i am about to purchase it also for my is, but i am concerned about the lighting on the avh matching the interior cluster, ac controls,amber type color.

In your video the avh lighting looks more orange and it dosent seems to match completely to the lexus interior lights.

does it match the lexus interior lights more in person ?

if you choose red does it match better ?

Or can you choose a custom color to match better then you had it ?

@asianmelb If you are talking about AVI movies then it should. PS3 does, my Sony alarm clock Dream Machine does. Anything really that plays AVI movies will play them straight from the flash drive which connects to USB. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that if the Pioneer radios that play DVDs and other formats like AVI would play straight from a flash drive. Yes? No? :P

A guy at the shop told me that Kenwood are better and I said I like Pioneer better. Who agrees with me that Pioneer radios are better? I like that the screen can be adjusted and opens up to load the disc, whereas with Kenwood radio (at least the one that was showed to me at that shop) did not have that. So there you go... :P

@BlueSmokeBurnOut Just regular old rabbit ears, reception sucks while mobile unless you're close to TV towers.

@BlueSmokeBurnOut Lol, no prob, yes same type of converter box, you can use any antenna like you used to for analog tv's I have a Jensen antenna (rabbit ears) I installed in the trunk. At least here in Phoenix, it works on the highway while mobile, other than that you have to be stationary to get reception...it keeps cutting out cuz you need a constant signal...in that sense I miss analog!

Hi, does it bother you that the angle of the screen is fixed? I have IS300 as well, on the market looking for in-dash dvd player. Best for the money is either this one or the latest model of yours (P3200DVD), but it sucks that the face is not detachable, and since i'm on a budget I might have to compromise and leaning towards other no-name brand (power acoustik) since i got my car bashed 2 times few years ago.

The reason I asked about the angle cos i know that the din position is kinda low .. might take a slight extra time to glance between the unit and windshield while driving

I purchased my pioneer a couple weeks ago on Ebay for $297..Brand New!!..Got it from Electronic Outlets...I hooked it up, works great....Had to hook up a toggle switch for the video to play while driving, but thats expected...

@kickerlivingloud423 Yeah that's the only problem with DTV, it only comes in when there's a fixed signal, so when you're driving around, if the signal is not strong enough, it cuts out :(

@necaxa87 sorry for the late response man. Could you put up a video showing how to use the iphone on the 3100? All you need is any DTV box, a power inverter, and an antenna to get TV in your car.

Have to have a special cable to play the video. Buy it on amazon probley. Sometimes you have to use both the auxilary input and the usb at the same time. The 3100 I BELIEVE you don't have to, but maybe.

actually .mp4 n .avi will work. Since u able 2 play the ipod video on your console n which is .mp4 file, so I don't see any problem of not able 2 play if u using a usb drive. BTW u can use your external HDD 2, so u can store more movie, music, movies etc. All u need is 2 get an extension usb cable. I got portable HDD which has about 1TB in it. I dont have 2 carry load of dvd or my ipod. N oh yea I guess I'm the 1st 1 2 use an external HDD on this unit. Just rem. u heard from me 1st lol.

I tried the HDD thing and MP4 on a jump drive, no luck. HDD say unplayable file. MP3's work off the jump drive...and no video off the iphone (1st Gen) only audio :(

they do but they're a PITA to use!You have a code on your stereo you have to register before you can play divx,ive done that and converted movies to divx and onto a usb stick and they still dont play in the stereo.VERY ANNOYING!!!

I bought the Pioneer 3100 at Bestbuy, had them price match Amazon, and a Duracell power inverter. Got the RCA digital converter box at Wal-Mart. You need a dash kit which can be supplied at your local car stereo place, anyway they have to by-pass your stock amp by rewiring all the speaker, there's no loss of sound quality, only an improvement if anything.

I had Soundwerks run an A/V cable to the passenger side from the back of the deck, I put in a power inverter, hooked up the DTV box to it, ran an antenna from the trunk, and it was good to go!
