  • God I want one of these so badly XO They just look so old and smart!

  • This is amazing. I have a lurcher, and one day I want a wolfhound. They are the perfect breed if you have the space, and willingness to walk them :D

  • Chewbacca

  • I met my first Irish Wolfhound in 1973 when I was at UC Santa Cruz. We had an open campus and a lady in one of my classes brought her wolfhound to class. Wonderful dog!

  • WHY WAS HE CRYING?

  • Haha, awwww... one of our irish wolfhounds use to make similar sounds quite often whenever we made small howling sounds!

  • I'm so glad he got to go to the park!!!!

  • Oh he his precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels, but it must be worse than what happened to me since Liam was only 4 years old :( I had a Rottweiler up until I was 6 and he was almost 11. He died of osteosarcoma, as well. Still today, sometimes wehn I see his picture, I still cry a little. RIP Reggie + Liam. Forever In heaven, but for be loved.

  • i get very excited when dogs are named after me

  • How cute! <3

And gosh, they're so big xD

  • that got annoying fast.

  • how long do they usually live to ?

  • @TheShannonMontana 6 to 8 years

  • @tallstech0711 awe no :( thats pretty short!

  • @TheShannonMontana yeah because of their size and heart problems they'd get when they age. but i love them anyway.

  • He's sooo handsome!!!! I have an Irish Wolfhound mix and we love him so much!!! I really enjoyed your video! :~)

  • LOL i have an irish wulfhound and she does this too. lol. i love this breed

  • My friend had a irish wolfie, and she LOVED to sing. Whether it was because she washappy, sad, or if she wanted you to wake up. We lost her two years ago at the ripe old age of 16. We were blessed longer than many other people are and we miss her everyday.

  • @sailors08 your irish wolfhound lived for 16 years? that's a miracle considering they'd live to half that age. how was that possible?

irish wolfhounds are my dream dogs despite the short lifespan. if i would have mine live up to 10 years, it'll be a blessing.

  • @tallstech0711 We don't really know, the vets were confused too. I guess we were just blessed cause we didn't do anything special.

  • awww its a wolf *o*

  • My he's talkative.

  • hey Liam is my name too!!! Thats cool!

  • We had one when I was young. He would "talk back" when pet. He'd also sit at the dining room table on Sunday after dinner while the grownups had coffee. I mean, he actually sat in a seat and just watched.

Great dog, very friendly, very gentle. I have never since known a dog that would be so vocal, as though trying to say something to those around (without *barking*).

  • What a big cutie :D

  • :DD scruffy puppy!!!! <3 i love irish wolfhounds they're so snuggly

  • I saw two Irish Wolfhounds while I was in Ireland. We were at a castle, they come walking in. As a result, people thought they were wolves.... :/ I was like, "Guys, those are dogs. They're Irish Wolfhounds... -_-" Lol... Good times...

  • @DarkArtsPrincess15 which castle in ireland ?? I didn't see any wolfhounds when I was there !!

  • @topangacowgirl I think it was Bunratty...

  • @DarkArtsPrincess15 oh sorry you already answered your own question ha

  • @topangacowgirl theyre everywhere here? :P

  • @DarkArtsPrincess15 Bunratty castle in County Clare by any chance??I remember seeing a few Irish wolfhounds when I was there myself

  • wow.. what a beautiful dog ! *stunning* <3

  • This made me chuckle a bit

  • I wonder how big is poop is? 0_0

  • I love Irish Wolfhounds, I have a beautiful wheat coloured one called Hector- very handsome, (more fluffy and elegant than most)

He cries like Liam, for attention!

  • What do you say? Wanna go to the park Chewbacca?

