Joseph Smith and Brigham Young are both in Hell. Neither of them were prophets. The mormon church is one of the vilest cults ever foisted upon mankind next to islam. Jim Jones and Joseph Smith were both whack jobs and inventors of a cult.
@Sk8er408 I figure some lost fool like you would reply. I guess yall don't have Holy Underwear too ! I have some but they have nothing to do with religion ! Try watching "The Bible vs The Book of Morman". I'm sure you'll still feel the same ! Tell me, why is it so many Mormans are leaving the religion after learning all the REAL TRUTH ? Research the facts and take off your blinders. The funny thing is I'll still be praying all of you will wake up befor its too late !
Im not LDS but what do u have against their modesty? I didnt get my information from the net like u. I know it is hard for u to differentiate fact from fiction but u need to stop with the bigoted view of people in general.
People usually leave the LDS church when they are filled with lies and they have a reason to believe them. You even know they are lies... you just refuse to admit it.
@Sk8er408 Fact 1, Joseph Smith was arrested and its a matter of record, 2 Joseph Smith was shot and killed trying to escape incarceration( but Mormans call it religious persicution) 3 Jesus died for my sins, he didn't run from religious persicution, he freely walked toward it. Call me what you want, I know where my destiny lies. I'm not blinded by the teachings of a false prophet ! Like it says in the Real Bible, there is no other God but me, beware of the false prophets !
@scubadude72060 And by the way, I haven't gotten my facts from the net, I'm married to an EX Morman who's parents are still Mormans who have beeb sealed in the Temple. And your right, Mormans are wonderful devout people. I openly invite them in when they do their drive by visits, but even they can't argue with every fact I ask, they usually get frustrated and leave !
You are right... they can not argue with every fact you ask as they are not facts. Once you realize that you will understand... you are seriously ignorant.
You think JS being arrested counts bad on him but tout Jesus arrest. Then you try to claim he was shot trying to escape incarceration. You are worthless to talk with.. People usually get frustrated trying to explain simple facts to dullard that can not grasp the most simple ones.
@Sk8er408 I'm sorry for offending you, I didn't realize you were the perfect one in the crowd that threw the first stone ! You live by your truth and I'll by mine and maybe if we're lucky we'll meet and can laugh about it one day ! I content with living by my Bible and it's teaching. Take care, I see no more reasons for responding.
JS was not shot and killed trying to escape incarceration he was murdered by a mob that painted their faces black... they stormed the jail where he willingly submitted to an unjust warrant.
Why are you comparing JS with Jesus? I always see this as a highly deceptive tactic that those using it do it in ignorance. Do you know who Peter is? What did he do to avoid religious persecution?
You are a derelict. Real bible? Is there a fake one?
MORmON Joseph Smith Drank Wine and smocked tobacco! JOSEPH gave Dr. Richards two dollars to give the guard; but the guard said one was enough, and would take no more. The guard immediately sent FOR A BOTTLE OF WINE, pipes, and two small papers of tobacco; and one of the guards brought them into the jail soon after the jailor went out. Dr. Richards uncorked the bottle, AND PRESENTED A GLASS TO JOSEPH,WHO TASTED,AS BROTHER TAYLOR AND THE DOCTOR...(History of the Church,Vol. 6, page 616).
@Chinaculiacan So your saying he did drink wine? Im not argueing with that.
I was being a bit tounge in cheek , But logic and reason tells me they werent sitting around toasting there situation with a glass of wine. They were getting fricken drunk because they were in fear for their lives. If your familiar with drinking wine , then you would know that 1 bottle between 3 men is hardly enough to dull the senses. Ill take back the inuendo that they were smoking weed though.
@Mk101T Oh nice! So I'm a true prophet of God, I get drunk, I smoke weed, and I killed 2 people and wounded 1 in the process because? I'm a Martyr? Hum? Was Peter afraid when he even asked to be crucified head down because he didn't feel worthy to be crucified like the savior? Or did John the Baptist put up a fight to keep his head? Or Paul as well?.
@Chinaculiacan Okely dokely , I think you might want to consider your rage level. And is it healthy to your personal well being?
I understand the rage your feeling ... I think ... My guess is you have found out that Joseph Smith Lied , and that action has continued through out the mormon religion?
My only consolation for what I have found is ... perception is so complicated that lies are inevitable. Have faith but start with faith in yourself ... only from there can you branch faith.
This blonde haired man is the weakest person I've ever seen in my life. I wouldn't care if he kept his weakling beliefs to himself, but he's trying to poison everyone else with them. For that he should be thrown off the air, and possibly serve prison time.
Mormonism is a cult. This guy is the perfect example of that. They say everyone outside of their group is only lying. That's their trump card, albeit a weak one. Mormonism is a cult!
@freestanding1000 It's funny how they go on about how anything that speaks against the MORmON church is anti MORmON, yet nothing they teach is classed as anti Christian!! lol
Heheh I'm a mormon but the way John tells the host he looks like his not the type that keeps the WOW law displeases me. The host of the show might look like his not into the mormon thing, but we should never judge anyone how God will judge him in the end. Everyone is free to do anything and I am pro freedom. People can do whatever they want, but we must never pull anyone to mormonism with tactics that never takes into account somebody's freewill. But I'm a still a mormon hehe.
@lonskieg Have you noticed that Shawn looks similary to the pictures of Jesus in a Mormon chapel? Or John the Baptist?
