According to wiki, the first instance of rick rolling was MAY 2007, not January 2007 (which was when I publicized this video). I only thought the music fitted perfectly with the passing between the three players. Now, if THIS video was the one which directly or indirectly started the whole rick rolling fun, I would be very honored! ;-)
too many people call there vids best goal ever. theres 2 many good goals 2 call 1 the best. players scoring from own half, free kicks, back heels, team goals. for me it depends on the moment, like rivaldo overhead, van bastens volley, giggs, zidane, all important goals.
Hey all, hows it going? you like football manager games right? i found this cool one online footy-manager com its very similar to the football manager game. check it out. its pretty cool actually.
The goal was quality the build up was fantastic but the build up isn't the goal :P hence being called the build up Cant really see that being the best goal ever though. Personally my favourites are the Roberto Carlos ones.
Mendieta's volley against Barca and Rivaldo's bicicletas from outside the area against Valencia sure qualify as the best goals ever, so does Ronaldo's rocket vs Porto!
@SAiKoU88 long shots have been scored even from goalkeepers, as for nice goals outside of the area there are trillions of them! But three long passes like this? I don't think so! ;-)
@SAiKoU88 Yes they are real class. And Rivaldo's was a very important one too (for the Champion's League spot). But importance is not the criteria here.
one of the best things about Klinsmann is no matter how many amazing goals he scored in his career, every time he scored he celebrated as if its his first goal ever.. what an athlete !!
if i was the one with Holland, that was only one pass, this was with two passes and from long distance. If it was the one with Ajax, the same argument applies again. Sorry but it doesn't matter how many a's you place to spell the word far. You still do not justify your reasoning. ;-)
I don't see whats so amazing about this goal. Just a punt across goal to the other side, a lob into the area, landed nicely for an overhead kick about 8 yards from goal.
The amount of World Cups isn't the measurement of how good a International team is. Than i come back at Uruguay, they must be a fantastic team, one of the best ever, because they have 2 world cups.
Oh, and must not forget Zidane vs. Leverkusen. If it's overheads you're after, then Sinclair's is way ayeah od this in terms of anticipation from a long pass, and Mauro Bressan scored one from miles out against Barca in the Champions League. Henry's amazing goal against United was another peach. I also think Pires contol and lob vs. Villa is up there. And who can forget Dennis Bergkamp? :P
Hmm.. definately one of the better goals.. I just have a question though.. there was one goal scored in the 80's.. I think it was England not sure.. but the goal was scored as the ball was bouncing out of the goal line, kicked back in and curved hitting the top post and into the net. statistic probability said the keeper litteraly had to lift his arm to block any surface area to score.. just wondering if you know which goal that is? cause I cant remember the player for the life of me.
ah I'm sorry but your wrong about the goal I'm talking about. it was in the 80's and it was by an English player. but thats all I remember about the time and team. I'm aware of the goal your talking about though. saw it on a tv show (cant remember which) a few years ago. thanks for trying though =/
There have been PLENTY of goals like that. In some cases, the scorer started from the defence, much more far than Maradona. Even Messi scored an identical goal against Getafe. So pleeeease... ;-)
The 1986 goal was a goal of individual class. But rare? I don't think so. There have been many better ones. Sadly, some people only watch World Cup and no domestic league games.
Agreed. Pele scored one in 1961 from his goal line beating entire opposition team. And another one he scored from half line against England, beating 4 or 5 players in 1964 in the Maracana Stadium.
Maradona's the most famous one becos it was scored in a World Cup.
The game was VfB Stuttgart-FC Bayern 3-0 (November 1987), in front of 71000 fans at the Neckarstadion. Klinsmann scored the first goal. I am not sure who was number 10, maybe Karl Algoewer?
For me the best goal is a similar one, a few years earlier than that from Klinsmann - from Klaus Fischer. Many others, including Klinsmann, were so impressed that they copied Fischer's way. But well, both goals are incredible:-)
As I stated many times, this is a combination of three accurate passes between three players, not two. For example, Lothar Matthaeus had also scored a similar goal to van Basten's versus Bochum.
van Basten was also an awesome striker and that goal was breath-taking and very important as it was scored in a Euro final.

@gasson92 Wrong. The build up is clearly PART of the goal. If you reverse it, you can still see the "volley connection". ;-)

@kastellorizo It isn't apart of the goal it's just an assistance which is why the person who crossed the ball in would get the Assist for the goal