  • amazing breed, i was at Inch Beach in County Kerry (Ireland) where I met a 15 year old Wolfhound - it had been cross bred further back and bred back into a wolfhound several times and it looks like a wolfhound only slightly smaller - but alot bigger than say a german shepard etc and in great health. The owner is a retired man who brings him to the beach twice a day............! THE BREED CAN BE SAVED!!!! :)

  • @brianb500 thank you so much for your kind response. I enjoyed watching your 'Gracie' and your Ireland pictures are outstanding ( I galloped on Inch Beach in 2008 , would have loved to have the very same wolfhound encounter !!)

  • I like the part where it went WOOOWOOOWOOOWOOOOWOOOOWOOOOHHHWOOOHHHH

  • what a massive dog!

  • @rubixstetris Mine, too. I'm more of a cat person because I grew up with cats, but where dogs are concerned, I love the gentle giants like wolfhounds and collies and golden retrievers.

  • You have a great dog! I absolutely love it! He's so handsome! ^^

  • I think he wants to go to the park.

  • Looks like he doesn't want to go to the park.

  • What a big, beautiful boy!

  • You should send this into that guy that makes the talking animal videos whose name i forget ~^_^~

  • A customer called Directv and told me to watch this, too cute!

  • rooroooroorooroorooroo

  • What an incredible animal. I'm sorry he died so young.

  • I was going to get a WOlfhound, but the thought of losing a companion after such a short time was something I couldn't come to terms with. So I bought a Whippet instead. Magnificent animals the Wolfhounds. As are all the sighthounds.

  • 2:06 Cool Moustache :DD

  • Thank you so much for the reminder. Your boy looks so much like Tobar of Gloccamorra....X

  • I love those dogs

  • Man, what a talker! Our wolfhound, Cael isn't anywhere near that talkative! That's where our great dane and chihuahua/boston terrier come in.

  • This reminds me our our Shamus, a silver Irush Wolfhound. He sang for us when he wanted to go to the park. Shamus passed away 5 years ago. We had an IWH named Liam Ryan. He didn't sing but rather piked things with his nose. Thanks for sharing

  • this is so funny and adorable my redbone coonhound is the exact way when i tell him he's going a run in the dog park

  • <3 so cute <3

  • I am sooo jealous of you! Your dog is GORGEOUS TO THE MAX!

  • oh god he's just too cute!

  • as lol i have a two year old irish woulfhound mixed with a black lab, he might be the goofiest dog ive ever seen,

  • @paintballpro211 Yeah, that does sound like a recipe for a goofy dog.

  • That is SO cute!

  • she is so cute!

  • I miss my dads irish wolfhound!!! :)

  • This is the best vid I have seen in so long!!! All that singing! Just get me to the park! And he's so happy running around! Awesome!

  • my irish wolfhound puppy was getting so excited when she heard this (:

  • beautiful dog and singing but why is it running around with his leash still attached to him?

  • Nice dog, I like to see people who love and treat his furry friends with love!!!.

    He looks so happy...:-)

  • My nine year oldmale IW-Faolan- listens and sings along with this video everyday-aren't they so special!! Thanks very much for posting it!

  • your dog is LOVELY !! congratulations, he looks like a very happy and very well cared dog :) greetings from mexico!

  • Beautiful IW. I am very sorry for your loss.

  • so so so sad for ya!! its the worst ever wen a pet dies!! its such a pity they cant breed those common illnesses out of the iw breed!!

  • thank you for the comment.......are you guys in the New England area ?

I have 2 rescue IW's but will be looking for a puppy in the spring !!

  • My best friend breeds IWs. They sing together a couple of times per day and every time she comes home. It echos through the woods. They are awesome dogs.

  • I love these dogs. I want eight of them... just as soon as I get myself 120 acres. So glad to see he's got room to run around! God Bless.

  • Hi there, I am mum of Spencer my now over 13 year old Irish wolfhound deerhound cross. Despite his size which is not quite full, he through some miracle made it to this ripe old age which amazes the vets! He was diagnosed with bloodcancer a year and a half ago. Went through chemo and complete change of food (homecooking fit for human consumption) and through some miracle is still going strong. Sadly we lost our other one 2 years ago through bone cancer and know how heart breaking it is. Hugs x

  • Well, this sure set off my IW - Jack - who loves to sing. He came running downstairs to do a duet. Very sad that you lost Liam. He looks like he was a very sweet guy.

