  • Great commentary. Great job. Ken is the man though. I remember his streak like yesterday.

  • I didn't see this as petty at all. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is when you're actually playing as opposed to just spouting off answers at the TV.

I will say, I thought your explanatory intro was hilarious.

  • this IS pretty petty stuff, dude. tons of other people upload videos of themselves losing without douchey captions explaining *how they just couldn't win because the odds were so stacked against them.* he won millions of dollars--you don't have to be so defensive.

  • is he a cyborg? or does he just have no life?

  • KEN IS BETTER THAN YOU.

  • @paranoid711 did you read tim's commentary at all?

  • @teamguido555 YES AND THAT IS HOW I CAME UP WITH MY ASSUMPTION HERP DERP

  • @paranoid711 okay asshole i don't think tim needs it rubbed in anyway

  • @teamguido555 YOU'RE RIGHT SORRY TIM I LOVE YOU LOLOLO

  • Ken Jennings - The only time i've watched jeopardy. He's pretty amazing!

  • I figure I could do well in Jeopardy, except for the buzzing in on time, which is as you say what really makes the game.

  • Hahaha, "legends"

  • LMFAO what a huge dick! getting BOTH daily doubles

You would have totally won dude, your pretty smart if it weren't for him.

AND THAT WAS SUCH BULLSHIT AT THE END!

I've always wondered for somebody who's been on a game show...

    how pissed were you afterwards?

I can't really say say whether or not I'd punch a wall, or cry. haha

  • lmao stop crying poor baby

  • You played well, but he definitely had the advantage of experience.

  • You thought he'd just be 5-6 day a champ eh.

lol you must've been going bonkers hearing he done 30 days straight..damn I'd hate him lol so fuckin' sharp

  • In his defense, I have heard about this buzzer phenomenon from other champions. I also noticed that there were very few times when there wasn't someone instantly buzzing in to answer the question, which would further back up his claim. That aside, total bitch move making a video crying about how you lost because of a buzzer, Jeopardy is a MAN'S/WOMAN'S GAME, homie. Seriously, you didn't know the final question so you were doomed from the beginning.

  • @turbo2u I didn't lose just because of the buzzer - he definitely knew more than me (including FJ) and I wasn't trying to imply otherwise. I just wanted to make a funny video and let people know about an aspect of Jeopardy most aren't aware of. Sorry if I offended you.

  • lol 33-day champ. fail.

  • it seams to me, that you got your ass kicked, is pissed about it, so you made this video, saying that you don't need to know shit, just be good on the buzzer? no, your just fucking stupid and didn't know the answers, don't be a bitch just because your not the smartest fucking guy in the world

  • @kublkun I wasn't trying to say that at all. Just wanted to let people know about that side of the show. He definitely knew more answers and beat me fair and square. Although I would say that while I'm not the smartest guy in the world, at least I'm not an asshole like you.

  • @TimCrockett Thankyou for an extremely interesting behind-the-scenes look at being a contestant on "Jeopardy".It proves that luck plays such an important part in winning at anything.Do you think it would be better if the challengers had more time to get used to buzzing in?

I'm 54 years old and I remember the old version of "Jeopardy" with Don Pardo. In that version, the contestant could ring in any time. Do you think that this should be the case in this "Jeopardy"?

    Thanks again for uploading.

  • @Tony63909 ditto. Great video. It must be very frustrating with that buzzer..

  • @kublkun

It's smart to call someone stupid and not even be able to use the correct form of you are. Telling someone "your fucking stupid" makes you look like an idiot. If you're going to call someone out on their lack of smarts, at least do it right.

That being said, I'm not the smartest person in the world, and I can still answer a good portion of the Jeopardy questions. Being quick on the buzzer is a key part of the success on jeopardy. Why else do you think he won so much? Experience is key.

  • who hasn't heard of an avalanche?

  • @hansenq That was sarcasm, sorry if I wasn't more clear.

  • it doesn't seem like that long ago he was on, but it was

  • on a positive note your much cuter then him ;D

  • ken seems like a dick but he definitely had more factual knowledge

  • @heyyayy He's a really nice guy. I wanted to hate him but he was too gracious of a winner.

