Thank you for your wonderful vid...only a comment, but please slow down and/or enunciate more clearly...it's hard to understand what you're saying and I want to catch the whole list. Thanks.
Within your thoughts of longevity for your lifespan, have you thought of sustainability of the planet? I work at a sustainable sushi restaurtant (Miya's Sushi in New Haven, CT).
We are very focused on healthy and sustainable options, and plenty of gluten free things as well. I'm new to the idea of having an organic and looking at what makes up what I eat (like gluten and different acids, vitamins, etc); so I'm enjoy watching your videos so far.
@RealRawMatt Cool, yeah there's a whole archive, the recent one's he's been in Australia and Tasmania. Almost falling asleep on the phone because he starts the 2 hour interviews at midnight his time :p
@RealRawMatt Interesting, and now you're eating how much more? Do you follow the Life Food dietary parameters? I've been wanting to get some of his books for awhile, I love his interviews on oneradionetwork (.) com (he's done a monthly interview there for a couple of years if you haven't heard them).
I used to really suffer with the cold. I recently made a short video about it. I feel great now. I love this weather in the UK - Blizzards and 2 foot deep snow! .... I might change my tune if I can't get out to buy fresh food produce!
Check out that kilo of colostrum! Does it last you a whole month? I'm really excited for your new diet exercise venture on 12-01. I'd love to know how to have more mass. Gotta say that from watching the video your diet is excellent already.
@RevKale I you do the recommended dosage it should last you a year (1 teaspoon per day) I usually do 2 teaspoons to one tablespoon per day so it'll last at least 6 months.
@RawFoodVeganSungazer It's around 2,000, more than enough :) I'll be calculating what I eat per day tonight actually and making any necessary adjustments for my upcoming program that starts tomorrow!
Have you ever drank milk from a guerney I heard it is the sweetest of all the cow milks. I drink jersey as well and digest it with ease. I like sheep and goat milk but they're expensive as hell. They go for 13 dollars a gallon....But then again money and happiness is our birthright in my humble opinion...
@rzarzarzarza84 From LifeGive, there's a supplier in Toronto whom I don't know but I buy it through a friend, send me a pm with where you life and I'll give you his number etc.
A lot of the masters talked about only eating twice a day as well, and eating no more than two mina of food a daily, From Luigi Cornero to the Hunzas they eat about 1400 calories a day and they're fine. of course if you are an athlete or bodybuilder you need more but do you because just look at Bikram Choudry he eats only once a day very little in fact and he does very intense exercises. He says let yoga be your food. I do think he needs more minerals because of sweating but calories hmmm....
I do eat bananas about one a day, apples because hybridization is a natural thing it is when man hybridizes his food for too much taste not enough nutrients and medicine. A pure holy diet is not composed of many bitter herbs alkaloids for they disturb the bodily functions from my experience. Tonics are different U know already, Also you should look up brad pilon on protein
Have you read Siddhartha the book it is truly heartful and you should read it man
I thought honey was supposed to taken alone in Ayurveda medicine it is a food it should be taken alone. Take care friend also kiwis are hybrids too. I eat a mostly sattvik diet too except I do like my eggs so once a week or twice rarely though I break it. Sprouted low cooked bread my staple. That's a lot of green juice I drink a lot of barley juice, and a lot of kelp powder as well some colustrum.
Did you say that was raw milk? I'm from Ontario but understand raw milk is illegal unless you are part of a cow-share program... how did you get yours?
Do you drink your raw milk soon after it is milked? Some people say that within 5 minutes raw milk becomes inedible and you have to boil it first before you consume. What do you think about that?
I also wanted to politely point out that your pronunciation of tamasik and rajasik is not okay, the stress should be on the first syllable. (I'm Indian).
@tigerkitten927 There's 650 capsules per bottle. You can get one on that site with 150 or so for much less. They're the Hippocrates Institute's Enzymes
oh, another question. i usually take cod liver for D3. But I am thinking of getting some drops of D3. I heard that you have to get it from an animal source so that it is sure to be D3 or that it won't stay in your body or something like that. I know the sunlight is best, when the liver and kidneys make it, but hey, we're at 45 degrees, so no UVB til march. what kind do you take? I felt like the lady at the health store was telling me n'importe quoi so that I would buy something, la connasse.
@ThomasDeanNordlum Mushrooms do have a lot when they're exposed to UVB rays while growing, but I take RAW-D by "garden of life" supplements. It's a whole food based supplement where they feed D3 from sheep's wool to a yeast and it multiplies it hundreds of times more. I'm very careful about cod liver oil and fish oils because of their extremely high rate of rancidity. The Raw-D is between $15 and $20 for a bottle of 60 2,000 iu capsules which is a great price. There's cheaper but it's crappier.
bonjour zak. how do you feel about just making smoothies rather than juices? to me it seems a bit more ideal, but that's me. I make sprout smoothies (grow them myself too) with sprouted lentilles or sarazin and whatever root vegetables I still have around from my garden. because i eat seasonally, the only greens i get now are my sprouts, gotta wait til april for the dandelions here in québec.
@ThomasDeanNordlum Like blended green smoothies? They're alright, the point of a juice is you get way more greens (or other plant material) then you could fit into one drink. It's the essence of the plant without the fiber. However you like to get your veggies in is best!
@SecretsOfLongevity yeah. i used to make kale ones every day, but i don't have a juicer. so with a juicer, is the idea that you consume maybe three times as much of the «essence» of greens, since the actual matter is less, but the essence is more?
@ThomasDeanNordlum Yeah, I don't know if it's exactly 3 times more, it's probably more. For instance in the juice I was drinking their was over a pound of vegetables and sprouts.
How long have you been on this type of diet, and how did the transition to this type of diet affect some of the past food you were accustomed to eating? (IE: cravings. I'm sure there was some foods you may have enjoyed in the past that you no longer touch.)
@TwistedBarney I don't eat spaghetti or other cooked grains at all anymore, those probably had the strongest cravings associated with them. I've been working with and changing my diet for maybe 7 years?... It's been in it's current state for roughly 2 years without massive change.
@SecretsOfLongevity You probably had to change it little by little rather than all at once right? A lot of what you take in is pretty pricey, so I can't imagine you having access to a lot of that when you lived under your parents' wing for example. That's the case with me right now. I've not much of an option but to eat what they eat.
@TwistedBarney I was not eating like this while living at home, no, but I did start changing things back then. I became vegetarian and bought some of my own foods that I wanted. The most expensive items are the least important in my diet.
@SecretsOfLongevity I see. What do you do during like, family get-togethers or going to restaurants with friends, or other general social outings? Do you abstain from the foods they consume and just have a glass of water or something of the sort?
Hmm, ineresting. I've never had a big problem with raw cacao at all and I have been consuming it for a long time. I've seen some people who shoot down raw cacao as being too stimulating fail to mention that perhaps they aren't getting other essential nutrients, which might be the cause of those bags under their eyes, rather than long-term cacao use. I usually take holy basil in my cacao elxirs along with a good omega 3 food source, which can help prevent being to 'stimulated.'
@JackNeedles I often combine those things too when I consume cacao (plus I had consumed it daily for over 3 years) and I'm definitely not shooting it down! I do use it from time to time and after a certain break from it I plan to consume it again more frequently but just not as much as I had been.
It does affect my mind (which is why it is labeled a rajasic food) and lead to difficulties in gaining focus during meditation.
Thank you for your wonderful vid...only a comment, but please slow down and/or enunciate more clearly...it's hard to understand what you're saying and I want to catch the whole list. Thanks.
