i'm not familiar with the sufjan disc (i'm not really keen on being proselytized to), but the string/drum combination here reminded me a lot of steve reich, who is probably an influence on the sufjan disc.
The first minute reminds me of the beginning of the Bambi song "Drip Drip Drop Little April Showers" (don't act like you don't know.) but hipsterfied.
Whoever disliked this must just be a deaf person disappointed that they're missing out on an amazing song and that there's no accompanying video to soften the blow.
@danielryer It's probably the most experimental track on the album, and completely unlike anything else out there. Just like most works of absolute genius, it will be divisive.
