To answer the question.. no, we're not an accident. Out of the billons upon billions of planets that likely exist, odds are that there must be thousands upon thousands of other habitable planets. We're not an accident, we're more of an inevitability.

Science also does not claim the big bang expansion happened and magically earth arrived a minute later - it was MUCH more complicated and took billions of years. That's strawmanning science, sir.

After all, how long is a day in genesis? A millions years or so? I see them closer to being alike than anything else, but that is just my perception.

Funny thing is, in science common sense counts for very very little. For example, the majority of the area of an atom is empty space, and so are you. That's right, humans are mostly empty space. Does that make sense? No, but it's the truth.

Common sense is simply a judgment based on our limited experience. No human can conceive of how large the solar system is, let alone the milky way galaxy or the whole universe. Earth didn't just pop into existence as it is today, it took 4 billion years.

Just not agreeing is intellectual dishonesty. You are basically saying "I don't care if what you say is true it doesn't agree with what I've been told so I just don't agree." When this teacher said that Jesus existed what was the proofs they provided? Probably none, it was an appeasement statement or maybe a concession. There are documents talking about people who followed Christianity but there is NO historical documents that are written by an eyewitness that mentions Jesus.

How are the gospels any different than the texts written by Mohammad or the Bahgavad Gita? When someone makes a claim against what I think or believe I go find out. I want to know that what I believe is as truthful as possible. When an authority figure tells you something ask them "How do you know?" Make them be specific. It is highly likely, as when I ask these questions, that they will not know. This is very sad and does not bode well for the truthfulness of Christianity and Christians.

I believe the teacher said that there were documents that described Jesus and co-alligned with the Bible. But i don't think he gave us any specific documents, so I can't really prove that what he said was true.

Exactly, and you need to remember that, especially when a pastor or minister tells you something. When someone says there is "proof or evidence" ask them what it is. Like I said often times they will be very vague or not know at all. If they do give you some evidence then read it. I'll give you some right now. Josephus writes about Jesus, go read about this and then try to look at it from my point of view and why I would object to it as evidence for Jesus.

I am flawed. I can never understand God. I believe that God would never trick us, he just wants us to understand on our own.

And I do believe there is solid evidence that Jesus existed. My World History teacher, who is Jewish, actually said that Jesus did live. I believe that God destroyed those cities because the people were denying God left and right. This was before Jesus came to save everyone, so God's wrath was very mighty. Sometimes scientists think too hard and miss the forest for all the trees. Evolution is more than fairy-tale stuff they are claiming. In this movie ALL the materials are in place to create the different structures. In the case of evolution, there is no consolidation of matter after the big bang. Not to mention building infinitely complex DNA and proteins in the right order.
