I agree with escos 5079 about reliability. People who often get preconceived views about cars from people, including the media who are basing their lazy viewpoints on outdated information.

I have owned a 1996 Alfa GTV for a year and a half, and all iv'e spent is on servicing, no repairs

I have never owned a fiat coupe, but I am sure they are as reliable as everything else, if cared for.

PS: Nothing wrong with fords either

i no for a fact people i no have had fiat 20v turbs the standard turbos are shitt and very weak prone for turbo seals going me mate just bought one had it a week and the things smoking like a mother fucker and fiat has very bad electrics as well as for reliable they cost a small fortune to maintain as well and also watch out for the engines

i have had mine for five years and it is perfectly fine serviced regularley electrics have never failed and engine is bullet proof as long as it is serviced properly my car is also draged alot!!! and as for the turbo if your mates jump in the car start it and boot it about while its cold then yes obviously the seals would go as they would on a nissan 200sx which uses the same turbo but is that unreliable?

the turbo 16v version is very reliable..

this particular engine cames from the Lancia Delta HF 4WD since 1986 and Delta HF Integrale 16v Evoluzione (called "Deltone") since 1991.. so it was modified many many times before the production on a coupè. from 1986 until 1994 (to 1996) .. ten years of engine!! after all this time of production, is obvious that it becames reliable!! ... bye bye :)
