  • I particularly like the elegance of Ibert's music. And you played it very elegantly!

  • Well played mate.

  • u tend to move a lot dude. i have the same problem. it detracts from the playing.

  • @4znhatred my mom, with no musical background said he looks constipated.

  • @MahoRoulete Damn, typically i find musical background is necessary to see when someone looks constipated, she's obviously a natural :D

  • great playing! and FANTASTIC pianist!

  • I lovelovelove this. I'm just learning it now. It's so funnn :D

  • very good! congratulations!

    where you study?

  • my dad played this in 10th grade in front of rampal..sadly he chose to be a teacher lolz

  • You have a great lower register combined with a clear, ringing upper register. You did great work on this piece! Thanks for posting.

  • Wow, I am so happy that there is hope for the Danish flute scene! ;) I love your sense of rhythm, the way you structure frases and make it all a bit funnier listening to! Keep taking the musical chances, they make you stand out from the rest. Are you doing Nielsen competition? Or have done, maybe?

Oh, and don't EVER get rid of that pianist! She matches you perfectly, Ibert can get so muddy, and this is just bliss!

*happy day in my life as a flutist*

  • wow you're great! How old are you ?!

  • what a good sound... really really good.

i wanna have like that sound! :D

  • this piece of music is very difficult to play and you did a very good job! amazing.

  • you're amazing!!

  • Very good!!!

  • Lol I have to perform this tomorrow and I can hope to be about half as entrancing as you....

  • wow

    great job

I'm working on this with my flute teacher right now

  • Heya!

Okay, so-First off, very fine performance (great music-fun to play)! You're an excellent musician.

Second, have you ever heard of "La Persienne" by Reza Najfar??? O_o Very wonderful piece of music (CRAZY hard!) that I've only ever heard once, but that I fell in love with immediately. I would be VERY impressed if you played it well (I'm sure you could-it's just REALLY insane-it puts this to shame). ANYWAY, I think you should perform it. Or at least look in to it. Good stuffs. :D

  • shoegazer lol

  • the belt again! :D

    good playing too. yes.

  • This is a very polished performance, I don't know why there are people even have the balls to talk shit.

  • great !

  • amazing job! i just performed this a month ago and i love the ibert. i absolutely love your tone in the slow part of this movement.

  • very very nice. i love ur tone and the cleanliness of ur articulation, as well as ur ability to maintain very steady technique and tempo, even tho the pianist rushed sometimes.

i think your position is weird tho o_o. why are u holding ur flute at almost a 45 degree angle below the horizontal? it looks weird

  • Have you ever watched James Galway play? He does not hold his flute even close to horizontal.

  • haha.. you've got a point.. ;)

  • haha accually.. be the end of a long piece i think its closer to vertical

  • Because it's comfortable... Obviously it's working for him! :-)

  • bine gandit , dar poti canta si mai bine! stii asta! bravo!

  • You are amazing.

  • I love your flute performances.

    Thanks for posting.

With whom do you study ?

Who are your favourite flautists ?

What are your favourite pieces ?

  • Thanks.. :)

I study with Toke Lund Christiansen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Planning on moving to Geneva to Jacques Zoon or to Munich to Andras Adorjan

Emmanuel Pahud and Michel Debost must be my favourites.

    Ooh. Difficult question.

At the moment I'm very fascinated with Liebermann flute pieces as the Flute and Piccolo Concerto, Penderecki flute concerto & Berio Sequenza

  • You seem to like difficult pieces... ;)

Andras Adorjan is one of my favourite flautist.

Do you want to become flute solo of a Orchestra ? (I'll buy your CDs)

  • hehe.. Yeah. Don't know why.. Actually, i'm quite happy with Gaubert's Madrigal too at the moment and that's not difficult.

He's great.. And his pupils too. And then he's part Danish.

That's my dream yeah.. But to me it seems that you not only have to be the best. You also have to be damn lucky.. And that's difficult.

  • You are passionate and realistic (furthermore it's not easy to leave family and friends for studying), I hope the best for you.

Maybe you'll like some of Boehm's pieces :)

  • I tried a couple of Boehm pieces so far. The Air on Molinara, Grande Polonaise, ´Var. theme of Schubert and Air Suisse. Take a look at my webpage and suggest some good pieces..

  • Nice (and difficult) pieces, not surprised you tried them. ;)

    Your repertoire is very broad!

Do you like birds? If so, you'll like :

-Bird of the Forest, Op. 21 (Franz Doppler)

-The Carnival of the Animals : The Aviary (Camille Saint-Saëns)

    And (beautiful):

-Flute Concerto in E minor (after Violin Concerto in D minor) (Franz Benda)

-Flute Concerto in A minor (Franz Benda)

-Flute Concerto in D major (Michael Haydn)

Do you like the flute lessons at the Academy?

  • "I find that the harder I work.. the luckier I am" Thomas Jefferson

.. dont worry, I have a feeling youll be damn lucky!

  • you are really good

  • i like ur low notes mr carnivorious.

  • hi.. Yeah hope you like it.

Now i'm playing on an Altus PS(1707) with an Arista 14k gold headjoint. I can really recommend Arista flutes!

But on the Nocturne... i played on a Muramatsu EX model.

I've been playing for 8 years now. Started when I was 10.

  • Well, I started before you but I've only been playing for 8 years too. And you're, may I say, about a million times better than I am.

  • very nice playing! what type of flute do u play? how long have u been playing?

  • Thanks. At the time this video was shot I wasn't. Now I am though. On the royal academy. Working on uploading more.. :)

  • You play very well. Thanks very much for posting. Do you study at a conservatory in Denmark?
