@dante773 because it's an autopsy. an autopsy is an examination of the entire body after it's dead. to either determine cause of death. there could have been multiple reasons to her cause of death. they can't just check one part, that wouldn't be autopsy. also in order to learn about the body they need to look through all of it. they think it was a drug overdose but it could have been something else. therefore they check through everything so they can rule everything out but the drugs.

The stigma, the anxiety about death is a result from lack of education. We pass roadkills, see Nature documentaries that are, by all accounbts, gory. This is tame. In a potential suicide, murder or overdose or any other ambiguous death they definitely have to perform one. But the medical examiner's office is used to working with families of different religions or sensibilities.

For those complaining about organ donation, there is strict criteria for this. You don't just haul an organ out of a dead person and transplant it. If you die of a disease, cancer, etc your are not able to donate. The usual organ donor is someone declared brain dead. They are on a ventilator, taken to surgery and organs are harvested. Anyone dead for any length of time, the organs aren't viable because they too are dead.
funny they say there an organ shortage and you usually have to wait a few years for a heart or liver transplant yet they go around doing stuff like this

It is absolutely disgusting how a persons body (especially a young woman) can be treated like meat in death. Autopsy should be illegal if consent is not given by the family. That is usually the case unless a person was murdered or died a suspicious death. But even then it should be up to the family. These doctors deserve to burn in hell for this.x

For those complaining about organ donation, there is strict criteria for this. You don't just haul an organ out of a dead person and transplant it. If you die of a disease, cancer, etc your are not able to donate. The usual organ donor is someone declared brain dead. They are on a ventilator, taken to surgery and organs are harvested. Anyone dead for any length of time, the organs aren't viable because they too are dead.
