  • Blend in Circles! Brilliant! Thankyou Ma'm! ^-^

  • Wow, that's very nice. Thank you so much. This is extremely helpful.

  • I color outside the lines because im different :)

  • RoseArt rocks! :)

  • For the blending part could you use a colorless blender pencil?

  • Good tutorial! I'd say Prismacolor Colored Pencils are the best-ever Proffesional ones.

  • maybe i should sharpen my pencils better to achiive this

  • i thought you were to blend in a cirrcular motion?

  • cool!!!

  • ok a 3 year old even knows how to do that... Just waisted 1:57 seconds of my life.

  • Nice blending.

  • lol just use white 1 2 3

  • shes breathing pretty hard......

  • simply beautiful!

I like it, are the pencils expensive? or as cheap as normal pencils??

  • @ImLaraCroft I just bought a 130 pack of Premier pencils for $150 AUD over eBay. So I guess they're pretty expensive haha.

  • @IronShire Whoo, yeah, that's pretty expensive! but.. we live here in The Netherlands so it's a bid cheaper for us...

  • thts freaki8ng awesumm!

  • I'm a beginner and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. Like what time of pencils and stuff like that thx a bunch!!

  • Those pencils are simply amazing!!! A bit expensive too.. Out of the 120, I have 80 colors or so. The problem is that the same day I bought them, I also bought a box of clay.. For me, sculpting is so much more the drawing!!!! I do hope to revisit these incredible pencils!! Check what I,ve done so far =D

  • Prismacolor is the best. That's all I have to say.

  • Ha when I was little I had no clue prismacolor was such a expensive brand until my dad told me he was a artist so now he passed his prismacolor pencils to me and his lead pencils from Japan to me. I was so happy! :D

  • I found out about these Prismacolors and I showed my mom and she said "Natalie, how much are these Prismacolors?" and I showed get the price but it was the 48 pack of Prismacolor Illustration Markers and they were $119.99 and she said "Hell no! You ain't getting this shit!" and I said "Can't I just get them for my birthday in 2 months and she said "Ok."

  • @milestails1509 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • I'm looking for some decent colouring pencils and I am concireding buying prismacolour pencils (though I have no experience of using them). So I can you please tell me; a) If Prismacolours are waxy? and b) If you can smudge them?

  • Thanks!

    5/5

  • I just bought the pencils and needed some advice how to use them.

    Thanks for your excellent tutorial.

  • which set do you have?

  • gotta get me some of these! good tut

  • Looks great

  • Well done....a nice, simple and effective tutorial!

    -Merrill

  • No use of tortillians?

  • Using those is only one style of coloring; You can also use a blender pencil, or you can just keep layering, you can use solutions to blend (for example, rubbing alcohol. Dip a cotton swap into the alcohol and lightly rub it on you colored spot to blend (I advise you to practice it on a separate sheet of paper because using alcohol isn't for evry1))

  • Prismacolors give great tones, but you'll find yourself only being able to use about a third of the actual pencil. They break so much because of the added wax it's impossible to sharpen them... be extremely careful

  • prismacolors are the (in my opinion) the best tool to get really perfesional pictures. just remeber not to press at all at first because the wax will make it so you can't add any more color :P

  • awesome i just got a 96 pack so im gonna try this out! Thanks!

  • or you could just cross hatch the two colors

  • I just ordered the 48 count pack of prismacolor colored pencils and I'm so excited to get them!

  • WOO!! that was awesome. you are awesome at doing that!!

  • i like ur shadowing

  • that really helps

    thank you for doing this

    btw

which do u think is better prismacolor or steadtler color pencils?

  • Which ones are better the Verithin or the Premier

  • The Premier pencils are wax-based with color mixed in and the leads are very soft. That's why they blend so well. The Verithin are the same leads, but very little wax. I use the Verithins for going over outside lines, eyes, fur lines, etc. If I used the Premier pencils for that, it would not be a crisp line like the Verithin pencil would make. The Verithins do not come in all colors, either. LMK if you have any other questions.

  • @1of2shoes Prismacolors are soft, Verithins (made by Prismacolor) are hard. I use Verithins for initial outlining and light layering, Prismacolors for everything else. Verithins are limited because of the smaller number of colors produced, however, they have enough of a range to be effective on a preliminary basis for lining, and for shading, they are best for small areas. Both are the best quality, and their expense may be diminished by buying by boxes of 1 dozen in quantity.

  • how much r those things?

  • they are pretty expensive...one pencil is probably around $1.50, so if you buy a set it will probably be around $1.50xHow many is in the set.

as a gift, I got the 120 pack which was around $155. They work so well and I really reccomend them!

  • Right now Michael's Arts and Craft Stores are having a 50% off on Prismacolor colored pencils 48 pc set or more. A usual $98 is cut down to about $48. I recommend you cut coupons out for them or just go to Michaels. They're having great sales

  • easier alternative is just to get a color blender and bam

  • Oh my, that was so beautiful. :)

  • i like these, i need a place to buy them tho. can u tell me where u got urs?

  • you should try blending colors with a cottonette and some turpentine, it really makes it look good

  • cute5* i hate prisma color pencils for being so expencive! but nice vid!

  • WTF is "expencive"? The proper spelling of the word is E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E dumbass.

  • JESUS! thank you for the answer!

  • OhMyGod! can i say it like that? maybe "thank you for your answer"? Now you`re talking!! I`m so dumb...

  • dude it could of been a typo, realize how close the letter s is to the letter c, calm down.

  • i agree that people should calm down, but the fact that expensive and expencive sound the same phonetically means that it was most likely not a typo, and rather that the word was spelled wrong.

  • te falto el pico

  • jajaja si es verdad................ lol

  • circle, circle...color, color.

that was sweet and simple :) cheers !