John the Baptist never cut his hair, ate grass hoppers and lived in the wild and never washed. I doubt he'd be into the mormon thing too ;) Just food for thought
The LDS chuch will go to any length to protect and justify the delusional writings and "translations" of their "prophet", Joseph Smith.
The Bible IS the devine, inspired word of God and does not need to be supplemented by the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price.
Cut to the chaff (or cut to the chase if you prefer) Joseph Smith was a false "prophet" and the LDS church is nothing more than a cult.
@DiscipleofElijah Elijah, dude, you are going to make lots of mormons mad!! lol, who care right? is useless, they believe this womenizer blindly anyway, and they repeat, I know i know i know i know the church is true, one problem, Christ did not come to establish a church, He came to establish a kingdom! John 18:35-37 and his kingdom is not of this world, but hey, they know they have the true church LOL.

Sad that people don't see that commandments and all the things of God are not to bind/restrict us but to give us greater freedom, peace and happiness. Until the world realizes this they will continue to ignore and fight against God's laws and claim their "freedom" while doing so.
What I dont get is that science has now proven that alchohol drugs smoking etc are all bad for you!! Something Joseph said ages ago! So he knew it was bad for u b4 science did.. huh?
@chickflickaddict91 how? well, they already knew that drugs and alchohol were bad, but the smoking? that was just a lucky guess. seriously thats not that big of a feat of anything
@FallenSkorm keep believing just listen at this idiots fight over some stupid crap thats more than likely a bunch of bullshit just look at religion overall wars being fought over religion people killing each other over it its stupid
@FallenSkorm dude are you a moron? who ever said i was atheist , just because i think all religions are stupid doesnt mean im athiest, think before you speak dumb fuck
Shawn come on, the bible teaches that our bodies are temples and we should treat them as such. Not only that but alcohol, drugs, ect. affect are health as well as our ability to feel the spirit. IT IS NOT USED AS A MEASURE AS TO WHETHER YOU CAN KNOW GOD OR NOT. It is inspired by God and meant to enable greater happiness for all those who follow His law.
You know all this talk about whether drinking is wrong or not, well don't forget the Bible also says not to eat shellfish, so all of you against drinking better remember NOT to go to the Red Lobster or lightning may strike you down. Just saying.
@Thatsamistery That depends who you ask. I know very straight-lined fundie types that take Bible word for word. If it's in the Bible than it's correct. So I know plenty that would say you are wrong. Nevertheless Jesus never said it's wrong to drink. Which is what the whole thing boils down too.
@MsMambomama Again, it's not about the caffeine. The Word of Wisdom has nothing about caffeine, it's just "hot drinks" which mean tea and coffee. There are chemicals and such in these drinks that we should not consume. We can eat chocolate, even Mountain Dew.
@dantheman201190 Again, I've heard this "reasoning" one BILLION times on the Yahoo boards (and elsewhere on the Internet). "How many people have died from pot?" Blah blah blah. Same old thing. Same old excuses. As if that makes it okay. Even if marijuana were GOOD for you, it doesn't mean we should smoke it! We as grown adults shouldn't use mind-altering drugs. Surely you know that. Anyway, I have to go--I have things to do! Take care!
@dantheman201190 Yes, god made a mistake. Sheesh. How old are you? Don't you think that as a grown adult we should be setting an example and NOT USING DRUGS??? And I've heard that line about "God made this plant" a million times--people say that all the time on the Internet. He made poison ivy, too. It doesn't mean we should smoke it! Come on, surely you know better. Set an example! You don't need to use drugs. Aren't you better than that? Or are you just pulling my leg? It's a joke, right? Lol.
@dantheman201190 All you grown adults who stand up for marijuana, it's just unbelievable. Think of the example you set! It goes against everything that most parents try to teach their kids about drugs and life. Most parents teach their kids to to NEVER use drugs, kid or adult. And yes, I understand that many of these same parents think nothing of using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol. That is not right, either. I'm totally against that as well.
@dantheman201190 Oh no, not another person saying "pot is safer than alcohol!" Oh I can't believe it! I've heard THAT excuse one BILLION times!! Aarrgghh! That still doesn't make it right! I've posted this over and over and over on the Yahoo boards, every time there's a story about marijuana or alcohol. It's the same thing, people using the excuse, "Pot is safer than alcohol." We shouldn't use pot OR alcohol! They are both mind-altering drugs! Surely you understand that.
@dantheman201190 Also, as far as chocolate causing diabetes, I guess you haven't seen my lowcarb weight-loss story. That's been all over the Internet for the past ten years! I've worked very hard to stay away from sugar (for the most part!) and changing my eating habits, and to lose weight. That's what my whole weight loss story is about! I address all that stuff about sugar, diabetes, etc. I've talked about this stuff for YEARS! And yes, I know all about how drugs work.
@dantheman201190 You people, honestly. What are you trying to do? What do you want from me? You want to prove me "wrong" so that I'll drop out of the church? All these arguments about chocolate, booze, tea, coffee, etc. I've heard a MILLION times before. I've been making posts like this on the Internet for ten years, and it's always the same thing. I'm a convert to the LDS church. I believe in the Word of Wisdom. It's a good thing. It helps us. Deal with it.
