  • Aren't all the nutrients from quinoa destroyed once you put them under boiling water? I really need a scientific explanation to this. Some people say all vegetables are dead once you cook them. Please a specialist reply to this. Great video!

  • @nicolasibarra84 Some nutrients are easily damaged by heat such as enzymes & vitamin C. But not all nutrients are lost. When you boil vegetables, and then remove them from the water to eat, you would lose many of the nutrients in the water. However, if you were to make a soup, you would be eating the liquid containing those nutrients. When cooking a grain such as quinoa, the nutrients in the water would be re-absorbed by the quinoa as it cooks. Hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed the video!

  • @AvivaAllenRHN thanks for replying! Very much appreciated! Keep making these great videos! :-)

  • That's the same strainer I have. The annoying thing about that strainer is that the quinoa gets stuck in the lip where the wire and plastic meet. Because of this, I don't bother to rinse my quinoa anymore. The quinoa taste just as delicious without the rinse.
