  • Without a doubt, one of the best pieces ever written!

  • just beautiful

  • Великий мастер гармонии. Здесь есть всё: и яркие образы, и неизгладимые впечатления от увиденной панорамы... Звучание льётся как горный поток. Красота великая сила. Наш оркестр прекрасно передал дух произведения. Молодцы!

  • Cor Anglais is gorgeous. The Cor Anglais part sounds like it was composed with the Armenian Duduk and its repertoire firmly in mind.

  • Russians are good people, but Lennin, Stalin, Rasputin, etc

  • @Churruminonian - And what do they have do with this music? Yeah, nothing. I guess you would probably hate on on Mozart because of his whole Austro-German heritage, too. Sad. For you.

  • @Churruminonian

    Stalin was Georgian.

  • @Churruminonian I thought all Americans were reasonable people. It seems stupid that McCarthyism is not dead.A ignorância não parece ser prorogativa de povos tupiniquins. Por isso o mundo jaz no mal, pois enquanto houver pessoas pensando dessa forma, nenhuma verdade pode se estabelecer.

  • @sergiobantam I am sad to inform you that many Americans are anything but reasonable. I wish it were otherwise.

  • @piobairesicago Thanks for the consistent response.

Let's hope that one day everything will change.

    Heavenly Hugs!

  • @Churruminonian Dear fellow Americans:

Good was the Bush, Patton, Nixon ... rsrsrsr!

    Go study history boy!

  • Beautiful. From the start to the middle to the end. Gorgeous. It sends chills up my spine it's that beautiful.

  • @IgnisAeterni or a "Angel Choir"

  • "Neishapour" you mustn't remind Iranian culture when you are speaking about or looking Caucasus especially Georgian mountains and Georgians(Iberian) People

  • Uma passagem para a transcendência

  • This is not going to be my "funeral end-song;' instead, it is going to be a song that reminds me of good people of the Caucasus who, for the most part belong to the ancient Iranian culture and, work hard and live a life close to the nature through their ancient traditions. For a good performance of this you may want to look for Stokowski but Fedoseyev is fine. This is not a bad performance either. The tempo seems to be just right. I say this because I am originally from that part of the world...

  • @Neishapour So Ippolitov-Ivanov's music is authentically Caucasian in sound, is it? That is so cool, because even though he was an ethnic Russian, he had a life-long interest in Georgian folk-music.

  • This is defenitively going to be my funeral end-song!

With this i return back into eternity!

With this my life on earth will end and be thanked, wiped out into the all, into forever...

    THANKS, many many thanks!

(i only choose the version of this ippolitov ivanovs masterpiece by the russian radiosymphonic orchestra conduted by fedosejev, wich is much more gentle in strings, tempo and softness) :) :(

just like in my favorite akira kurosawa's film "dreams"

  • @IgnisAeterni NAH! That's an Electric Guitar! I Know that unmistakable sound anywhere...Helen Keller even knows!!!!

  • A real masterpiece, you should be in the reagion to feel the melody properly.

  • In the middle is a citation of a folk song "Mshvenieri var" from Tbilisi, Georgia. He lived there 1882-1893 and 1924-25.

  • Maybe the most beautiful music ever created.

    Thanks

  • just beautiful. words fail me.

  • The clarinet at 1:40 just kills me.

  • pretty sure that's an oboe

  • Thanks. My bad.

  • Beautiful exotic music, beautiful images. For years I've actually danced an improvised dance to the passage with the tambourine (in the privacy of my own home, of course.) Can't help it; just makes me want to dance. Thanks for sharing with others who may never have heard the gorgeous "Caucasian Sketches."

  • @konchakovna

Came back to listen again and saw your comment - you're a tease ; P

  • a masterpiece..

suits beautiful at Kurosawa's last dream from the film Dreams

  • One of my all time favorites...the whole Caucasian sketches are fantastic this one conjures up all kinds of lovely erotic visions (specially when the tamborine kicks in about 2:57 always makes me think of the dance scene of various regions of empire in 'Cleopatra' MGM 1963....what a great soulful lively and earthy folk sound, truly an aural masterpiece like all of sketches. Thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you so much for uploading! It's one of my favorites, and the version I have on CD was recorded at too low a volume. This is great!

  • wonderful composition!

  • Yes, it is!