@dantheman201190 It does?? Oh my goodness, yet ANOTHER person telling me something I had NEVER heard before!! Haha. You people, honestly. Okay, I KNOW that chocolate releases serotonin, etc. But the Word of Wisdom doesn't caution against it, and also you could eat 50 pounds of chocolate and NEVER get drunk or even tipsy. Alcohol even in low doses has been linked to cancer. And it's a mind-altering drug. That's like saying it's okay to smoke pot in low doses. Plus we have the Word of Wisdom.
@MsMambomama That's not a nice thing to say. I'm a convert to the LDS church and take offense at that. I know there may be some Mormons with "blindness and pride issues" about certain things, but that doesn't make the church not true. There are people like that all over the place!
@dantheman201190 Also, I know that chocolate has caffeine. The Word of Wisdom isn't about caffeine. We are allowed to eat chocolate, so I'm gonna eat it! I like it! I try to eat just a bit of dark, dark chocolate, though, because it has less sugar than regular kinds. Anyway, why do people try to put down the Word of Wisdom? It's like they want EXCUSES to drink booze, coffee and tea. I was attracted to the church all those years ago because Mormons didn't use these things!
@dantheman201190 Oh really? Gee, I hadn't heard that wine has "proven" to be healthy in small amounts!! Wow, you are the FIRST to tell me this! That means the church isn't true and I shall have to drop out immediately!!! Sheesh. Okay, as I've said a MILLION times before, there may be some health benefits to wine, but the risks far outweigh them. I could go on and on (and HAVE) but there is a character limit here. And even if it were healthy, it's a MIND-ALTERING DRUG! That alone makes it wrong.
@MsMambomama Again, it's NOT about the caffeine!!! The Word of Wisdom isn't about caffeine!! Yes, we can have chocolate! We can have Mountain Dew with caffeine in it if we want to!! The Word of Wisdom just counsels against "hot drinks" which we believe to be tea and coffee. Read up on The Word of Wisdom. We don't know all the reasons why we are to avoid these drinks. Also, don't put down the whole church just because of a few people and their behavior.
Jesus spoke the Word of Wisdom. Jesus drank wine. Put 1 and 1 together sometime. It will do ya some good for a change! Also nice job ignoring the Lafferty brothers part. Somethings some people don't want to admit even though it is reality!
@mjg032 Here we go again with "Jesus drank wine." I hear that over and over and over!! Every time I speak up against alcohol on the Yahoo boards, millions of people out of nowhere come out of the woodwork and say, "Jesus drank wine." Like they're the first person to ever notice this!!! Again, in the LDS church, we have The Word of Wisdom to help us. It's a good thing to know to avoid certain substances that harm us physically and spiritually.
@mjg032 Well as I said, there are studies that show even in low doses alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. It also damages women's brains faster than men's. Yahoo ran articles about this. And alcohol is a highly-addictive psychoactive drug. And of course not everyone will be addicted, but there is the potential. It's just that we as adults should know better than to use mind-altering drugs anyway. I sure have no desire to.
Sorry just not gonna be paranoid about it. You can be. In the end Jesus serve wine to his apostles. That's enough for me. You claim Mormons know the Word of the Lord the best? Really?! Read about the Lafferty brothers sometime. If what they did is the Word of the Lord, than I want nothing to do with it!!!!
@mjg032 We didn't have The Word of Wisdom back then. The Word of Wisdom is something the Lord gave to the Church to help us physically and spiritually. It just isn't good to use alcohol. It's a toxin, it poisons cells. But as I always say, even if it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong. I know people say "Jesus drank wine" and they also always use the excuse, "everything in moderation." But that's like saying it's okay to smoke pot in moderation.
I'm a convert to the LDS church, and one of the things that attracted me to the church all those years ago was knowing that Mormons (the Osmonds for example) don't drink, smoke, use drugs, or even coffee or tea. I was raised Episcopalian and thought you had to at least drink booze, that it's just what you did. But it didn't seem right. So I investigated the LDS church, and the more I learned, the more I knew I had to join. My husband isn't LDS and he doesn't drink, either.
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed." Gal 1:6-8.
Many so-called 'christians' who like to be pharisees and claim that drinking any alcohol is a sin. They also like to claim the grape juice thing about the Wine that Jesus drank. The Bible truth shows that Jesus drank alcohol, even the people who drank that wine identified it as Good wine, like the wine that those would GET DRUNK WITH and then bring out the cheap drink.
@buzzbbird Yeah, we know that people could get drunk drinking wine back then. That still doesn't make it right to drink it today. Even without The Word of Wisdom, it's just common sense that people shouldn't use alcohol! A grown adult should be WELL PAST the age where they want to use a mind-altering drug to enjoy life, relax and unwind, etc. I have absolutely no desire to use this drug. I had stopped even before I became a Mormon.
@fungirl2002 *where does it say joesph drink some wine?* Joseph, Hyrum and others drank wine while singing songs in Carthage Jail (History of the Church, 7:101).
@Nepthu Alcohol is a toxin. It poisons cells. Even in low doses, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with other cancers. But even if it were good for you, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong. People who would NEVER smoke pot think nothing of using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol. It drives me nuts! And then they use the excuse, "Jesus drank wine." Nobody is drinking wine or any other booze to be more like Jesus.
