  • @benny3134 hey just asking but do you know a specific way i can make sure my board is shaped evenly on each side thanks in advance.

  • Niiiiiiiice. Well done.

  • owowowwow nice

  • How long is the deck?

  • could i use this same process but with rocker instead of camber?

  • Wow, nice job man.

  • what wood is that ??

  • Otimo !!!! parabens !!!! PRO !!!

  • nicee man! good jobb

  • Could you tell me the type of stain and clear coat you used. I would love to try that look on some stuff I build!!

  • Nice job!! Where did you get the wood and how many plies did you use?? Btw they make clear grip tape you know.

  • hey what did u use for the grip tape

  • bro.. white ass feet lol. sweet board tho

  • I make my decks out of 1/8 inch ply Baltic birch and one ply of oak. this deck has to flex like crazy I can't imagine a Baltic birch deck being anywhere close to stiff. you should also use the blue titebond glue. it's more expensive but mucho better for your hold over time. I like your finishing technique but you need an hvlp gun for your clear coat. have you thought about adding hydraulics to your press? might be a little more efficient.

  • is it a good board please reply

  • do you sell them?

  • looks like bustins maestro

  • I really really really like your woodpress how exactly did you make it. Im dieing to know.!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what's the weight of that board??

  • Dude like the video but too slow at some points and you should have used tape to paint it

  • oh ok

  • salt wtf!!!!!!

  • @piggyworld96 no its just a salt shaker. in the shaker is this paint additive called tread tex that you mix with paint for traction on surfaces, so i used it for clear grip.

  • @benny3134 hey im making a long board and i was wondering if you could tell me the paint additive for the tread tex so it would be clear grip

  • thats sick you should make me one haha

  • love the way he's in front of the camera so we dont see anything :P

    good vid (:

  • can i use 7 ply plywood?

  • Dude thats the best home made board id ever seen good job... K now make me one lol

  • gimme it

  • kinda looks like you gave it too much camber.... other than that it looks amazing

  • did you use salt as griptape?

  • hey man good job did u use salt and glue as griptape?

  • if you flip it upside down you'd have a bustin maestro

  • What paint do you use, and how do you get the curve so perfect? I want to start buidling longboards but there isnt really alot of good wood in new zealand, any tips please?

  • thumbs up if u see the lady in the background when he is cutting

  • sick board, not my style of paint job but its done exactly how he wanted it so good on you

  • looks like my dervish nice job man.

  • holy apex

  • @molethrower12 whats funny is how much it isnt like an apex, starting wit dimensions. The construction is also completely different, as well as the mounting style.

  • @benny3134

no i mean the upward curve in the middle of the board

  • @molethrower12 more like a dervish if you're going to compare

  • @molethrower12 trust me. no one would re-create that board

  • @molethrower12 its not much of an apex more like an axis

  • how did you get the concave on the board, that turned out awesome, much respect man

  • Comment removed

  • what did u use 2 cut the wood?

  • does any one notice the crepy old guy in the backround reading a book? 2:05

  • how thick are the 2 ply sheets you glue together?

  • about how long do u think it took for the bend to stay?

  • i know this is a lot to ask but can you tell me how you did this step by step. like what wood, and how many ply

  • how do you get that nice final finish covering on the bottom of the deck, the glossy clear coat, is it a special paint or glue?

  • @hollandben35 its the polyurethane

  • is it okay with 4 sheet of 1/8 inches of oak??

  • Hi! Nice board! I've been thinking about making my own homemade longboard and I thought a little about the drop through deck, how well did your last? I mean, the deck must be a little weaker when you cut out those holes for the trucks or am I wrong?

Any answer would be great! Thanx!

  • Really considering building this press, simple but effective! Concave and Camber both work out nicely?? BB or Maple? Thinking about maple for my next deck. Was the top " beam " that you used to press leftover from the base? Was it 2X6 or 2X8? Great video man! Any info would be helpful thank you

  • thats pretty sick !!

  • cool cool.

  • lol, dad is barbecuing at 6:21 :D

  • sick , comment tu fais pour avoir une drop?

  • Hey man. GREAT BOARD. I really admire the craftsmanship.

  • this vid has helped me loads thanx

  • what type of wood did u use ?

  • what type of wood did u use ?

  • hi, ive started to make the mould for the board and its going well, just trying to be patient as i do lol. could you please tell me what kind of glue you used and how well it works and maybe any suggestions that may help me in the gluing stage. thanks, nj

  • @nathanieljorden i used titebond 3, pretty much the standard for home builders...only glueing tip i have is use really even coats..and dont completely soak the wood. a thin even coating in best.

