RIP Don Cornelius...you were a legend and brought us all this amazing music...you gave it a name and you gave it a place in this world...you will be missed...
Just as I remember it. Starting 8th grade in the fall of 1972, I didn't really appreciate the fact that I had spent the previous year watching the first year of a show with so much Historical significance. EVERY Saturday I was in front of the TV absorbing musical history in the making; and it happened to be just as I was coming of age. I truly felt like "Soul Train" was a validation of my taste in music. R.I.P. Don Cornelius!
We lost he king of POP ! Now the King of DANCE Shows! what a Man ,the once news reporter that interviewed Martin Luther king and to creating and hosting the greatest Dance /entertainment show of all time!
@freein2339 I noticed that too...but are they lip syncing then?? cos this 'live' version sounds exactly like the recording! Oh, and @Dawanna77 the guy in the white pants at 2:30 is PRICELESS!!!
This music has fed my heart and soul for as long as I can remember. Just pure class.

Great music. Great lyrics. Great voices (including Don's). Great hair (including Don's). The clothes? Uh, let me get back to you on that one...
I'll bet the animation at the end was done by the same man who did "The Adventures of Letterman" on PBS' "The Electric Company."