@Nepthu Yes, we Mormons all know this stuff. I've heard the excuse, "Jesus drank wine" a million times. That still doesn't mean that we should do this. Why do people want use to drink booze? Here we have The Word of Wisdom which helps us understand why we shouldn't use alcohol, and people put us down for that!!
@bobbyraejohnson The LDS Church IS a Jesus Christ centered church. That's what it's all about! I've been a Mormon for over 30 years and know that we are more Christian than any other church! We do NOT worship Joseph Smith. We worship Jesus Christ. So many people think that Mormons worship Joseph Smith! Even I didn't know what the LDS church was about when I was younger. I was raised Episcopalian, never dreamed I'd become a "Mormon." I didn't even know what that was or if they believed in Christ!
The word of wisdom is not bad to follow but it said hot drinks so should stop drinking hot chocolate and this church really is still young the health movement was just starting to go public we are not talking about jesus time
@WingsOfASnowhiteDove Mormon Joseph Smith Drank Wine and smocked tobacco! JOSEPH gave Dr. Richards two dollars to give the guard; but the guard said one was enough, and would take no more. Dr. Richards uncorked the bottle,AND PRESENTED A GLASS TO JOSEPH,WHO TASTED,AS BROTHER TAYLOR AND THE DOCTOR...
It says in the History of the Church that he and others drank wine and smoked cigars. He had the guards send for them while he was in jail. I actually have copies of it. The sad thing is, they are afraid to test all things. I grew up LDS, you are constantly being reminded NOT to seek anything outside of LDS. As far as this guy's gym comment...that's incredibly worldly...who cares! Jesus is all that matters!
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:2-4
@71cKwl Whether it is or isn't Jesus never spoke out against. it. There were no specifics. Wine is the Blood of Christ. Not Caprisun. That was more from Joseph Smith's delusions than anything based in reality, and that's the truth of the matter.
@71cKwl This is a CLASSIC Mormon answer, haahahahahaha! I lost count on how many times my Mormon friends tell me this. So tell me this- so what matters is the percentage of the alcohol in the wine? Because though you may be correct on whether or not the wine back then was not as strong, people still got DRUNK off of them!! Does that mean that Mormons should be willing to drink watered down wine? Come on! The argument that the wine then is like today's form of juice is just bogus. Wine is wine.
@mjg032 In many cases the water was unsafe to drink back then. What matters is today, though. We now know that alcohol is a toxin. It poisons cells. Even in low doses, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. But even if it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong. You wouldn't smoke pot, would you? Yet grown adults think nothing of using a psychoactive drug in the form of alcohol.
@cindybin2001 Umm, he's Jesus Christ. He, if anybody should know the effects of alcohol. He wouldn't of served it if it were. Who cares what people say "today"? I've known plenty of women who drink and never had breast cancer, and known who have who never touched the stuff. If that's the case we shouldn't drink coffee or have sugar. Although I can't stand pot it's hardly the worse thing out there. There's even medical use for it too. Think of it that way.
@mjg032 Oh for Pete's sake. Why can't people just accept the fact that we shouldn't use alcohol? The Word of Wisdom is to HELP us! That's one of the things that attracted me to the Church years ago, was knowing that Mormons don't use these substances. And of course not EVERY woman who drinks is going to get breast cancer. But it does increase the risk. Anyway, the Word of Wisdom is to help us. And we shouldn't drinkn. We as grown adults should know better than to use mind-altering drugs.
@mjg032 Yes, you are right, I am wrong. We should all use alcohol. I am dropping out of the Mormon church thanks to your comment. I can hardly wait to go to the liquor store. It's something I've always wanted to do but have been denying myself all these years I've been trapped in this stupid church. Thank goodness I am free at last!! Booze here I come!!! And I also plan to get some marijuana while I'm at it.
@cindybin2001 Cindy, you are forgetting something!! you are not getting closer to God by not drinking etc, but by this (Brigham Young) From the day that the priesthood was take from the earth to the winding up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith Junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are, I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent. Journal of Discourses 7:289. so what happened to Jesus?
@cindybin2001 Cindy, you need to stop your holier-than-thou attitude. That "water was unsafe" business is propaganda to deflect from the truth that Jesus drank wine! Why does it scare you SO much?
Joseph Smith drank wine in the 1800s. I guess you'll say his water was unsafe to drink too. You should lighten up and pour yourself a glass of wine. LOL
@Nepthu Here we go again with people calling me "holier-than-thou" because I say we shouldn't use alcohol. I am so sick of that! People have told me that online for YEARS. Believe me, the more people tell me that, the more determined I am to speak up against alcohol and marijuana. Anyway, The Word of Wisdom is to HELP us. It's a GOOD thing. That's one of the things that attracted me to the LDS church years ago was knowing that it's members did not use alcohol, etc.
@cindybin2001 I'm afraid your critical thinking skills aren't that good so let me explain this:
The reason people tell you that you are "holier-than-thou" is because your opinion against wine is ignorant. Jesus said to DRINK WINE at the sacrament. PERIOD. THE END! Get it?
Christians go by the Bible, they don't go by your online opinion.
You are ignorant to the fact that Joseph Smith drank WINE after he gave the Word of Wisdom!
@Nepthu Yes, I know Jesus said to drink wine. That's what many drank back then. But it doesn't mean we should drink it now. We were given The Word of Wisdom in the early days of the Church to HELP us. That's a good thing. I don't know about Joseph Smith drinking wine--if he did, just remember it was the early days of the church. Things are different now. We don't know exactly what happened back then for sure as to this. In any case, we should be thankful for the Word of Wisdom!
