Noel has actually stated he never really cared for nor understand the song until he heard ryan adams version. saying it was an awaking, a realization within him. i dont mind him covering a cover of his band's song. interestin if you ask me, if judge the song from the standpoint of the actual music, not anything else, you'd still say is a great take.