  • Seriously, legend was SO easy

  • Your annotations are hilarious

  • ive heard of an avalanche

  • Ken Jennings is the man.

  • What a baby! Dude, buzzer advantage or not, Ken is WAY smarter than you and you wouldn't have beat him even if you had 3 years of buzzer practice. You got your ass kicked, it wasn't even close!

  • I absolutely agree. With or without the buzzer advantage, Ken still KNEW the answers! He is definitely the trivia king. You can't blame the buzzer; at that amount, it's plain to see your ass got WHOOPED!

  • dude great job!

  • So I take it 10% is knowing the damn questions, 90% is a fucking buzzer. Dang Ken had a sick advantage over anyone. Nice job on second place.

  • tough luck man lol nobody beats ken he gets bored and quits

  • Aww stupid Ken Jennings. You did really well despite him being a buzzer hog though

  • you've never heard of an avalanche? seriously?

  • good job tim! you did better then alot of people!

  • Yea Fuck Ken Jennings. Tim Crockett's The Man!!

  • damn it

    hahahahah!

  • i heard of an avalanche

  • I laugdedddddddddddddddddddded

  • hahaha, Legend.

  • You seemed to do better than a lot of contestants did against him. You did well!

  • lol, very entertaining video

  • OMG!

    A 33-day champion! Wow! He's really smart!

  • 1.1mil is no joke

  • girl in the middle sucked

  • A software engineer from Salt Lake City Utah still rings in my ears to this day.

good thing they put the 3day max back.

  • Congratulations, Tim. Being on Jeopardy! is a feat in itself, and I hope you're proud of your performance because you played a heck of a game against the all-time champ.

    Amusing commentary to boot. =)

  • the catergory is operaaaaaa! damn it

  • wow you really put woman in her place during the first half(just kidding but i like to show it)

  • I think I might have seen this episode before...the only part I remember is the Daily Doubles Ken finds at 6:50 and 7:17 and of course, his winning streak. Can you tell me how you got to put up the text in the background throughout the clip and what program you used for this?

  • hahah brutes..... pretty funny

  • lol good try tim.

  • I'm pretty sure I saw you on Jeopardy. I watched it all the time, cause I was just excited that Ken had gotten so far. my dad kept saying crap like "he's gonna lose". I'm gonna be trying out for the teen tournament in September

  • Great video. I've always wanted to go on Jeopardy.

  • I lol'd when I saw Jennings.

  • I like the game you played against all-time great Ken Jennings. Congratulations even though you lost on Jeopardy! for appearing on the show!

  • Kens grin scares me... o.0

  • that was a great video. you almost had him until halfway.. hit me up and my videos :)

  • You must be bitter. You had your fifteen minutes stamped out by Ken.

  • $1,100,460... damn it! LOL

    Tim, you played good.

You should have said, "My man" after you said "Who is Yanni?" :D

  • lol funny comments. lol at avalanche one and the legend on the daily double.

  • Geological Survey.

    OBVIOUSLY LOl

  • Wow. I feel for you! Did better than I ever would... Haha that was all pretty unfortunate!

  • "..Opera!"

    "Damn it"

    LOL

  • Pretty funny.

  • Heheh nice try man, I agree, LEDGER was WTF easy. So were you gonna bet it all if you had gotten those DD's?

And yeah the judges are notorioiusly anal on stuff like geologic vs geological, especially if that's the proper name.

  • Ken Jennings is infinitely smarter and more humble than you.

  • It wasnt about who was better at clicking the buzzer ken jennings just knew more lol. Stop making excuses because you got OWNED

  • Hey, at least be proud for knowing a Daily Double Ken Jennings didn't know!

  • Try Stump the Master if that ever happens to show up!

  • hey..... im trying out for teen jeopardy, have any advice

  • Yes, and on average mormons are more studious and get higher grades than nonmormons. It was a joke. Get over yourself

  • This was cool little insight...and dont worry about ken his mormon parents made him sit eery day as a child for 8 hours studying jeopardy type questions, in hopes that one day he would rise up as the jeopardy savior... which he did.

