  • I do about half and half, with snow/mud and fast riding around the yard. I heard the Interco Reptiles are pretty light and well riding tire, while still being a good mud tire. Do you think this is true? and are their any better tires you might recomend? Thank you! They'll be going on a Yamaha Grizzly 550.

  • @cbk982 We've never tried the Reptiles.....Check out our latest videos on our big all-season tire test to get some ideas....Go to our website for the list of all the videos.

  • How are the Maxxis Zillas (not the mudzillas)?

  • @bendover646 We don't have any experience with them..But the more aggressive the tread and the greater the spacing between the lugs, the faster they will wear on the asphalt. Plus they will handle way worse on asphalt and hardpack trails.

  • I have just recently moved to a new area that has some nice riding trails but to get to the trails the people here ride on the pavement. That is very hard on the tires can you recomend a tire that will last?

  • @mrstevek118 Pavement is really hard on tires no matter what but especially if your ATV is always in 4wd. Higher pressure helps. A less aggressive tread also helps. Although we (and here comes all the hate mail!) think that Maxxis Bighorns are not a very good performing tire, they do wear very well.

  • If the diff slips more with aggressive tires could u put aggressive tires on the rear and like regular tires in the front or is the a tire the is aggressive enough to handle just about anything

  • @Derek130b Considering that there is no allowable slippage between the front and rear differentials putting considerably different tires on each end may indeed bind up the drivetrain over time.

  • i have a honda trx 450er and the tires are starting to wear and im going to need new ones soon if you have any ideas i would like to hear them i do most of my riding on dirt trails on the track. i also ride in the sand/cinders with a rear paddle tires.

  • @killerkrab42 We used to run ITP Holeshots on our desert machines because they held up so well.

  • @ATVTVCOM ok thanks ill give em a try

  • I have a Honda 700xx Just want to know what tire will last. The rear stock dunlop tires wore out in 5 rides, ITP XCT lasted about 10 rides, STI dirt trax have been out on 2 rides and almost gone. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

  • @spartacus1234567890 Wow! You're hard on tires. Or you ride in really tough terrain. The XCTs should be one of the best. We raced them in the desert and they worked great! Only suggestion I have is to swap them from side to side each ride to get better wear - and better traction.

  • Terracross tires have been the best of my own experiences

  • I have a Yamaha Grizzly 350IRS so i need a tire that would not rob too much power. I will be riding almost 100% rocks and trails in central texas what tire would you recommend preferably a 6ply like a big horn 2.0 or terracross? maybe bajacross what would you recommend

  • @bballplaya123678 You definitely need a radial. And be sure to stay the same diameter. Preferably mount them on your stock wheels. TerraCross would be my first choice. Or maybe an ACT HD.

  • I have a kawsaki Bayou 250 and im lukin for sum mud tires that are good in mud buts also on pavement. Also a little wider than stock

  • @Amputator12 Try Carlisle Trail Wolf or if you can find them in the right size, ITP Holeshot ATRs.

  • @ATVTVCOM

    Thanks very much

  • What do you recommend for a larger machine? I have a Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI EPS. I want to replaced the stock tires with something a bit wider, with more traction. I tend to slide around alot. I ride over a good mix of everything. Dirt, rocks, mud, water.. Sometimes after a nice challenging trail I like to open it up to about 35-40 mph, fishtail around corners, etc. Any suggestions? Something looks cool, rides cool, and of course does the job.

  • @GCLaredo207 Our favorites are the Carlisle ACTs.

  • @ATVTVCOM Thanks for the reply. May I ask for one more bit of advice? What are your thoughts on the Teracross tires? I am going with either the Teracross or the Carlisle ACT's.

  • @GCLaredo207 I have run both on the project Griz we had. Both worked really well. Honestly I don't think you'll be sorry with either one. In the right size they may be better than the ACTs - we had 14s and I don't like 14" wheels on ATVs.

  • @GCLaredo207 i had a set of baja bear claws on my grizz and i never had a problem they were also very cloe to being cactus needle resistant but of course with stock wheels

  • would a 26" 589 be any heavier than a 26" swamp lite

  • @beastgrizz Not sure. You'd have to look up the specs on each at the manufacturer's websites.

  • OK,so all-in-all,it's better to stay with an atv's stock tires;or something near, in size and weight.

Where I ride, the trails are covered with sharp rocks.I was considering a 6 ply tire for the puncture resistance. My KVF360 4x4 has Maxxis AT's 2 plys.So far so good ,with no flats.I don't want to rob my machine's power,so I think I'll stay with the Maxxis.

Do you have recommendations for replacement tires that are near to stock size and weight?

  • @JBodine67 Well, you got it right - especially on a smaller cc machine. Be sure to keep the same size or at least close. Remember, just because a tires says it's a 25 doesn't mean it measures 25". Some are the exact size, but most are smaller. Check the weight as well. All ATvs respond incredibly to radial tires - some more than others. The P360 is one that will really do well. I suggest a set of Carlisle ACTs.

  • @ATVTVCOM thank you for the info....Your channel has the most useful ATV info.

  • what tires are best for a honda 350 atv for mud

  • @TheDARJAMRAN On an ATV that size the first thing I'd do is make sure to keep the stock size so you don't lose too much power. I'd also try to keep from getting too aggressive of tread for the same reason. Maybe ACTs would be a pretty good choice. So would 489s.

  • mudlites suck they dig up the trail and so the other atv riders get stuck in deep ruts

  • what would a stock grizzly 350irs tire weigh front and rear i have checked the maxxis website and tire and havnt been able to find it please help i am looking to find a tire for texas rock riding so that i wont loose much power

  • @bballplaya123678 All stock wheels and tires are very close to the same. The only noticeable difference is if the wheel is aluminum.

  • @bdkxkid Okay, although heavier tires and wheels still affect the performance of the ATV in every way we describe in this video.

  • @TheDARJAMRAN How long is a piece of string? The tires that can go on an 11" rim are what's available! Do they all work right? NO!

  • @ATVTVCOM Thanks so much for making these videos! They're really helping me decide what to do with my quad especially since its my very first one! Keep making these tech videos!

  • i just got some back tires and i went with the dunlop

  • I always enjoy your videos. I have a 2010 Polaris RZR LE and was wondering what u would suggest for a good trail tire. I don't encounter or do much mudding but I do travel a couple miles of pavement.

  • @SydeKiK1962 There are several I like, the Terra Croos, the ACT, and the MT/R. IN your case you might also look at the ITP ATR. It might be the best all-around tire there is....

  • you the guy talking in all these vids?

  • @TheHondaAbuser Yeap....

  • what sizes of tire can go on a 11 intch rim