@Nepthu I can't believe your attitude! Here a church has this good thing called The Word of Wisdom which helps us physically and spiritually, and you put it down, try to disprove it, try to stand up for using alcohol. That is terrible. You shouldn't even have to be LDS or religous to know not to use alcohol! It's a toxin! And a mind-altering drug! That alone makes it wrong! You wouldn't smoke pot, would you? Heck no. Yet grown adults think nothing of using a psychoactive drug like booze.
@Nepthu One of the things that ATTRACTED me to the LDS church all those years ago was knowing Mormons don't use alcohol! I always thought you HAD to drink, to be cool and a "grownup". But I knew this wasn't right. I investigated the LDS church and the more I learned, the more I realized I had to join. As for Joseph Smith, we don't know for sure what happened then, also the church was young, etc. Also wine was different. In any case, we shouldn't drink it TODAY. You should agree with me on that!
@Nepthu Yes, you are right and I am wrong. I am totally holier-than-thou and Joseph Smith drank wine and that makes him a false prophet, and that means it is okay to drink wine. So I'm going to drop out of this wacky cult immediately and go to the nearest bar. I can hardly wait. Thank you so much to all the anti-Mormon people out there who have helped me see the light.
@cindybin2001 Run Cindy!! Run. LOL, Cindy Stop!! you can't go to heaven and be With Christ and God! You need to have a passport, and a certificate to be in heaven!! Run Cindy run!! Hahahahahaha!! Because you can't go there without Joseph consenct!! Hahahaha.. LOL again, Run Cindy and ask Joseph, Don't go to the liquor store.
@mjg032 Everybody uses that excuse, "Jesus drank wine." I get that all the time whenever I speak up against alcohol. We are given The Word of Wisdom to help us physically and spiritually. It isn't good to use alcohol, it is a toxin. Even it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong.
My pet mormon On it i can depend My pet mormon A monster as a friend It's big and blue and scary But a friendly mormon too! My Pet mormon Pet mormon I distrust you! It's always playing scary tricks But I know that's okay Cause it's just having lots of fun In it's own mormon way It loves to munch on garbage It'll even eat the cans! If this sounds gross, please understand It's my best friend! My Pet Mormon My very bestest friend My Pet Mormon
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Christian church. We believe the Bible to be the word of God and live by it. We don't believe that only members go to Heaven. We believe all good people will go to Heaven : ) Go to lds.org or mormon.org to start discover the truth : )
@liberty4all4life thats the problem, believing that all good people will go to heaven. the bible says that no one can come to the father except through Jesus because thats what he died for. If people can get to heaven without jesus than what was the point of his death then? Jesus also said that many whothink theyll go to heaven wont.
@liberty4all4life What makes a person good? how do we know if we are good enough to go to Heaven and be with God. The Bible says, there is none worthy and that all fall short of the glory of God, hence the need for jesus' saving grace. CHRISTIANS believe Jesus' grace to be enough. Mormons however believe you need tons and tons of other qualifications. You being Mormon would know better than me what those are. Please don't try to put a nice face on Mormonism...
its impossible to keep all the commandments! the bible says that. the bible says that the law is the ministry of condemnation and death. and if you break one part of it you break all of it! thats why God changed that. He brought in the new covanent! thats why Jesus died! Jesus' death would be in vain if He didnt forgive us of EVERYTHING!!! The Bible says that.
this guy doesnt seem like such a shithead anymore...he kept his cool with that lost soul

Why don't you give me a fact?
Sk8er408 3 weeks ago
@Sk8er408 Fact 1, Joseph Smith was arrested and its a matter of record, 2 Joseph Smith was shot and killed trying to escape incarceration( but Mormans call it religious persicution) 3 Jesus died for my sins, he didn't run from religious persicution, he freely walked toward it. Call me what you want, I know where my destiny lies. I'm not blinded by the teachings of a false prophet ! Like it says in the Real Bible, there is no other God but me, beware of the false prophets !
scubadude72060 3 weeks ago
@scubadude72060 And by the way, I haven't gotten my facts from the net, I'm married to an EX Morman who's parents are still Mormans who have beeb sealed in the Temple. And your right, Mormans are wonderful devout people. I openly invite them in when they do their drive by visits, but even they can't argue with every fact I ask, they usually get frustrated and leave !
scubadude72060 3 weeks ago
@scubadude72060
Sk8er408 3 weeks ago
@Sk8er408 I'm sorry for offending you, I didn't realize you were the perfect one in the crowd that threw the first stone ! You live by your truth and I'll by mine and maybe if we're lucky we'll meet and can laugh about it one day ! I content with living by my Bible and it's teaching. Take care, I see no more reasons for responding.
scubadude72060 3 weeks ago
@scubadude72060
I'm not offended... It was you that cast that first stone... I just called you on it and not you are in a corner and feel the need to lash out.
I'll live by G-ds truth... you can live by your own understanding.
Remeber to put G-d first and not a book.
Sk8er408 3 weeks ago
@scubadude72060
JS was arrested... And?

Mk101T 2 months ago
@Mk101T Because without faith in your self , and considering your self first (this does not mean being selfish) What would anything else matter?