  • @benny3134 thank you so much for the reply, i'll make sure i follow your tips, im from the uk so i dont know the brand titebond but i'll ask arounds in stores, when im done i'll show you my mould and board too. keep up the great work, nj

  • @WASPIE01 yeah send me an email benmasters@verizon.net

its easier than ther comments section for a video.

  • i like it, but to many ppl who make their own boards make apex or pintail designs

  • @miked1997 hahahaha...

    1. there are only so many funstional skateboard shapes out there man

    2. this was built for a customer who ordered this shape and size.

    3. why dont you try to make something super innovative, then post it up ok?

  • did u use pepper for grip??? and i think this one is better than the second

  • sick

  • what kind of wood did you use

  • how did u get that camber mold i use a different method but it doesnt work as good as yous

  • excelente!!!

  • what song is it at the end

  • how did u get concave and camber? the press must have been hard to build

  • if this had step by step saying how to do it that would be awsome :)

  • @Amonkeysnut orrrr you could do what i did and do your own research and find out what to do...

  • whats the sprinkly stuff at like 8 mins???

  • How do you center your truck holes. I want to build a longboard in my high school shop class, and i have everything set its just i want to learn how to get the holes right.

  • how many boards have you made... n wats the cost to make one. i wnna try to make one myself but aint sure wat the steps to doing it are.

  • @speedy2442 lots...cost depends on board and materials this one would be around 45 at most...do some research dude thats how i got started...silverfish longboarding forums anf toothless longboarding

  • how many have you made. and why dont you show it finnished?

  • @nathanieljorden ive made a lot. and theres a pictures of it ifnished at the end...

  • Did you wet the wood before applying the dye?

  • @yoyoguy161 no dye is just waterbased RIT dye.

  • Were you using RIT dye? If so, whats your solvent and concentration? Im having trouble with my staining at the moment and could use the help

  • @yoyoguy161 RIT dye, 1 package of powder mixed with 2 cups warm water.

  • @benny3134

Do you find that using the paint brush produces better results than using balled up cotton? Do you prepare the wood for staining with anything?

  • @yoyoguy161 yes much better, no idea why.. i sand w/ 220 before stain. 2 coats generally

  • what kind of wood would you recommend using?

  • @cstevs0404 baltic birch plywood the kind that comes in 5'x5' sheets

  • how did you get the bend in the width? was that part of the original mold? also how many sheets did you use and what were the measurements?

    Thanks

  • how did you get the curve width ways? was that done in the original mold. and what the green bit at 5:06. THANKS

  • how did you get the curve width ways? was that done in the original mold. and what the green bit at 5:06. THANKS

  • @jaydeefox2 if ur talking about the concave im pretty sure he got it with the mold more towards the outer edges u can see two strips of wood running along the sides of the top surface and in his mold the pressure is centered so naturally the wood would bend into a concave i could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me

  • were do get sprinkle clear grip?

  • how did you make your frame so that you got a camber and a concave?

  • hey dude i like the video looks like ur pretty good at makin them so i was wondering if u could help me out ive been trying to build a few of my own longboards recently and had some errors and was hoping maybe u could help me out a little bit as far as woods u use and the kindof glue used. if u have a facebook or anything i think it would be alot easier thanks hope i hear from u

  • When you set the board in the press at the beginning, did it naturally curve across the narrow part where the spine of the press was or did you design it to curve the board both ways?

  • ok i have a question... i'm making my own longboard and i'm gonna use 1/4" birch plywood and want to knowhow thick i should make the board please answer some one

  • a few questions tho. how wide is the plywood you bent over the 2x6s? how wide and tall are the strips that you nailed down along the sides? and how thick is the "beam" that you used on the top side?

  • alright. i looked at your press and this is what i got. lemme know if im right or what

    1. u have three 2x6s all cut the same with the upside down U to give the board its camber. two on the sides and one in the middle

    2. you took some wood and bent it over the top and nailed it down. then you took some strips and laid them along the sides and nailed them down.

    3. you saved the cuts from the 3 2x6s and nailded them together to make the top "beam"

    4. you put the board in and clamped it down

  • What is your press made out of? Are those just 2X4's on the sides and what is between them? Are the 2X4's higher than the middle of your press to get the concave? I'm trying to figure out the best way to build a press. Yours looks good.

  • howd u get the concave?

  • @safetyponcho yes, how do you do taht?
