  • Ben Walker kinda reminds me of Nathan Fillion. :3

  • personally, i loved it. but it's a very, very specific type of humor and music that only a few people seem to really "get". enough people that they got to broadway. so stop bitching and just have fun or at least let us have fun.

  • @C815richard no, they didn't perform as a band...lots of broadway shows go on late night to help promote the show and sell tickets; in the show some of the ensemble plays in the band so that's why it looks like they were just playing as a band, but this is a major song in the musical.. To each his own on whether or not you like it...but as far as him grinding on the girl- the song is called "Rock Star" so it was pretty appropriate, and you'll understand if you ever do see the rest of the show.

  • As prez, Andrew Jackson took on the "Fed Reserve" of that time aka the 2nd National Bank. He took on the "Ben Bernanke" of that time aka Nicholas Biddle. Unlike any prez from our generation, he defeated the banking cartel! He defeated the establishment instead of shaking hands w/ them and giving them bailouts. He fought for the people not the establishment.

He abolished the "Fed Reserve" and defeated "Ben Bernanke". We need that today!

  • During the war of 1812, the British kept attacking, bitter from their earlier defeat in the Revolutionary War. Andrew Jackson destroyed them in his valiant efforts in the south, especially New Orleans. Sad to see such ignorant criticism toward one of the best democratic presidents we ever had.

  • @purplefetus3 its criticism because the war was technically over when he rocked new orleans shit. the british signed a treaty, but he wasnt informed because it happened a day before and they didnt have phones back then. thats why he is criticized, because he just didnt wait

  • @oldbeanieboy876 He's criticized because he didn't wait? Wait for what?...to be killed? The Brits stormed his camp and put up a full fledged attack! He only defended.

I guess he should have waited and died at the hands of the Brits while waiting in the process. Yup, makes sense.

  • @purplefetus3 they werent attacking, they were actually just talkin shit.... the brits didnt attack, but jackson was just like "lets fuck them up!" and then that happened

but whoevers right, we can agree on one thing: he was a fucking badass

  • @oldbeanieboy876 lol, we can definitely agree on that!

I think Jackson was talking smack to the Brits and pissed them off. The Brits DID in fact attack. Jackson (outmanned and outgunned) set up defensive positions for the likely, soon-to-come, British offensive. Jackson never attacked. Hopefully, we can also agree that armed British military had no place on American soil. They should have never been there to begin with and they got what they deserved.

    Cheers!

    And Happy New Year!

  • @purplefetus3 hahaha happy new year to you too!

  • Interesting satire against Andrew Jackson who had fought off the Native American attacks. The British from their port in FL purposely armed the Native Americans and used them to attack the newly free colonists. Andrew Jackson fought them off and destroyed the British FL port eventually leading to the Union's acquisition of FL. This guy was a great American hero.

  • The show asks (literally) if Andrew Jackson was the American Hitler, so it is pretty hard to overlook the real message. But evidently not impossible.

  • I'm perplexed by these comments. I saw (and loved the show) and there is no doubt about what the creators' intent is. The final tableau pretty much indicts Jackson of the genocide and provides much food for thought about his so-called legacy. I went home and Wiki'd Andrew Jackson immediately, a president we had not really ever thought about. I don't think anyone, except the least sophisticated of theatergoers, actually leaves thinking that "Andrew Jackson had the right idea to kill them."

  • @chrisacts "a president we had not really ever thought about. " Seriously? I'm 24 and he's been my favorite President since age 13! I'm not saying he was a good man through and through, he's just the most interesting and badass to me. ;)

  • Wow, I can't believe those Indians. Man Andrew Jackson had the right idea to kill them (just joking!) Isn't that funny?

  • Ben Walker rocks my world!!
