Whenever I top off my cats bowl whether it be water or food, she begs. She could have eaten or had water 2 minutes earlier and she'd still beg when I go to top them off anyway. Cats know that when you have their bowl, then good things are about to happen. They get excited. Simple as that. It has nothing to do with starving or dehydrating them.