Meaning you have no more important reason to participate in life than for your own enjoyment and well being.
From this observation (which your own is all you have) can you make a true decision towards happyness.
Anything else is being subjagated

The LDS chuch will go to any length to protect and justify the delusional writings and "translations" of their "prophet", Joseph Smith.
The Bible IS the devine, inspired word of God and does not need to be supplemented by the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price.
Cut to the chaff (or cut to the chase if you prefer) Joseph Smith was a false "prophet" and the LDS church is nothing more than a cult.

@MsMambomama Again, it's not about the caffeine. The Word of Wisdom has nothing about caffeine, it's just "hot drinks" which mean tea and coffee. There are chemicals and such in these drinks that we should not consume. We can eat chocolate, even Mountain Dew.

I wonder if The Baker–Fancher Party drank.Maybe THAT was the justification!!!!
mjg032 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Again, I've heard this "reasoning" one BILLION times on the Yahoo boards (and elsewhere on the Internet). "How many people have died from pot?" Blah blah blah. Same old thing. Same old excuses. As if that makes it okay. Even if marijuana were GOOD for you, it doesn't mean we should smoke it! We as grown adults shouldn't use mind-altering drugs. Surely you know that. Anyway, I have to go--I have things to do! Take care!
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Yes, god made a mistake. Sheesh. How old are you? Don't you think that as a grown adult we should be setting an example and NOT USING DRUGS??? And I've heard that line about "God made this plant" a million times--people say that all the time on the Internet. He made poison ivy, too. It doesn't mean we should smoke it! Come on, surely you know better. Set an example! You don't need to use drugs. Aren't you better than that? Or are you just pulling my leg? It's a joke, right? Lol.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 All you grown adults who stand up for marijuana, it's just unbelievable. Think of the example you set! It goes against everything that most parents try to teach their kids about drugs and life. Most parents teach their kids to to NEVER use drugs, kid or adult. And yes, I understand that many of these same parents think nothing of using a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol. That is not right, either. I'm totally against that as well.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Oh no, not another person saying "pot is safer than alcohol!" Oh I can't believe it! I've heard THAT excuse one BILLION times!! Aarrgghh! That still doesn't make it right! I've posted this over and over and over on the Yahoo boards, every time there's a story about marijuana or alcohol. It's the same thing, people using the excuse, "Pot is safer than alcohol." We shouldn't use pot OR alcohol! They are both mind-altering drugs! Surely you understand that.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Also, as far as chocolate causing diabetes, I guess you haven't seen my lowcarb weight-loss story. That's been all over the Internet for the past ten years! I've worked very hard to stay away from sugar (for the most part!) and changing my eating habits, and to lose weight. That's what my whole weight loss story is about! I address all that stuff about sugar, diabetes, etc. I've talked about this stuff for YEARS! And yes, I know all about how drugs work.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 You people, honestly. What are you trying to do? What do you want from me? You want to prove me "wrong" so that I'll drop out of the church? All these arguments about chocolate, booze, tea, coffee, etc. I've heard a MILLION times before. I've been making posts like this on the Internet for ten years, and it's always the same thing. I'm a convert to the LDS church. I believe in the Word of Wisdom. It's a good thing. It helps us. Deal with it.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 It does?? Oh my goodness, yet ANOTHER person telling me something I had NEVER heard before!! Haha. You people, honestly. Okay, I KNOW that chocolate releases serotonin, etc. But the Word of Wisdom doesn't caution against it, and also you could eat 50 pounds of chocolate and NEVER get drunk or even tipsy. Alcohol even in low doses has been linked to cancer. And it's a mind-altering drug. That's like saying it's okay to smoke pot in low doses. Plus we have the Word of Wisdom.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@MsMambomama That's not a nice thing to say. I'm a convert to the LDS church and take offense at that. I know there may be some Mormons with "blindness and pride issues" about certain things, but that doesn't make the church not true. There are people like that all over the place!
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Also, I know that chocolate has caffeine. The Word of Wisdom isn't about caffeine. We are allowed to eat chocolate, so I'm gonna eat it! I like it! I try to eat just a bit of dark, dark chocolate, though, because it has less sugar than regular kinds. Anyway, why do people try to put down the Word of Wisdom? It's like they want EXCUSES to drink booze, coffee and tea. I was attracted to the church all those years ago because Mormons didn't use these things!
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@dantheman201190 Oh really? Gee, I hadn't heard that wine has "proven" to be healthy in small amounts!! Wow, you are the FIRST to tell me this! That means the church isn't true and I shall have to drop out immediately!!! Sheesh. Okay, as I've said a MILLION times before, there may be some health benefits to wine, but the risks far outweigh them. I could go on and on (and HAVE) but there is a character limit here. And even if it were healthy, it's a MIND-ALTERING DRUG! That alone makes it wrong.
cindybin2001 9 months ago

Somethings some people don't want to admit even though it is reality!
mjg032 9 months ago
@mjg032 Here we go again with "Jesus drank wine." I hear that over and over and over!! Every time I speak up against alcohol on the Yahoo boards, millions of people out of nowhere come out of the woodwork and say, "Jesus drank wine." Like they're the first person to ever notice this!!! Again, in the LDS church, we have The Word of Wisdom to help us. It's a good thing to know to avoid certain substances that harm us physically and spiritually.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@cindybin2001 It only harms you if you let it. It shows weakness if you can't overcome it. THAT'S the "WOrds of Wisdom" to live by!
mjg032 9 months ago
@mjg032 Well as I said, there are studies that show even in low doses alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. It also damages women's brains faster than men's. Yahoo ran articles about this. And alcohol is a highly-addictive psychoactive drug. And of course not everyone will be addicted, but there is the potential. It's just that we as adults should know better than to use mind-altering drugs anyway. I sure have no desire to.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@cindybin2001 I don't remember any bible passage saying that Jesus drank herbal tea. So it's ok to ban herbal tea. Or is it?