  • You do know these calls are a product of his distress right?

  • No, not always. It can be but it also is a greeting and a group/community thing. If you have ever heard a whole showground full of wolfhounds singing you know that they are just enjoying themselves. I have had hounds that sang to piano jazz and the NPR theme song. They are not the least bit distressed.

  • @wideviewfarm ...Maybe it’s a difference in personality…my family breeds Shar Pei and when socially excited they bark, they never howl unless stressed IE loneliness, boredom, food, exercise, music/dance (they interpret it as fighting) etc. They are animals after all; any deviation from a native environment will have ill effects, no matter how small....whats the cost of keeping a dog this large? I have been interested in several breeds (pressa, kangal, dane) Im not sure of the food cost

  • Lovely. I had a Wolfhound mix, but he had the heart and soul of a Wolfhound, just an amazing, big-soul animal. Your dog had all of his days filled with love, fun, and singing. :) Thank you so much for sharing.

  • what a grand movie, i have 3 Hounds, sadley the oldest died last week, now three, your movie reminds me of dear old Ffynbahr, i will watch it so often, thank yoi, ChrisD. New Zealnd.

  • Giant motherfucker

  • What a special boy! Those memories are soo wonderful! My boys always sang to us when we walked in the door..& now Brolie has taught Abby the hound howl..it is funny to hear the difference in the howl between the two...

  • Now mine are singing too!

  • So cute!

  • Are Irish Wolfhounds expensive to feed? Because, you know, they're huge! How much do they eat? I finally picked up my courage to get an Irish Wolfhounds. I'm scared because they die to quickly.

  • i have had 4 irishwolfhounds in the past and i love them, have one now bandit he is awsome he sings toooo!

  • We love this one too, don't we Elizabeth? :D

  • What a beautiful video. So sorry Liam is no longer with you; very sad. Our wolfhound Mr Benson will be 9on 27th Feb 2011. We are very lucky to have known him for so long and dread the day when he passes.

  • when ever i need a laugh i always come back to see Liam

  • gotta twist their nuts to gets that sound out of em

  • What a total joy to watch! Liam was so adorable!!!! You must miss him terribly. We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and they have the same gentle giant character. I think once you own a giant you are hooked for life.

  • I absolutely loved this video! I've had this breed on my "wanted" list for a while now and cannot wait to have one. Liam is beautiful!

  • I love this video, we are looking for a IW, I can't wait to add another doggy to the family!

  • There should be more good spirited vids like this on youtube. Thanks for it!

  • Awww. Just take him to the park already!

  • OMG!! That's the cutest thing ever!!

  • Why do people continue to breed these dogs if they have such an awful tendency to get ill and die young?

  • @WanderingRover The larger dogs are, the shorter they live generally. It's the same for other species- I had a Sheltie that grew twice as big as it's supposed to and well, being that big wears the body down faster; it's the same for humans. People love them because they have huge personalities and are gentle and lovable, like giant teddy bears that love to work

  • i really enjoyed this video. It reminded me how much i loved my two wolfhounds. they made it to 5 years old, sisters, who strangely became ill with a brain swelling a the same time, and both lovely dogs died within days of each other. It seems although I have had several dogs in my life, those two, i miss so much. what a wonderful, but heart breaking breed.

  • @thetmacs

thank you for your kind words..........Liam's lesson to us all, is to live each day with joy, so that is what I wish for you today and always !

  • @thetmacs I'm very sorry to hear that your Irish wolfhounds lived very short. I seriously think that these wonderful breed should have a longer lifespan. I hope that people would try to breed longer-living wolfhounds in the future. I want one but their lifespan is too short...

  • Thanks for posting this vid of Liam. I'm sorry to hear he is gone, as he was beautiful.

