  • james bond

  • @ansesh , Yup,, ref to " Little Nelly "

  • what is that? a plane helicoptor?

  • thats pretty gangster

  • R O F L COPTER

  • thats not a car it an air boat

  • pussy

  • its an "autogryo"

  • So??

  • too true Dragon just look at the Jet engine, Television, Telephone ,

  • oooo, it's a gyrocopter...yank.

What is new or exciting about this?

  • @razorflown2 It has vertical take off capability.

Why don't you go and do something new and exciting like jumping off a bridge with no parachute?

  • I don't care if it's got an onboard crapper. It's a friggin gyrocopter.

and I have jumped off a bridge with no parachute.

  • what's wrong with it being a gyrocopter?

  • @bsg1206 Absolutely nothing. Except people are making a big deal out of it and calling it a revolutionary machine. I have nothing against gyrocopters. But you don't build a gyrocopter, then call it something else and claim that it will revolutionize avaition without catching some flak.

Call it a gyrocopter and lets move on with our lives.

  • @razorflown2 It's not 'just a gyrocopter'. It has the abiliy to unload the rotor disk at speed decreasing the rotor drag dramatically. The means the potential for much higher top speed than a helicopter or gyro

  • @jobeone Ya, I'm totally convinced! Big rotor for lift, little rotor forward movement. Sooo not a gyrocopter lol. Looks like a duck, walks like a duck.... You're just bringing up minor technicalities. I guess next you'll be telling me that Tesla motors doesn't build cars, they make electric vehicles! lol

  • @razorflown2 A technology such as could provide as solution to the same mission profile that say the Osprey V22 is designed for, with the added ability to autorotate. If you want to just compare an aircraft based on what it 'looks like' to you then go right ahead. Your arrogant assertions about what this craft is doesn't impress me in the slightest.

  • @jobeone My "arrogant assertions" ? Here let me hold your hand. Google 'cartercopter'. Click 'im feeling lucky'. Click 'Frequently Asked Questions'.

Read. They know it's an autogyro...why don't you?

    wiki: CarterCopter

  • @razorflown2 , You are stupid aren't you. Yes, it is a gyrocopter. But it also has features and capabilities that no other current gyro or helicopter has. Hence my first comment. 'Not just a gyrocopter'.

  • @jobeone Ok, I see this where you said "not just a gyrocopter". My mistake. I got too caught up in arguing with the ppl that are saying it's not even an autogyro.

I don't know where you stand on the whole argument. It's an autogyro though.

  • super

  • What about the amount of noise produced by this aircraft? It must be greater than the one of a simple helicopter.

  • all done by the brits in 1957 by fairey but the brit govt put the axe on it "cost cutting" there is a vid on here just type in fairey, as usual some bloke comes up with a great idea and it takes a different country to have the balls to put the money in and follow it through

  • They should make some roflcopters.

  • Comment removed

  • if you log on to Groen Bros aviation website you could see an ordinary fixed wing(high wing) aircraft retrofited into a gyroplane, they say they could even turn the C-130 or any high wing aircraft into a gyroplane with no difficulty...

  • The wings create the required lift at higher speeds. You can flatten your rotor disk as it really isn't needed until you slow. Autorotation creates a tremendous amount of drag in order to maintain rotor rpm. Pretty cool little auto...plane...um...heli....er....thing.

  • more capability...lacking in artistic design

  • Carter Copter is an next evolutionary step from the autogyro and helicopter. It has wings to cruise faster and more efficiently than helicopters. What is remarkable is that this machine broke a particular barrier when it comes to rotary aircraft by reaching μ-1 (Mu-1).

This craft is not a replacement for helicopters, but an alternate with alternate capabilities.

  • What is Mu-1?

  • tell us what Mu-1 is

  • Mu-1 is the barrier that keeps helicopters at low speeds. Cartercopter is based on autogyro tech and plane. They lower the main rotor speed when crusing so wings take up lift and rotor keeps stable allowing the craft to go faster than helicopters and with greater range.

  • Y DOES IT HAVE WINGS WHEN ROTORS DO ALL THE LIFTING its juse more weight

  • so you have control of it...

  • i wouldnt get in it.

  • what the fuck is this???!

  • a big-ass gyrocopter

  • a big grasshopper

  • menuda gilipollez, un autogiro pero feo

  • Me parece una idea idiota, ese dinero se podria haber usado en algo mas interesante.

  • shitty music

  • just a gyro

  • Juan de la Cerva invento el autogiro. Una tecnologia olvidada, casi, debido al helicoptero. Los ingenieros de Carter van a lograr resucitar este vehiculo y traerlo al ciglo 21.

  • клева :)

  • Lol ! Cute !
