People thinking the cops ID's themselves need to read the Judges verdict again. Nowhere in that verdict does he say ANYTHING about any officer ID'ing himself. Cooperman was the finder of fact, and what he did to come to his verdict was decriminalize the officers obvious acts of recklessness by labeling them as carelessness and incompetance. To win the case, all the prosecutor had to prove was recklessness on the part of Oliver or Isnora.

Police officers are sworn in to serve and protect. How can we know the facts? Not every cop identify themselves during their shooting. Nobody knows the full story because 1 man is dead and the others in the car were hit with bullet and even their experience they told was thrown out in the garbage.

There are several things that aren't considered facts.

Steve Foley (NFL linebacker) was followed over 20 miles by an off-duty police officer in plain clothes (in his personal vehicle) and shot several times by cop Aaron Mansker. Mansker shot Foley less than 300 yards from Foley's front door -- Mansker was acquitted. Another off-duty southern california cop has recently shot a 28yr old mom & her 8 yr oldon, why???

Well, 50 times is a pretty high bar. When's the last time anybody got shot 50 times? Ben Sonnenberg was shot 11 times in Green Bay, WI (they fired 34 rounds, only hit him 11 times, and accidentally hit an innocent bystander) after brandishing his cell phone at police. They called it "suicide by cop" and didn't prosecute.

callawaygolf your absolutely right i have been beaten by 3 cops while leaving to from school to work and forgot my ID in the class room 2 years ago and all of a sudden they argued with me claiming that i was cutting school i showed they the school schedule 1 of of them thought that i was talking back to them and arrested me and i was in a police van for 2 hours and was mazed on the eyes nose and mouth.
All i can do was to file a complaint and nothing happened.

People thinking the cops ID's themselves need to read the Judges verdict again. Nowhere in that verdict does he say ANYTHING about any officer ID'ing himself. Cooperman was the finder of fact, and what he did to come to his verdict was decriminalize the officers obvious acts of recklessness by labeling them as carelessness and incompetance. To win the case, all the prosecutor had to prove was recklessness on the part of Oliver or Isnora.

The first guy who fired did so after he was hit by Sean Bell's car. None of the shots had anything to do with prostitution. It all had to do with Guzman saying he was going to get a gun. The cops didn't need to take the chance that Guzman was going to start shooting people in the club, so he yelled for the guys to show him their hands. Instead, they ran him over. And attempted to do so again.

it was stated in court that one of the witnesses original said that the cops DID identify themselves. the witness later was caught lying by saying that they DIDN'T identify themselves. if you truly believe that these cops just started firing for no good reason than i would suggest having a little more faith in the people who put their lives at risk every time they punch the clock. the major point in this is that this is a he said/he said case. cops vs criminals and cops won.get over it

Steve Foley (NFL linebacker) was followed over 20 miles by an off-duty police officer in plain clothes (in his personal vehicle) and shot several times by cop Aaron Mansker. 95% of cops are good people. They are going a thankless job putting their lives on the line. It's the 5% that are trigger happy that make it hard on all the other cops.

Well, 50 times is a pretty high bar. When's the last time anybody got shot 50 times? Ben Sonnenberg was shot 11 times in Green Bay, WI (they fired 34 rounds, only hit him 11 times, and accidentally hit an innocent bystander) after brandishing his cell phone at police. They called it "suicide by cop" and didn't prosecute.

Unfortunately it is quite easy to shoot over 50 times quickly. With the number of cops on scene it happened only in a few seconds.

In Japan I am sure that if a person drove into a contingent of cops that they would have shot the driver to death. It is the driver that ended his life. Cops anywhere in the world would have done the same. New York is just a racist city. If a person is shot or arrest it has to be because of their race and not the fact that they committed a crime.

callawaygolf your absolutely right i have been beaten by 3 cops while leaving to from school to work and forgot my ID in the class room 2 years ago and all of a sudden they argued with me claiming that i was cutting school i showed they the school schedule 1 of of them thought that i was talking back to them and arrested me and i was in a police van for 2 hours and was mazed on the eyes nose and mouth.
All i can do was to file a complaint and nothing happened.
God we are not safe anymore.

Boy were they. Armed to the teeth and wearing full body armor. Walked around the neighborhood after their bank robbery plan went south firing fully-automatic rifles with armor piercing shells. Both men wound up dead. Goggle "North Hollywood shootout." There's some pretty dramatic video, too.

A hundred years ago, and for many thousands of years before that, most "courts" would torture the living shit out of a person and ask them to "confess". Of-course when your bones are being broken and hot fiery objects are slicing your skin, you are going to confess to anything.
But these days we do not use torture to get confessions so we don't need that amendment. (Unless your in Guantanamo then your fucked)

There is something very scary about an officer who fires 31 times and tries to distort the fact that he did. Those bullets could of killed other people at random.

Guys, great defend the cops. But 2 shots maybe BUT 50, and there were no other dangers. Even if he was a criminal, they still shouldn't shoot him 50 times. So you're saying if someone steals something, they should get shot 50 times. I mean they had to reload so they must've known there were no shots fired back. And what about the public danger? Bullets were accidentally fired into someone's home. Do we not hold them responsible for public endangerment?

Well, Sean Bell could have avoided all of this by if he and his friends would have obeyed the officers and simply "froze". If there was any public endangerment, they caused it by disobeying the law, police orders, and driving off extremely intoxicated.

The cops were in plain clothes investigating they were not in uniform so if some pulls a gun on u and tells u 2 stop wtf are u gonna do ur gonna try and get away right....and the police are not the LAW they ENFORCE the law....they cant just say and do whatever they want and you have to listen...they also have to be within the law...and just cause someone is running from an officer doesnt justify putting 50 bullets in his ass

The thugs knew they were police officers AFTER the detectives told them they were NYPD and to freeze. You can avoid the common sense of this all you want. They got exactly what they deserved. These were three multi-criminals who continuously thought they were above the law. Any jury or judge will agree. I actually hope it does go to trial again and is put in front of a jury. The defense wil destroy it in a matter of days.

Good idea, fire a "warning shot" in a highly populated area... Nothing, and I mean nothing could go wrong there..... How are the police supposed to shoot a person in the leg when he is in a vehicle? You are not making sense. Try to go to a firing range and put your money where your mouth is. See how many shots it takes you to hit a moving target even once. I will say again, Mr. Bell was armed with a car. Stand in a busy freeway and see how dangerous a car can be.

Pretend one of those police officers were your son, or brother and then read ALL the facts of the case. These officers weren't crack-cocaine dealers and were not convicted previously of illegal firearms' convictions. They are there to protect people like you. Never: "after he refused to freeze at the orders of the police, getting into a car drunk, and slamming into a police vehicle, and speeding off as if he had something to hide AFTER his thug friend in the club said "yo get my gun." This guy and his friends had previous convictions of gun possessions and crack-cocaine charges. They brought it on themselves. Grow up.
