the difference between a manual mustang and an automatic is not really that much on the street most people don't drive there cars to the limit and in traffic manuals really kinda suck you really don't need to have "total" control of the car driving 25mph in a 75... and if you ask and pro builder or racer they will agree that though manuals are more fun you can NOT beat a stalled auto on the drag strip.
Fighting about the transmission of a car is for morons.. A mustang is a mustang. FYI most people that buy manuals can't shift for shit and get beat by the autos on a regular basis. Love the Macs, can't wait to get mine.
Why would u buy an automatic? Real mustangs are manual where you can totally control the car. FYI, I have an 06 Roush Mustang. Just bought the MAC mufflers since mine is a real Roush and has the Roush street legal mufflers which are not loud enough at idle for me. They do sound awesome and smooth and no hiccups when I crack into it.
i laugh at people in manuals when they miss a shift , people who laugh at people with automatics are immature. keep those macs dude they sound the best on the new s197 mustangs and the older mustangs as well. who cares about drone , mac sound = good. if your gone be doing any heavy duty drag racing people will see that a automatic is the way to go.
alexmcbride2003 i laugh when i smoke people like you with my automatic gt.... i looked at some of ur videos and u have sum piece of shit riced out car.. u wouldnt have a chance at beating any mustang. besides him, you car sounds great bro! i was thinking about buying some macs for my car, my car is pretty much exactly like urs same color aand everything ahah
that sounds like the inside of my 4.6 V8 T-Bird... I've changed my exhaust so many times... new piping... new mufflers... I dont know what to do anymore... And now the drone is worse than ever lol
well. it al depends on the person. i personally hate it. and for keeper. its when the noise of the exhaust hits a certain pitch where it just hurts ur ears and gives u a headache
you laugh AT THEM BUT JUST IMAGINE IF A DEER WERE TO JUMP OUT IN FRONT OF YOUR STANDARD YOU PROBALY HAVE A PISS POOR REACTION TIME AND WOULD BLOW THE ENGINE
So have you seen the new 2010 Mustang yet? If so, what do you think about it? I don't like it much, especially from the back. The '05 - '09 cars are much better looking, in my opinion.
Yes. It's quite loud inside the car, but if you can get past that like I did. It's fine. It make the car sound large and in charge, like it should sound.
Nothing in particular. How does your car do against a manual transmission Stang? Do you get any good street races in your town? Or do you ever go to the local dragstrip?
No. Not much. Idk if it's FL with all the cops or if when people hear the car they just don't want to go for it, but I almost never race. Not saying I wouldn't want to, it just doesn't happen. But as far as dragstrip goes, the only one around here is a good hour away and only open like four times a months. So I never go.
I'm not sure if you're into old Mustangs or old muscle cars in general, but if you are, search the username trickey57. He has some good videos of his car collection, including a 65 Mustang fastback that he completely rebuilt. The guy is definitely talented and I enjoy his videos. Check it out when you get a chance.
Damn, I keep going between the Mac axle back that you have and the Mac Boomtubes. I like both pretty much equally. It's kinda hard to compare when everyone is using different cameras to record and in different conditions, etc... I've heard great sound from both systems on several different videos.
I'll tell you this, but it probably wont help much. The only thing you can get from a video is the tone. You can't get the volume. All these different setups are nice, but you can't really point out the volume unless it's right in front of you.
The only thing I don't like about the Boomtubes is the rev ups sounds a bit too much like a (pardon my childish comment) farting sound. The deep stedy rumble is great, but that rev up.... I couldn't deal with that myself. lol
Are you talking about the popping sound when he revs it up? The stock exhaust does that too. Hell, both of my old 5.0L Mustangs had the same backfire like popping sound. I actually like it... Your Macs don't do that?
No no. Not the popping sound. All of them do that unless you install resisters. But screw that. You loose power. lol No, just the tone of the rev to me sounds like that. I don't know, maybe it's just me. Almost like the sound is going through a funnel before it hits the pipes resolting in that sound I'm talking about. Not the popping. They all do that.
Resisters? Do you mean resonators? I could be wrong, but I think the Boomtubes have a sort of resonator built into the tips. If you look closely into the end, you can see what looks like small baffles. Its definitely not a straight pipe like some people think. I do like the popping sound though....I think it's awesome.
Yes, that's true. I like the deep bass sound of your set up. But I also like some of the Boomtube videos too. I wish I could hear them all in person before I plunk down my hard earned cash, but listening to these vids is the next best thing.
Ah, lame! Well, I'll be more than happy to try my best to make any kind of video you need. But, like I said, you can only get the tone, you can't get the volume from videos.
When you pulled out of your driveway and got on it pretty hard, I noticed that there was just a split second of the drone (probably as you hit about 2,000 rpm) and then no drone whatsoever. Since my car is a manual trans, I'm wondering if I'll hear the drone when I'm shifting through the gears if I keep crossing 2,000 rpm. If I'm drivng easy and I shift above 2,000 rpm, but the engine falls under 2,000 rpm when I shift into the next gear, will I hear the drone for a second between every shift?
That second turn I held it at a sitting at about 2,000 RPM's pretty consistantly. I was trying to make it as easy to hear as possible. I don't notice a second drone after if up shifts and drops RPM's below 1,800. Under about 1,800 and above 2,300 RPM's it doesn't have a drone at all. I'm in a lot of stop and go traffic as I drive to work so I hear it quite a bit, but I normaly just ride with the windows down and have the sound of the exhaust on the outside too. I dig it! lol
No problem, man! I'm glad you liked it. If you have anymore requests just let me know. lol Glad I could help. This is after all the same way I shoped for my pipes. lol
Thanks, bro! Great video... The first time I played it, I had my speakers cranked up high and it distored the hell out of them when you made the right hand turn. I watched the video again with the speakers down lower and it didn't sound so bad. I honestly thought it would be worse the way some guys complain about it. Thanks again for shooting that video.
Fuck I got a headache already from the drone lol