  • What a wonderful dog! We are waiting to foster/adopt an IW!

  • im sorry to hear liam passed away is it common for these dogs to live a short life

  • haha! hes soooo cute:))

  • I love this video with Liam :) is adorable !!!

  • I love irish wolfhounds! <3

  • Very very sweet. I love Irish Wolfhounds and yours is a beauty with personality plus. It's lovely that you don't stifle him but let him express himself. One can tell from the tone of your voice that you have alot of affection for your dog. And the videography is great too!!!

  • LOL! xD So cute and funny.

  • lol thats so adorable!

  • My 15 week old IW-molly banshee was howling like her name sake spirit while listening to Liam. I'll try to get a decent video of her doing this next time. 2 funny. So yes, its safe to say she howls like a banshee. And am truly sorry to here about Liam passing. I lost my 6 year old -Toto- unexpectedly in July this year.

  • I want a singing wolf hound now.

  • my mum found this video, we have had two IW, and unfortunately our lovely Finbar also died of bone cancer three months ago and we miss him greatly. the house is so empty without a big dog!!!!

  • He is so cute he looks so much like the one i had ,the sad thing with the irish wolfhounds is that they dont get as old as other dogs do.

  • I am so very, very sorry to hear of Liam's passing. We have lost 2 at 6 & one at 8. We currently have 2 rescue hounds, one, Izzy we have had for just 6 months. She is still suffering from her poor start in life but at aged almost 2, she's getting there & I love playing her this recording. The first singing wolfie we have had & she really loves it.

Thank you for sharing. I know that you must miss him terribly.

  • I'm so sorry you lost Liam - he will always be in your heart and this vid will always bring back some great times. He was quite the crooner! :) Can't wait to see McMurphy and Ferdia in video! I love pretty much all hounds...grew up w/Bassets myself.

  • What a beautiful dog. Such a pity he died.

  • I just love this video. I am so sorry to hear that Liam is no longer with you. The awful thing with Wolfies, their life span! I have played this over & over & one of our hounds, Dylan, Ignores it, Izzy however sings along. Both rescue hounds, so good luck with your's. Izzy didn't have a good start in life, but, in the 6 months that we have had her, she's getting better every day. Still not sure of strangers, bu tshe is getting there. Lost 2 wolfies with cancer as well.

  • Me and my daughers love watching your video. It was part of the reason we decided to get one. Now 4 months old, I understand why everyone says there is no greater dog love, than owning an Irish Wolfhound. Thanks

  • i like irish wolfhounds because they have a cute howl that you can just love

  • that wolfhound is so CUTE!!! i especially love his singing when he hears the word "park" great vid

  • I want one so bad. My old collie Clancy used to do this my dad would get her and her sister to do this. i miss her so much but there is a new collie baby at home.

  • lol too funny

  • nice vid. untill you own a wolf hound only then will you know what a joy they are .

  • @elswine1978

thank you for your comment ....unfortunately Liam ( only 4 yrs old)passed away a few weeks ago from bone cancer........fortunately I also have an adopted 5 yr old IW named McMurphy and will be receiving Liam's littermate Ferdia, who needed rehoming due to his owner's illness. Liam's joy remains in every cell in my body, but there is also a very big hole in my heart ,as he will always be my angel dog

  • @topangacowgirl

What a beautiful dog. Such a pity he died.

  • @topangacowgirl im so sorry to hear that, you probably already know that bone cancer is very common among irish wolfhounds...

  • @topangacowgirl sorry to hear bout that

  • @topangacowgirl yeah they do die young. its so sad i would almost feel bad getting one.

  • @topangacowgirl I lost my big baby Cormac on Sept 14, 2010. I was blessed to have him. He died one month short of his 9th birthday, but even that wasn't long enough to have in my life. I am so sorry for your great loss and I know the what you are feeling.. There is so much pain in our heart when we lose these special creatures.

  • @topangacowgirl Sad to hear that. Liam's life is even shorter than thetmac's Irish Wolfhounds!

