While it is cool to know a little bit about the fighter & how came to the UFC, but it could go too far. I really don't what to see fighters calling every champion out after they win a few fights. When matches are arranged based on the potential PPV sales and not based on the quality of fight, it will be the death of true MMA.
Koscheck didn't get this fight because he deserved a shot at GS P's title, he got the fight because Dana knew he would trash talk &add to the hype, thus selling lots of tickets. Everyone knew that the only way Josh was going to win this fight was if he got lucky & landed a wild punch. If you noticed, GSP knew this & made sure he minimize that threat. It seems that every time GSP fights, he just gets better as he adds another weapon to his arsenal. Who is left that actually has a chance?

It's like when they first coined the "Superman" punch and then everyone started using it. The same goes for GSP's use of the jab. There are a ton of techniques that MMA'ers don't utilize and i don't know why. Had GSP triple jabbed and hooked, or double jabbed and upper/undercut with his right. He probably would have caught him. Add leg kicks to the equation and boosh
@T1memaster Another combo I kept hoping GSP would use was to pump the jab, right leg kick or round kick to the body, then pump jab, fake the kick to the body or leg, and folow with a left head kick.
That's just how I fight though. Tons of combos, plenty of feints and work him against the cage so the only way to move is either left or right, ie you're gonna catch a kick or a hook on the way out ;)

Sorry but the Chael fight exposted Anderson as being overhyped, he isnt a god, he isnt unbeatable. In fact if you factor in all MMA losses, GSP has the better win ratio and in my opinion fought tougher opponents like Matt Hughes and BJ Penn.

Can you say "boxing lesson"? I enjoyed the fight very much, I always forget that as fans we all know GSP has the tools to take someone apart but GSP is more cerebral. He always uses his head before his fists.
So I was very delighted to see this exibition on the Jab.
The fact that he controlled that entire fight with the jab just showed Kos has a lot more to learn. He got beat with the most basic of striking strategies. Use ur longest/quickest weapon to nullify the opponents power

@URUROTRASH Finally someone else see this fight for what it really was! I was worried that when they started The Ultimate Fighter tv program, that it may go to far. While it is cool to know a little bit about the fighter & how came to the UFC, but it could go too far. I really don't what to see fighters calling every champion out after they win a few fights. When matches are arranged based on the potential PPV sales and not based on the quality of fight, it will be the death of true MMA.

Koscheck didn't get this fight because he deserved a shot at GS P's title, he got the fight because Dana knew he would trash talk &add to the hype, thus selling lots of tickets. Everyone knew that the only way Josh was going to win this fight was if he got lucky & landed a wild punch. If you noticed, GSP knew this & made sure he minimize that threat. It seems that every time GSP fights, he just gets better as he adds another weapon to his arsenal. Who is left that actually has a chance?

Maybe if Koscheck played Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa as his intro music, it could have helped get more up for the fight. It looked like he wasn't trying at all. First Title Fight jitters maybe, but he should have shot for takedowns a lot more. I still love Koscheck, he's awesome

GSP dominated him and you are crying that he couldn't "put him out". The fact was if was very close to the ref stopping fight his eye was so swollen up, however Kosh is a tough fighter as hes shown and lasted the 5 rounds.

@T1memaster In my opinion MMA is taking FOREVER to break out of the mold that was established lets say umm 5 years ago. It's like when they first coined the "Superman" punch and then everyone started using it. The same goes for GSP's use of the jab. There are a ton of techniques that MMA'ers don't utilize and i don't know why. Had GSP triple jabbed and hooked, or double jabbed and upper/undercut with his right. He probably would have caught him. Add leg kicks to the equation and boosh

@T1memaster Another combo I kept hoping GSP would use was to pump the jab, right leg kick or round kick to the body, then pump jab, fake the kick to the body or leg, and folow with a left head kick.
That's just how I fight though. Tons of combos, plenty of feints and work him against the cage so the only way to move is either left or right, ie you're gonna catch a kick or a hook on the way out ;)

Damn! Imagine if GSP was able to throw jabs like those of Oscar de la hoya...he would have knocked the fuck out of Koscheck in 1st round. Although, gsp has only been training with Freddie for a while. I think he can improve his jab more to make it snap cuz it was a little lazy. I'm pretty sure if he continoues to train with freddy he'll pick something off of pacquiao's huge variety of combos.
