Ahhh... Chuck E Cheese's in 1983.... Basking in the smell of pepperoni, stinky kid feet, and vomit, while eating substandard pizza and watching the music video to Sheena Easton's Almost Over You as you wait for the next creep-tacular animatronic stage show. Good times, good times... XD
that shit used to creep me the fuck out! does anybody remember those fuckin flags that used to swing back and forth along the walls...oh and lets not forget the fuckin ducks feet sticking outta the walls also. and why the hell doesn EVERY chuck e chesse smell the same! like all of them have that musty pizza smell mixed with kids tears.
Does anyone remember the "Bear Jackson" character that they had around '84 or '85? He may have been similar to the Elvis Lion character. I remember though, that the character was actually named "Bear Jackson" and was dressed like Michael Jackson (complete w/the sequined glove). He was on his own stage in the middle of the room, and some little brats kept hanging on him till he broke his arm. LOL! This was in a Chuck E. Cheese in Orange County, CA.
Thank u so much for posting this! I grew up in the 80's and had most of my birthdays at Chuck E Cheese. This is exactly how I remember it. Thanks for putting a smile on my face today. =)
I grew up in the 90's,so I'm just as clueless as kids today. But man, those animatronics are, like y'all said, very whacked out! As for Chuck E.'s personality being cool,he was at his best in the early 90's.
This is how Chuck E. Cheese's was when I was a kid in the 80's - all freaky and scary like that! With the flags waving back and forth on the walls, and the chicken legs kicking from out the walls, and those eyes on the animatronics - how scary were those eyes! We loved it! Kids today don't know how cool it used to be! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Heh...Madame Oink was there the first time I ever went to a Chuck E. Cheese's. Back then I didn't know about the concept of showtapes and delays, etc., so when the robots were in sleep mode, I'd start screaming. Pavlovian theory at its finest.
Lights dim, puppets come alive... cue the terrified screams.

That kind of ChuckE freaks me out. Good thing they renewed it. And he didn't really looked like a rat at all. Mostly like a bear. Very retarded.

Why did the old design for the characters have to be so disturbing?
JGinKorporated 3 years ago 7
The whole Animatronic band thing was the only reason I went to Chuck E. Cheese except for the pizza & the four player TMNT game.
Seth Mcfarlen actually is best friends with the guy who does the music for the Band.