MrJohnhockney 8 months ago
@MrJohnhockney All I know is The Word of Wisdom is to help us physically and spiritually. I never drank tea even before I joined the church.
cindybin2001 8 months ago
Sorry just not gonna be paranoid about it. You can be. In the end Jesus serve wine to his apostles. That's enough for me. You claim Mormons know the Word of the Lord the best? Really?! Read about the Lafferty brothers sometime. If what they did is the Word of the Lord, than I want nothing to do with it!!!!
mjg032 9 months ago
@mjg032 We didn't have The Word of Wisdom back then. The Word of Wisdom is something the Lord gave to the Church to help us physically and spiritually. It just isn't good to use alcohol. It's a toxin, it poisons cells. But as I always say, even if it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong. I know people say "Jesus drank wine" and they also always use the excuse, "everything in moderation." But that's like saying it's okay to smoke pot in moderation.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
I'm a convert to the LDS church, and one of the things that attracted me to the church all those years ago was knowing that Mormons (the Osmonds for example) don't drink, smoke, use drugs, or even coffee or tea. I was raised Episcopalian and thought you had to at least drink booze, that it's just what you did. But it didn't seem right. So I investigated the LDS church, and the more I learned, the more I knew I had to join. My husband isn't LDS and he doesn't drink, either.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed." Gal 1:6-8.
martinh103 9 months ago
Many so-called 'christians' who like to be pharisees and claim that drinking any alcohol is a sin. They also like to claim the grape juice thing about the Wine that Jesus drank. The Bible truth shows that Jesus drank alcohol, even the people who drank that wine identified it as Good wine, like the wine that those would GET DRUNK WITH and then bring out the cheap drink.
buzzbbird 9 months ago
@buzzbbird Yeah, we know that people could get drunk drinking wine back then. That still doesn't make it right to drink it today. Even without The Word of Wisdom, it's just common sense that people shouldn't use alcohol! A grown adult should be WELL PAST the age where they want to use a mind-altering drug to enjoy life, relax and unwind, etc. I have absolutely no desire to use this drug. I had stopped even before I became a Mormon.

@jeanniem76 Holy freakin Jesus man! How do you leave one church and join another!?!? You're an addict! You ate addicted to religion! Get help!
IceCreamRueckert 10 months ago
It says in the History of the Church that he and others drank wine and smoked cigars. He had the guards send for them while he was in jail. I actually have copies of it. The sad thing is, they are afraid to test all things. I grew up LDS, you are constantly being reminded NOT to seek anything outside of LDS. As far as this guy's gym comment...that's incredibly worldly...who cares! Jesus is all that matters!
jeanniem76 11 months ago
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:2-4

If Jesus was so against alcohol then why did he drink wine at the Last Supper? Mormons don't know their ass from their elbow!!!
mjg032 11 months ago
@mjg032
The wine we know today is a lot stronger than the wine back then. We would considered it a form of juice more than a wine.
71cKwl 11 months ago
@71cKwl Whether it is or isn't Jesus never spoke out against. it. There were no specifics. Wine is the Blood of Christ. Not Caprisun. That was more from Joseph Smith's delusions than anything based in reality, and that's the truth of the matter.
mjg032 11 months ago
@71cKwl This is a CLASSIC Mormon answer, haahahahahaha! I lost count on how many times my Mormon friends tell me this. So tell me this- so what matters is the percentage of the alcohol in the wine? Because though you may be correct on whether or not the wine back then was not as strong, people still got DRUNK off of them!! Does that mean that Mormons should be willing to drink watered down wine? Come on! The argument that the wine then is like today's form of juice is just bogus. Wine is wine.
aDividedHeart 11 months ago
@aDividedHeart
I'm not a mormon.
Definitions change all of the time. Gay no longer means what it meant 50 years ago.
The definition of wine has changed as well. Thus, back to my original post.
71cKwl 11 months ago
@71cKwl And where do you get this information? Is it factual?
jeanniem76 11 months ago
@mjg032 In many cases the water was unsafe to drink back then. What matters is today, though. We now know that alcohol is a toxin. It poisons cells. Even in low doses, alcohol significantly increases the risk of breast cancer in women, along with liver and rectum cancer. But even if it were healthy, just the fact that it's a mind-altering drug makes it wrong. You wouldn't smoke pot, would you? Yet grown adults think nothing of using a psychoactive drug in the form of alcohol.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@cindybin2001 Umm, he's Jesus Christ. He, if anybody should know the effects of alcohol. He wouldn't of served it if it were. Who cares what people say "today"? I've known plenty of women who drink and never had breast cancer, and known who have who never touched the stuff. If that's the case we shouldn't drink coffee or have sugar. Although I can't stand pot it's hardly the worse thing out there. There's even medical use for it too. Think of it that way.
