Excuse me for being weird, but I could not help but to compare the wallpaper in the set with that of Dreyer's Vampyr. I also noticed that there is a visible ceiling in this shot- very unusual in film.
You'll find all three parts of the trilogy on piratebay (you'll need a torrent-downloader): 'le sang d'un poète', 'l'orphée' and 'le testament d'orphée'... maybe the torrents are still alive...
Je vous livre le secret des secrets. Les miroirs sont les portes par lesquelles la mort vient et va. Du reste, regardez-vous toute votre vie dans un miroir, et vous verrez la mort travailler, comme des abeilles dans une ruche de verr
does anyone have a link to the clip right after this part, when they go through the mirror and wander around (with english subtitles)?? i'm trying to find it for someone.
I believe the gentleman calling himself Bernard Profitendieu is pulling our collective leg. Everyone knows that Americans use the words "movie" and "film" with equal frequency. If an American uses the word "cinema," THAT's pretentious.
And it's pretentious for a Frenchman to claim he knows what's pretentious in America and what isn't.
Yes, as I'm sure you know, I was being facetious about the use of the word "cinema." And, just for the record, I don't use a knife and fork. I live on blood, like vampire bats, mosquitos and lawyers.

yes, it would be possible to post this entire "film" - it would also be possible for you to join Netflix and rent it yourself, you cheapskate!!
p.s. at what point in your life did you start calling movies films? I imagine about the same time you started turning your fork over when you ate! such pretension!
then you ought to let your imagination expand a little bit! - both are pretentious in the United States! (there are differences in both the use of English and of silverware between the British and the Americans!)

scot: 'If an American uses the word "cinema," THAT's pretentious'
Well, some of us would like to use that word, but the last guy who did was carried off to a dark, mysterious place.
And some people say there they play films like 'Date Movie' and 'Disaster Movie' continuously day after day. ;)
In all seriousness, who cares what words are used, so long as people are actually interested in quality 'films'. ;)

Bernard Profitendieu suggests that "knowledge doesn't stop at the border." In his case it obviously does:
"A beautiful film about several nasty people" - Roger Ebert
"More film Reviews" - Variety
"Writer-director Zoya Akhtar displays assured storytelling skills in a film about chasing fame in India's movie industry." Los Angeles Times
"All New York Times film reviews from 1960 to present are available." New York Times

that guy is an American for chrissakes!!
and, yes, I know there's more to the world than the US - I am not American - do a little research before commenting (it's just a click away)

Never in my life have I imagined the use of the word 'film' as pretentious.
The same goes for turning your fork over when you eat.
No offence, but perhaps you're not as knowledgable about the intricacies of the English language as you'd like to think.
Fair point about renting the film, though.
