I find it funny that this is the exact color, trim level and style (sedan) as my car. Nice to know exactly how it would look after a crash, lol...
BTW, for anyone on this page looking to purchase a Fiesta, it is the best car ever made. Ever. Not even joking. My friends still can't believe I paid 16k for it, most of the estimates are around 20k...
@UKRAINERULES253 I've just noticed how a lot of foolish and silly Americans are pouring hate scorn on Hondas in favour of FoMoCo's new line up of junk products. Just because its reasonably priced and packed fully loaded with needless gadgets to make you go "Ooo... ahhhh" doesn't actually make it a better car. When the Ford claps out in a puff of steam or bursts into flames because of the electrical gadget malfunctions you will soon realise what Hondas are here for...
@Zerolagg Rebound reasons. When the side curtain airbags deploy in a frontal crash, it reduces head injuries when it rebounds back toward the seat. If the dummy leans toward the widow, it will come in contact with the airbag rather than smashing through the side glass or hard structures like the door sill or B-pillar.
@coonish28 Younger people need good jobs too. If the young people get a good education and good American jobs, maybe the US won't end up trillions of dollars in debt.
So now 21 year olds get to be spokespersons? He barely just got out of high school. This recession has a lot of 30 yr old to 60 yr olds out of jobs and these little hot shot shit college students get a cushy jobs like that. What the hell? Make younger Americans work in road construction or keep the bastards waiting tables, dont give them $65,000 year jobs just because. America is so backwards right now. It really is...oh by the way I like the Fiesta, its seems very safe.
@coonish28 Wow really? Think about it like this. I'm younger, better looking, Smarter, savoy with my hand and eye coordination, and the list goes on. Step aside and let the youth take a piece of action. Do you have an new car, an Ipod, Ipad, or mac book air? I do and I didn't make honors in my class and get my masters not to get a job that pays out six figure sums to get them. Plus nobody wanted to hear a 30+ year old mechanic talk about a new Fiesta anyway.
i'll tell you something: you will be old faster than you can ever imagine. My 93 E34 525iA can compete without problems with your fiesta. it is faster (225km/H, 9.5sec. 0-100), more comfortable (automatic transmission, leather interior, cruise control), cheaper (buy it for 1900€ with an LPG system), sounds better with a 6 cylinder engine and even has a bordcomputer with more function than the one of todays fiesta. and do you really pride yourself on your macstuff? lol
@Andreas1986xyz I agree with you I used to have an old E36 which was a brilliant car. RWD, ESR, half leather interior, RCL, E/M, front/rear E/W, all round disks, oil service indicator, MPG needle. Everything I want. Fiestas have all this stupid i-pod and bluetooth but they don't even have nice comfortable seats, rear disk brakes, rear electric windows, or even a gas piston just to prop the bonnet. Get this, Fiestas aren't even rust proofed. Yeah er... thats something to be really proud of...
@Lexlus42 Just for the count I had a gay boyfriend who was well in his 30's and he was far better looking then any other guy my own age otherwise I wouldn't have gone out with him. Best of all he was so laid back, easy to talk to, knew so much, had a nice car but drove it sensibly and he was caring so what more can I ask for. Not like these other twats I've been out with who are sickeningly deluded about a smartly dressed sales job, drive a cheap fast car but treat me like shit.
@bigt1nyhatch Exactly! They have this gadgety on board voice activated dialling and voice activated crud with i-mac shite so you can link your Laptop to it with stupid light up princey dashes and colourful mood lighting. But it doesn't have an alarm for or even spare wheel/kit in the boot for crying out loud. The joke stereo is a junk quality sound system. I saw how this car still uses the 15 yearold style exhaust which is 2 straws welded to a coke can, oh how I laughed... Modern? Umm no.
@coonish28 Some of you old farts need to quit being so narrow minded. Segregation is over with, Homosexual couples are getting married, and the New Ford Fiesta has best in class safety. (topic related Ford Fiesta)
@Lexlus42 Right ok, So have you ever come across a car called a Volkswagen Polo before? Well how can I put this... It got the same safety ratings as a Ford Fiesta and always had done and um... It turns out Volkswagen actually designed the Polo to deflect lightening strikes like the VW Golf does... And um... The Polo is made with rust resistant coatings and wax undercoats. Hate to say this but Fiestas are not protected against mother nature and they aren't the only safest car in their class...
isn't it funny how they build a bunch of cars to just wreck them must be an awesome job (obviously i know its super important for safety and all but still id like to crash some cars all day long)
There is a limit as to what you can make with recycled steel and sanitary products. But engineers do great things with what they are 'allowed' to use.
Imagine some tough polyurethane bumpers and fenders that are reuseable after impact. Get a shearing hit on the window pillars and you lose your hairdo.
But, I'd be happy with a Fiesta. Don't want to offend the local pathologist.
@mchlwngr they designed a more robust door handle to prevent the doors from opening in a side impact crash. more or less the latch was designed to be more robust
@mchlwngr Don't know if anyone has replied to this or not, but saying they redesigned the door handles is an improper way of saying what they really did. What they really did was redesigned the door LATCHES which greatly changes the side impact rating because if the door holds together better and holds onto the rest of the car it transfers energy into the frame... instead of the energy of the other car passing through the door and into your seats, and eventually you.
@demover7 So lame get a real car. The Ken Block car is rebuilded with rol cage, professional buckets seats, professional seat belts, special Fuel cell, special harnes for battery, engine, reinforced suspension, etc, etc, etc at the end is not a common road Fiesta. C'mon get a better standart for a car.
@ale2031977 C'mon again. Read right i said "a better standart" that means a one notch up for safety, confort, size, engine power and size, almost same fuel economy, etc, etc. Not just a SUV, there is Crossovers, Sedans, etc. Mazda3, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, EcoSport, and so on.
Of course the "good" rating is only in comparison to other sub-compacts. If you compared to heavier cars and trucks it would suck so back you wouldn't ride in one. The car industry, including InsideLineVideo, doesn't want you to know/think about that.
@ndyt Are you sure it's "good" rating isn't based off a specified check list of some sort that requires certain outcomes of each crash to evaluate what the end rating will be?
I find that a comparison rating system is severely flawed. But of course, if it's compared with other vehicles in the same category, then it simply lacks much meaning.
@asdfgoogle, I am old enough to remember when they changed it back in the 1980's. Back then only trucks and really big cars got a high rating and all small cars always did poor. It is why people started buying SUVs in first place.
this is why ken block drives one!

Side airbags should not deploy in a frontal crash, you might need them if another car hits you in the side.
mrcr4ck3r 1 year ago
@mrcr4ck3r your head might deflect and they stay inflated longer than the main airbag.
