...I cant wear tight fitting dresses because the dent makes my left side look uneven. its hard to explain but it makes me very insecure. I hate the fact that I may be stuck with this for the rest of my life. Last April I had pneumonia and at the doctors they gave me a chortisone shot in my lower left back side. In July I started to notice a small dent but I didn't really think anything of it. The longer its been its been getting worse, its deeper and discolored. The doctors said that i can get surgery but it will probably just come back and that i should just wait because in about a year the fat will grow back. I know it hasnt been a year but its been getting worse.

Its been a while since you posted this video but you should tell your wife to get normal saline injected into the site. Google the treatment and you will find a new journal scholar article printed in Dermatologic Surgery and it worked wonders on those patients. 4-8 weeks and it was gone.

I have this on both cheecks. I have an attorney but I am still in fear that my voice wont be heard because it has so far been treated as if it is not a big deal. PLEASE tell me what your wife did. I have seen dermatologists, doctors, plastic surgeons, i even went to the emergency room. It reeeeeeeeeeeally bothers me and I too dont know if I should have them fixed with plastic surgery because of the incision scars. Please help

About a year ago I had a kenalog injection for the very same reasons. And about a month later had a dent exactly the same kind your wife has. I have pictures of my dent that could be identical to hers. I went to my doctor, and showed her what had happened, she was shocked, said she had never seen anything like it before. I did not want to do anything she suggested, and honestly exactly 1 year later the dent was gone without intervention. hopefully the same will be for your wife.

Hi, I wanted to give you guys some hope. I had the exact thing happen to me years ago. At first, I had no idea what it was but with some research I was able to figure out what was happening to me and I approached my Dr. with this information. I threatened to sue him. He referred me to a plastic surgeon. They took fat from my thigh and filled the dent. My body didn't reject the fat and today you can't tell I ever had that dent. Let me know if you guys need more info.=)

I also had a reaction to the Kenalog injection, but its the opposite to what most people are complaining of, the area is swollen outward, causing a large lump. I've looked all over the internet and i've never heard of this happening. I've also gone back to my doctor and he's taking the whole 'wait and see' attitude. Anyway I'm hoping someone here will know anything about this? Sorry about the long ramble, thanks!

A dr. gave me 5 cortisone shots at once in my muscles around the scapula and now I have a huge dent on my scapula, a lot larger than the one in this video. He never mentioned this as a possible side effect. I am so upset and do not know what to do.

i received a corticosteroid injection above my eyebrows (supraorbital nerve block) for treatment of my migraines. i now have 2 dents above my right eyebrow and one dent above my left eyebrow! i looks like it's getting worse too! it has disfigured my face! i dont know what to do. i've read online that saline injections can help speed the filling in of the dents. i dont know what doctor to get to do this though

I had the same thing happen to me! I am working with a lawyer right now to get this issue resolved. I have a LARGE indention, all as a result of the doctor administering the steroid to me for a sore throat (little did I know it was a steroid). He said, "something to make me feel better fast...an antibiotic). 6 months later, a large indentation appeared on my bikini line, where my butt meets my back. Anyone else doing anything about this? Can anyone tell me what action is being taken? I have been dealing with this since Feb 2011 and can't get any doctor to help. They have all said that they have never seen this before.

Is there a class action suit to join or anyone have a lawyer that I can call? I am in Louisiana and have the same exact hole or dent in my right buttock.

I am furious over this.

That happened to me as well. I had a "dent" too. The condition was temporary and in my case, resolved over several months. This is a common local reaction to a steroid injection. It occurs in a small percentage of patients. Did the drug help with her allergies?

Its not just the dents in your butt that cause problems. You can actually loose your hip joints - Necrosis of the femoral heads. But still, doctors give kenalog shots coz its quick and effective. I had them for 5-6 years, then in 2006, I got sublingual immunotherapy...and now I'm desensitised. If only I'd known about this when I was a teenager...I might have got better exams results rather than cover all my test papers in snot!

I've been getting injections of kenalog40 in my rump for 6 yrs now for severe allergies...same location every year and don't have any kind of indention. Odd how it seems to effect some, but most dont have it. I will be heartbroken if they were to take it off the market, as it has given me back my life that was literally miserable as a result of my allergies.

This injection gave me a dent too, aswell as dizzy spells, headaches and anxiety.

Dr denyed that it was the injection that caused it, symptoms went away after 8months, then suddenly reappeared after another injection. funny that

I received a kenalog injection in June 2010 for horrible allergies that no OTC meds were helping with. Along with not helping at all with my allergies I noticed a dent appear around October 2010. It's not as bad as the one shown in this video but it's bad enough for me and has not gotten better. When I got the injection the doctor never told me that was a S/E. I am a nurse and I knew what common S/E's were associated with steriods but had I known this would happen I would NOT have received it.

I received an injection in October of 2010, noticed a couple of months ago that I had a large "dimple"....."dent" on my hip. I have had injections twice yearly for the last several years and this is the first time I have had a reaction like this. I think that injection last year will be my last. I will just take extra OTC meds. Very unhappy with this outcome.

I go 2 shot of steroid shot's on my side right side of my nose and after 1 month i started to have a dent that created a small hole and now I see a white discoloration.

Is this permanent or will my skin heal and rise up to fill in the hole. I feel so depressed.  Anyone know if it will get better if so how long?? Can we all file a lawsuit on this steroid shot it's damaging people's lives.

I get these shots about once a year and i am 100% impressed with Kenalog because i have Severely Bad Allergies and it kills in like 2 days, i wonder when this stuff came out anyone know?

I also got a large dimple from the shot. Mine also has a line running from the dimple towards the middle of my back, it is soar to touch and bruises very easily. DO NOT get this shot. It does not work well enough to live with the dimpling.

The same thing happened to my sister. She has two huge dents in her butt that started out small and are now large. She was not warned about this side effect. To add insult to injury, the injections didn't help all that much anyway.

I am have the same HUGE dent on my right upper cheek.  I noticed it about 3 months ago and now it about a small lemon size. It hurts me, I can obviously tell there is something wrong. Unfortunately, I received a Kenalog shot in my forehead to relieve an inflamed nerve. I was pregnant so it was the only solution that was acceptable at the time. It's been six months and what was just redness has turned into a crater on my forehead. It looks like a was in a car accident and cracked my skull open. It's getting worse and I get more and more comments everyday. So much for my self esteem. I hate it.

Yep, the exact thing has happened to me except I have it on both butt cheeks. It has been distressing to say the least. No warning, nothing. These doctors and nurses seem to be getting away with this and it is a wide spread problem. Unfortunately, this will happen to others but this video is an excellent warning to people.