  • Do you know anything about Mormons?

  • HAHA that sucks, of all the people to go against.

  • haha man that sucks alot. Ken Basically owned you. good job though.

  • Good job though, you probably could have had the win if you weren't competing against Ken Jennings. Ken Jennings is pretty much the new Chuck Norris. ; )

  • You may want to check a dictionary before you criticize someone's spelling, chief.

  • From NationMaster:

Dammit is a spelling variation on the slang word formed by the combination of the words "damn" and "it". The word is primarily used to express frustration or anger. As a single word, "dammit" is the incorrect spelling, though "dammit", "damn it" and "dang it" are common variations.

  • It is.

  • Dammit is also a word, just as "Damn" and "it" are.

  • I suppose you're right.

  • owned

  • wowof all people to go up against lol i feel for ya.

  • Possibly the worst opponent to be playing if you want a chance to win. Way to get second though!

  • wow.. this is horribly hilarious..

    im so sorry

  • yanni is my man 4:40 soo funny

  • Looks like you were just one unlucky guy. You took your "whooping" like a man though. Great commentary.

  • Man, you picked a bad time to be on the show. Nice try. I usually watch it and think "yeah I could compete", but that guy was an encyclopedia.

  • I love the post..

  • haha ken jennings is my hero.. good stuff thouugh

  • I must say, Ken Jennings is actually funny!

  • I was thinking Russian on the Final Jeopardy too.

  • Duh, it is French! Does the man not listen to ANY classical music??

  • Great commentary.

  • loved ur commentary :)

  • Lol I liked your commentary

  • wow impressive!

  • Great post.

Tim, how much preparation did you do? Did you use an almanac, atlas, etc.?

  • Ahhh they just replayed this one on GSN last week (they are replaying all of Jennings streak). If I would've saw this earlier, I would've warned you so you could get a better quality copy.

  • you had him for a while

  • bum deal u lost man. funny commentary though.

  • Was this episode taped before Ken's streak began to air on TV?

  • It taped several months before it aired, so I had no idea who Ken was until I got there.

  • I was just trying to make a funny video about my experience going up against the champ. Believe me - I know I got beat fair and square and I'm not bitter in the slightest. I think you need to take things like this a bit less seriously - not everyone on Youtube is here to howl with rage at the world.

  • Maybe in Ken's 75th game, he probably wanted to retire. xD

  • And, Tim, GSN will start airing ep.s with Ken today, so you know what that means!

OK, I'll tell you. GSN will show your episode.

  • Well, to be honest, the question where Ken said "Legend", i would have said "Key", would that have been accepted? :(

And does anyone know what happened to Ken? Who beat him, or did he drop out?

  • On his 75th game, Ken guessed FedEx for "Most of their 75000 white-collar employees work only 4 (or was it 3?) months a year." The opponnet (Nancy Zerg; the other guy didn't make it) correctly said H&R block, and the rest was history.

I think he did that on purpose (he was smiling when the audience gasped).

  • I watch Jeopardy every day, and they usually don't give out points for people that make up words such as "geologic". It would have been 'BULLSHIT' if they would have given you points for that.

Also, you act like Jeopardy gave Ken 33 games to practice. I'd have to say he earned those 33 attempts. You were given as fair a chance as the other 150 people that faced Jennings.

You're kind of a bitch, dude.

  • *sniff* That's what my dad said to me at my graduation!

Seriously, I know Ken was the far superior player, the video is just trying to show what it's like to go up against the champ.

  • geologic is not a made up word you genius

  • lol@the message 0:51 into it.

  • There is NO way someone knows that much stuff. No way. Commentary was great.

  • Bitter much?

  • that usgs thing was bullshit.

  • Hah, you didn't mention anything about Ken being a software engineering with a category of "computer programs". Then getting opera.. not to mention missing the daily double, loads of bad luck. Tonnes of those surprise LOL moments everywhere. Just imagine.. if you beat him... I'd have only been good for the "legend" and "avalanche" type questions...

