautiful one - name is Priyambada Hazarika from whom Bhupenda has a son who was in Japan some 27 years ago.

This song is not originally Assamese. It is called Ole Man River from the movie Showboat and sung by famous African American singer Paul Robson. Bhupenda met Robson while doing his Phd in America and picked up this famous song, along with the other famous Black song 'We Are In the Same Boat Brother.'

'Bristirna parore' is original Axomia song, it was translated & composed in Bangla first, later it was composed in Hindi too..