mjg032 9 months ago
@mjg032 Oh for Pete's sake. Why can't people just accept the fact that we shouldn't use alcohol? The Word of Wisdom is to HELP us! That's one of the things that attracted me to the Church years ago, was knowing that Mormons don't use these substances. And of course not EVERY woman who drinks is going to get breast cancer. But it does increase the risk. Anyway, the Word of Wisdom is to help us. And we shouldn't drinkn. We as grown adults should know better than to use mind-altering drugs.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@mjg032 Yes, you are right, I am wrong. We should all use alcohol. I am dropping out of the Mormon church thanks to your comment. I can hardly wait to go to the liquor store. It's something I've always wanted to do but have been denying myself all these years I've been trapped in this stupid church. Thank goodness I am free at last!! Booze here I come!!! And I also plan to get some marijuana while I'm at it.
cindybin2001 8 months ago
@cindybin2001 Cindy, you are forgetting something!! you are not getting closer to God by not drinking etc, but by this (Brigham Young) From the day that the priesthood was take from the earth to the winding up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith Junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are, I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent. Journal of Discourses 7:289. so what happened to Jesus?
Chinaculiacan 8 months ago
@cindybin2001 Cindy, you need to stop your holier-than-thou attitude. That "water was unsafe" business is propaganda to deflect from the truth that Jesus drank wine! Why does it scare you SO much?
Joseph Smith drank wine in the 1800s. I guess you'll say his water was unsafe to drink too. You should lighten up and pour yourself a glass of wine. LOL
Nepthu 9 months ago
@Nepthu Here we go again with people calling me "holier-than-thou" because I say we shouldn't use alcohol. I am so sick of that! People have told me that online for YEARS. Believe me, the more people tell me that, the more determined I am to speak up against alcohol and marijuana. Anyway, The Word of Wisdom is to HELP us. It's a GOOD thing. That's one of the things that attracted me to the LDS church years ago was knowing that it's members did not use alcohol, etc.
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@cindybin2001 I'm afraid your critical thinking skills aren't that good so let me explain this:
The reason people tell you that you are "holier-than-thou" is because your opinion against wine is ignorant. Jesus said to DRINK WINE at the sacrament. PERIOD. THE END! Get it?
Christians go by the Bible, they don't go by your online opinion.
You are ignorant to the fact that Joseph Smith drank WINE after he gave the Word of Wisdom!
Nepthu 9 months ago
@Nepthu Yes, I know Jesus said to drink wine. That's what many drank back then. But it doesn't mean we should drink it now. We were given The Word of Wisdom in the early days of the Church to HELP us. That's a good thing. I don't know about Joseph Smith drinking wine--if he did, just remember it was the early days of the church. Things are different now. We don't know exactly what happened back then for sure as to this. In any case, we should be thankful for the Word of Wisdom!
cindybin2001 9 months ago
@Nepthu I can't believe your attitude! Here a church has this good thing called The Word of Wisdom which helps us physically and spiritually, and you put it down, try to disprove it, try to stand up for using alcohol. That is terrible. You shouldn't even have to be LDS or religous to know not to use alcohol! It's a toxin! And a mind-altering drug! That alone makes it wrong! You wouldn't smoke pot, would you? Heck no. Yet grown adults think nothing of using a psychoactive drug like booze.
cindybin2001 8 months ago
@Nepthu One of the things that ATTRACTED me to the LDS church all those years ago was knowing Mormons don't use alcohol! I always thought you HAD to drink, to be cool and a "grownup". But I knew this wasn't right. I investigated the LDS church and the more I learned, the more I realized I had to join. As for Joseph Smith, we don't know for sure what happened then, also the church was young, etc. Also wine was different. In any case, we shouldn't drink it TODAY. You should agree with me on that!
cindybin2001 8 months ago
@Nepthu Yes, you are right and I am wrong. I am totally holier-than-thou and Joseph Smith drank wine and that makes him a false prophet, and that means it is okay to drink wine. So I'm going to drop out of this wacky cult immediately and go to the nearest bar. I can hardly wait. Thank you so much to all the anti-Mormon people out there who have helped me see the light.
cindybin2001 8 months ago
@cindybin2001 Run Cindy!! Run. LOL, Cindy Stop!! you can't go to heaven and be With Christ and God! You need to have a passport, and a certificate to be in heaven!! Run Cindy run!! Hahahahahaha!! Because you can't go there without Joseph consenct!! Hahahaha.. LOL again, Run Cindy and ask Joseph, Don't go to the liquor store.
Chinaculiacan 8 months ago
@Chinaculiacan Joseph Smith won't give Cindy his consent if he sees her holding a Margarita. Maybe that's why she's so upset about it.
Nepthu 8 months ago
@Nepthu Riiiight? :) :) :)..

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Christian church. We believe the Bible to be the word of God and live by it. We don't believe that only members go to Heaven. We believe all good people will go to Heaven : ) Go to lds.org or mormon.org to start discover the truth : )
liberty4all4life 1 year ago
@liberty4all4life thats the problem, believing that all good people will go to heaven. the bible says that no one can come to the father except through Jesus because thats what he died for. If people can get to heaven without jesus than what was the point of his death then? Jesus also said that many whothink theyll go to heaven wont.
shvibzik123 1 year ago
