  • E. T. - Greatest country singer that ever lived.

  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES...R.I.P UNCLE,FRIEND AND DAD...WE MISS U!

  • admiro a este hombre, mi padre que en paz descanse desde que hera niña me enseño sus canciones. y cada vez que las escucho el dia de hoy me hacen recordar cosas bellas de mi infancia. thank you for this magic miusic.

  • If I remember correctly Ernest had some type of throat surgery when he was younger and it affected his vocal chords...hence the unmistakeable sound. It's fun trying to emulate the way he sings.

  • @steelag70 he had his tonsils removed. if u listen to his early stuff u can hear the difference.

  • @longhorn234504 Yes, there is a HUGE difference!

    God Bless ~Amy

  • ***** ALL STARS *****

  • This ol' stadard will still fill any dance floor in Texas today! Jimmy Heap and Perc Williams had the first "chart" on it...

  • was he a smoker? his voice got very much deeper as he aged

  • Yes he was, he died of emphysema, I have suffered the same deepening of singing voice due to smoking, but in ET's case, and the Possum too, you gotta drink alot of booze and smoke alot to sing that damn good.......

  • @dbarnett87 He smoked like a chimney

  • why is the intro missing? i would really like to see it for steel purposes.

  • love it! by the way, who originally wrote this song? have been having prbms finding out ( personally DO NOT LIKE the umberdink version ), thanks!

  • probably jimmie rodgers, ET was a big fan of his but some question remains as to the original author.

  • Eddie Miller (1946)

  • Wikipedia---- "Release Me" (1946 song), a song by Eddie Miller

  • Don't Jakes Pebworth, and Robert Yount. They were co-writers

  • No question remains as to the original author -- it's Eddie Miller (1946). Ray Price and Kitty Wells had the definitive versions. Screw Humperdink.

  • Here's another great guitar player... Steve Chapman! remember him back with Reno & Smiley many years ago.

  • His out of tune voice is so in tune. Can listen to mr Tubb for hours and hours

  • A real classic -
