I used to play a combination of Zildjian and Sabian because both companies do certain things well, but neither are rounded out for my taste sound-wise. I now play with all Dream Cymbals. All of them are rides. What i like is that all of their rides can also be used a crashes and vice versa. I use a 16"energy crash with a 16" bliss crash as hi-hats. It sounds SICK! People everywhere are like "what the hell kind of cymbals are those? I WANT THEM!"
I had the option between an 18 inch HHX china.... And a 20 inch Dream china....... *hits HHX* wow that sounds cool. *checks tag and shoots self* hits Dream....*HOW FUCKIN MUCH?!* 95 bucks *I'LL FUCKIN TAKE IT*!
These are awesome cymbals at great prices. Right up there (if not further ahead) with the 'big' names. i think the overall standard of the 'big' names has dropped greatly over the past 10-15 years since they all started introducing their budget lines. i've got a 16" A custom that sounds like a 2 year-old made it.
picked up a Contact ride 20 in yesterday , , , beautiful sound. Took it home and it sounds like my 22 zildjian so I returned and exchanges it for a Bliss Vintage saved 30$ and got a more jazz , dark mellow ride for $129 ! They have a 15in bliss hi hats , , man that was nice for $145 !
I have top of line zildjians and sabians. Dreams can be yours for 1/3 the cost. I wish I had this option 20 years ago.
Don't go praising these things or they will raise the prices through the roof. The prices have gone up already on these. Musicians are making less money these days. We need cymbals like these made by cheap labor in Chinese sweat shops.Hence the somewhat reasonable cost of these.Plenty of profit being made on these already so I hope dealers don't get greedy or just buy used instead and the Hell with the dealers.
i am pretty sure that if these cymbals costed a fortune, they would be very very much appreciated.. unfortunately, a cheap cymbal is (generally) considered as a bad cymbal.. the same thinks happens to me though.. but i like think i m gonna buy a bliss ride soon
These are great cymbals. I own a pair of 14" bliss hats. Incredible sound: perfect blend of trash, voice/tone and volume. A must have at a price you can't beat!
i orderd zildjian a custom pack, and they are on back order, and i just bought a 14" dream bliss crash, and im thinking about fucking the zildjians and buying all dream cymbals
a CONVENTIONAL metal drummers nightmare. but who would want to be conventional? i know metal drummers who use very thin cymbals and they sound awesome. adds an overall trashy element without excessive china use lol.
the best priced hand hammered cymbals on the planet!! they sound amazing, they are durable and they shine (visually and audibly). i have bags of cymblas and these are the only ones i use now.
I agree, most companies cannot duplicate the same cymbal that closely. It's kind of nice but not at the same time. I think Sabian does the best job at that.
But those Dream cymbals sound great. I want to check them out.
Dreamcymbals are much better than the Sabian XS 20. The XS 20 is the B20-entry level series and pressed into shape by machines. The Dreamcymbals are HANDHAMMERED!!!
I really love A's and K's....but have been really wanting to try Dreams' out. I play some jazz but a lot of R&B and rock. Do you guys think contact series or bliss? I love the bliss but want a little drive. And what about Crashes and splashes? Anyone know what does good with these? thanks. ron
That's a problem every cymbal brand has. My drum teacher has two Zildjian K 16" somethingoranother crashes that sound as different as a 14 and a 16. The exact same cymbal.
Actually ALL handmade cymbals sound individual. No matter if it's Zildjian or any other name brand. I've used Zildjian for 20 years so I do think I know what I'm talking about. Their quality really has dropped significantly over the years. I don't care if you people spend for overly priced cymbals, that's your own set back. Just know that obviously you're not buying your cymbals with ears and heart but with a brand in mind. Foolish in my opinion, but well, it's not my money you're spending :D
Warranty on Dream Cymbals? How does it compare to other brands out there? I don't want a broken cymbal in less than 2 years.

@Dragon5n About 5 months I'd say. I don't see any damage yet. I haven't had it bell up once. That might make a difference.
