Some time I just use the sks and a .270. You need two weapons to depending on the range and the need to kill them quickly if they are injured. I doubt if you are a real hunter.

@deano509 If you hit them in the butt they will run, and goats will run anyhow even when badly wounded due to adrenalin. With a bow you should never hunt unless you are really good, but even then you can get bad shots as with a rifle. I always carry a rifle with me when I bow hunt.

Actually the first weapon i shot, was a 4-10 slug out of a snake charmer when i was six at a wild hog. I'm 22 now and have killed hundreds of them, mainly with spears, it's fun that way. I have hunted Africa twice, with a .375. Great Caliber, and i go out west almost every year for elk and mule deer.

But i'd like to move out to Colorado after i get my masters. I haven't hunted bear yet but my father has. I always have class when he goes. There are bear here in Florida, black bear, but not big. Many animal populations in Canada are growing out of control and are being taken by disease or, as is the case with the black bears on Vancouver Island and in the lower mainland, becoming dangerous pests. Humans are not above the food chain and just because most people do their hunting in the local grocery store it does not make their hands any less bloody.

But killing dangerous and diseased animals, although absolutely necessary should not make someone cum in their pants. We should feel empathy toward the animals we slay, not giddy. And why do we go to such remote areas to kill healthy animals in their native habitat for sport? that's not conservation is it?