  • 0:47 sounds like he say "I wuv you"

  • hahaha this is hilarious haha must have you drove nuts haha

  • I would LOVE to own an Irish Wolfhound, however, I rent and I don't have a house yet and most places dont allow big dogs. :(

  • Liam singing and Irish ballad

  • LOL!

  • I have a white irish wolf hound and hes lovely. They were bred to hunt wolves but theyre really gentle and sweet actually

  • im sorry to hear that! i wish him the best of health under the circumstances. ive just uploaded a vid of my 1,5yr wolfhound going nuts to this vid!

  • brilliant video!!!!!!!!!

  • lol! my wolfhound goes tottaly nuts when he listens to this

  • @Lidnart thanks for the comment , my sweet boy is battling bone cancer , but doesn't miss a run and swim at the park even with 3 legs now. I hope to have him live out the summer pain free with joy in every day

  • @topangacowgirl omg thats so sad how is now boy dog umm just wondering is this a good dog to have? and how much is a new puppy

  • I just wanted to...

    HOWL ALONG WITH HIM.

    OMFG. <3333

So cuuuute~!!! I love big doggies! Liam is adorable!

  • I had one but this Monday i have to put her to sleep after 12 years she was pretty sick.. tumor.

Part of me gone with her forever it hurts so much every corner of my house reminds me at her.. she was truly beautiful and loyal dog :((

I think i am going to cry again..

  • my thoughts are with you, as my sweet boy was diagnosed with bone cancer last week. He will be 4 years old on Apr 1st .

He is also the love of my life and I will do anything to keep him pain free. Liam and I send out a hug to you ......these wolfhounds are nothing but pure love and joy. thanks for enjoying the video, it is here he will live on forever

    love, holly

  • Liam the Aries.. :)

You know my also love singing and driving. She was little bit smaller but exactly same look as your Liam her name was Lucky. She was suffering quite short time, we didn't know until she wasn't able to walk. At first we think that something gone wrong with her ankle.. but she was the one who warn us that time is come.

You are so right... these dogs are nothing but pure love and joy.

Thanks for hugs.. i send one to you and Liam too.

  • Holly, Liam has sarcoma and he's not even four years old? I'm so sad for you both. My Tara had the same and died at almost age 11, but Liam is young, lively and talented. There's something you can get on-line that helps CA cells to die-Fucoidan. I'm drinking it in an extract, among other extracts called Exfuse and have ordered fucoidan caps, too on line. Maybe it would help. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

  • beautiful dog

  • good god!! Amd here I thought Toto was the biggest whiner. The boy beast will bawl at the drop of a pin. Liam takes it ome step further. Two bad toto and liam arn't opposites of each other.

  • Aww silly boy

    ;3

  • That is the funniest thing i've seen!!! My irish wolfhound is just like it (with the singing i mean)

  • maith tu Liam !...grace the sassenach with a wee song !

  • too bad Fairfield County, Connecticut is more NY than NE...the girls would sign up for singing lessons...Merry Christmas!

  • my boyfriend is from Fairfield CT.......we are looking to breed Liam this coming year, do you know of any females that would be interested ??!!

    holly

  • This video is awesome! Our first W

Wolfie was a howler, but our current one is more of a whiner. Yours is a mix of both. Your best friend is very cool. How did you teach him to do stairs?!

  • nice boy! :)

we had a girl, a huge one. her name is(was) Moira... she left us in this august. she was 10 years old.

she had cancer and she had it on so majestically as she lived.

unfortunately we haven t got any videos of her. only lots of photos. my husband calls her "little mouse" :)

we loved her a lot, she was a real mate, i don t think they are only a dogs :)

    we will never forget her.

the same movements like yours. in the snow :)

yours is also nice!, and lovely singer :)

  • No, I live in Texas. You might like to join a group on Yahoo groups to talk to other IW people. Go to Yahoo groups and search Irish Wolfhounds.

    holly