  • I love these pencils.

  • oh maaan... the colors are so rich :\

    me wants some prismacolorrrrs!!! T.T

great job on that ducky! :)

  • that not a duck

  • sry... whatever. bird.

  • wow. i like that.

  • Got a set for my birthday so I want to learn how to use them, thanks

  • Just last nite I got the 120 set on Ebay for $62 with free shipping. Also, I bought a Prismacolor hand sharpener at Aaron Brothers which works great for these pencils.

  • 0_0 ... $50 for a set... WHAT! AW MAN, this sucks i didn't know they were that valueble, sheesh! i thought they would be like $10-$20 dollars!wait did you say ebay cause ebays sells rip offs so i might have hope... (0_0) ^_^ |:D

  • you can get a 12 pencil set for like 15 bucks at my school they sell them for 1/2 price if you buy their art kit :)

  • where can you buy these pencils ive been searching on google ,but where can i buy them in Temecula?

  • Michaels, obviously.

  • i recently got into prismacolor pencils, but if you didn't know prismacolor has a pencil made special for blending, i haven't played around with it enough to see how good it is so i don't know which way is better, anyway love the bird, simple but nice!

  • can someone help me? ty.

i kinda wanna make a kind of concept art.. but not the same.. i kinda blend alot. and i need lots of difernt sets of coulors. can someoen recomend me color pencils.. markers... pens.. anything plz just help me! :) thank you!

  • A slightly less expensive alternative to Prismacolor Colored Pencils would be Walnut Hollow Oil Pencils. They have soft leads, making them good for blending, and sharpen well. I got my set at Michael's Craft Store.

  • how do you sharpen prismacolor pencils?

  • I use an electric sharpener. If you use a manual sharpener, it tends to fracture the leads in the pencil if you happen to twist the pencil while sharpening. If you have to use a manual sharpener, turn the sharpener, not the pencil. Broken leads in the pencil will break when you sharpen.

If you find that a pencil keeps breaking when you sharpen it, it's probably because it was dropped a lot either at home or in the store.

  • @1of2shoes haaa haaa ya that happens to me all the time

  • @kunkunkunkun1

My art teacher uses a razor blade, works pretty good.

  • StingOne: I have prismacolor markers as well and there is a definite difference when coloring with them. The pencils are wax-based, so that allows you to smoosh the colors into each other for great blending. The markers are alcohol-based and I've found that you have to work fairly quickly to keep the edge of color wet to get a good blend of colors. Just keep a lot of marker ink on the paper for a good blend but not too much or your ink will bleed where you don't want it.

  • hey, waymard15, you made me look twice at the end of the video! :) It was the same color, but I think the shadow from the overhead light made the pencil look darker. I try to keep only the colors I'm using on my desktop so that I don't grab the wrong color. Thanks for asking.

  • out of curiosity, was that last color the same as the two colors you were using because it looked different to me...

  • does it work the same with prismacolor markers?

  • i want a set of marker prismas but i dont got 89$ for it

  • they are under $50 for a set on ebay.

  • ok, now I finally know why my prisma pics don't look as nice as everyone elses! I've just bought myself one and tried it out and it looks SO much nicer!!! *goes to stock up!*

  • how much are prismacolor pencils?

  • um depends a 12 set it like 14$ a 7 set 7$

  • I love this, thanks for posting

  • Prismacolor pencils are highly pigmented and wax-based. The wax is why they blend so well together. The colorless blender is just the wax, no color, so if you use the colorless blender, it works, but if you use it too much, it does cast a gray haze over your artwork. Have fun coloring!!

  • what kind of paper do you use ?

  • I use Wausau cardstock. I get it at Kelly Paper near where I live, but you can order online. It's an 80# coverstock with a brightness of 92. It comes 250 sheets to a ream and costs around $10. I like it because it is smooth and white. If you use a rough-type of paper, you have to work too hard coloring in all the spaces. :)

  • Thanks for this :] My set just got delievered today & I can't wait to use them!

  • do psrimas work better than crayola colors? Because, i've been using Crayola, and my coloring isn't too good.. well, blending isnt... AT ALL. is it just how i color, or is it the pecnils? (im new at art, so im rather confused on what pencils to have =(

  • i have both, prismas are softer then normal colored pencils so the colors come out alot deeper when pressed down, since there soft they can blend easily without having to do alot fo work for it. i use both in my drawings pismas for coloring and crayolas for more direct detail but more depends on what u are doing at the time. there more expensive but the color comes out alot better

  • ah... Thank you for telling me this =)

  • Prismas rule over Crayola. It's almost impossible to blend with Crayolas. Make sure you also have good quality paper to lay down several layers. It could be you or the pencils, but get a few prismas (basic colors) and you'll feel the difference immediately.

  • I don't have enough money for Prismas, but I'll get some as soon as I can. Thanks for the opinion!

  • Prismacolor is the best colored pencil.

  • Prisma colouring pencils are very food pencils-great colour

  • im shocked its the same way i used to colour..cool

  • Thank you for posting this. :D I never used colored pencils before recently, so this was definitely helpful.

  • awsome

  • I love these pencils. And Crayola and Roseart pencils too. They have vibrant colors

  • dude you are working to hard just buy the colorless blender

  • LOL...I was thinking the same!

  • Yes, but the colorless blender alsocan also leave a murky haze over dark colors.

  • i pull out the color, i press hard and use directional marks

  • wow it's like you do at home!!! PUMPKIN ORANGE!!!

  • fabulous!! I'm still not sure I can figure out how to pick colors & know WHERE to put the highlights!

  • Thanks Debbie!!! I'm always wondering how you do your awesome coloring! Glad I could see you in action ;)
