They ain't brothers you know(not even emotionally). Rubedo already mentioned they are friends/comrades. So no "brotherly love" there. Though it's admittedly kinda Yaoish. More like "Boy's love". It's nice for girls who like shounen-ai.

Three so terribly different brothers, all who loathe their father for giving them this life of suffering, one of whom eventually kills him...

I am reminded, very slightly, of "The Brothers Karamazov"- there is no strong link there at all, but for some reason that idea just came to me.

This scene, THAT Albedo scene from episode I, and Virgil's final scene are- to me- the most beautiful moments of the saga.