  • those 2 daily doubles was gay lol (too bad Ken had a photographic memory.....)

  • wow

  • You did a good job m8. Yea the USGS answer was kind of bull. They do that alot now. They gotta be so exact. But you did a good job, you just got a bit unlucky with the Daily Double thing. And thanks for the expirience with the lock out. I had no idea =). Good Job

  • Ken looks too happy at the beginning.

  • Very Informative!!

And I love your humorous commentary!

  • You did your best but it just come to show that when you playing against Ken, you knew you gonna lose.

  • RdSoxFan: Why would you hate on ken? because this tim guy got locked out?? And Tim, its obvious that Ken had an advantage over you with the timing, you don't need to post your excuses. And he had that advantage by being smart and good at Jeopardy in order to keep winning.

  • Lmao! Thanks for sharing this experience with us...didn't know about the 'locked out' part. I should make IHateKenJennings[dot]com

  • LOL 8:24 "Damn it"

ha ha nice one I would've said the same thing

  • lawls poor guy

    he only wanted to win

  • 8:26 LMAO

  • pwned

  • Still a good show against Ken!

  • damn it. thanks for sharing!

  • LOL. thats a really good vid, with the words added in every so often to accompany what was going on during the show. It's too bad you lost to that bastard. He's damn good though!

  • stop crying like a girl

  • Power to you man. That video was actually pretty educational too.

  • i think i actually watched this episode w/ my grandma...lol

  • sorry i meant from the first part of reg. jeop to the 2nd part

  • Ken Jennings wow

  • Tough luck but hey you sound like a smart guy. Oh, no offense.. but you must've had a sucky double jeopardy, because you were at the same point after regular jeopardy. but you did really well

  • Ken Jennings. He lived in Utah, but now I don't know where he went with all that money...

  • Well done, damn it. Do 2nd place finishers get better prizes than 3rd place?

  • yeah 2nd place get 2000 1st place get 1000

  • Thanks for the insight into Jeopardy. I was on several TV quiz shows in high school and you're right--it's all about the timing.

  • good try...you wouldve whooped my ass for sure

  • that commentary was really funny

  • You looked kinda cool, but that Jennings guy pwned you. Don't feel bad. He pwned in total 147 other players.

  • LOL! "Damn it."

  • we are LUCKY that this guy was on TV and actually went on youtube and posted a video of him for us >_>

  • dont make excuses for losing

  • ken has a face you wanna slap

  • "What are the munchies, man??" LOL...

  • At least you're honest about your esp work.

  • Your comments act like you think it is Kens fault you suck get over it. YOU GOT OWNED

  • this is SO FUNNY!!!

  • great video, and great job.

  • That was awesome! and i love the captions. Legend question....i think we learn that in thrid grade geology (not Geological!!) so for 1600 or 2000, that was stupid. But great video and captions!! You rock tim! you'd whoop any soccer mom! lol,jk. 2nd place aint bad to a genius.

  • yeah, except you probably would have learned about a map legend in GEOGRAPHY.

  • i think for final joepardy your answer should have been buck and wager should have been futter.

    see what they do.

  • Do you still work at the casino?

    What was your college major?

  • I like your sense of humor.

That Ken Jennings though, hes a show-off and a know-it-all. As if a million bucks wasn't enough for him.

    He looked like a Yuppie.

  • yeah like you would just quit if you were in his position.

  • lol this was entertaining. I love the captions.

  • i was on jeopardy and i can say a lot of what you say is true, all 3 contestants know about 70% of the questions, its timing.

fortunately i had good timing. xD

    i liked the commentary.

  • Thanks for the insiders perspective....I found it interesting

  • Cool video, thanks for posting. Yeah that 'legend' question was about the easiest daily double ive ever seen.

  • I don't think he's a sore loser. I'd put out a narrating video as well. It's a little presumptuous to think you'd beat Ken, but it's still cool that one of the people's asses he kicked posted their beating on youtube. thanks for the entertainment. now i only have to wait another 22 hours for jeopardy to come on tv again.
