  • sure, if doing this do be an asshole, then he'd deserve the same. but, if you read/watch, he's doing it to feed his fam -- no diff than you fruits at KFC getting the kill w/o the guilt. again, i couldn't be more "bleeding heart" than the majority, but i understand the utility of doing it yourself. people wholeheartedly rebuffing just need to take a step back. as a medical practitioner (and, no, not a nurse) i can guarantee a vegetarian diet cannot satisfactorily sustain life. good hunting!!

  • You need a sharper knife, so that you can kill the chicken with one cut without hurting it. A German study showed that this is the most humane way to kill any animal, as there is an immediate fall in blood pressure to the brain leading to immediate unconsciousness. You only want to cut the jugular veins and wind pipe, and not sever the whole head, that way the heart will keep on pumping the blood out of the muscles which will make for a much healthier and more tender meat.

  • nice knife safety at 1:28 bout knifed your ol lady there

  • I like how you almost stabbed your friend in the face a couple times.

  • Wrong...

  • Hillbilly, u don't cut the head off completly in the beginning

  • "this guys waiting his turn"

i couldnt have said it better

  • Did this guy just put the knife through his girlfriend's camera? He did, didn't he?

    +

  • You look like a friend of mine.

Except he has a bit more beard.

  • Can you skin duck and turkey in the same fashion?

  • Ok dude, it's time you learn how to be humane, humane isn't "Lets sit here with a dull knife and break this chickens head off" . . . Sharpen those knives and cut the head off with one quick slice!!! And yes, I have butchered chickens, not one of them had to suffer a knife going through their neck for even a second, literally a blink of an and the head was off, not 3 seconds almost 4 of a dull knife hacking through their neck...

  • @JaneAndDracoAndTheo I so agree! I prefer videos were people don't spit in the plate that feeds them! Sorry, Dude! I didn't like you calling the chickens bastards!

  • @lamoabird These guys are obviously just trying to feel macho, you know, it's just soooooooo tough to tie an animal that is 1/20 of your size upside down, an animal that would never defend itself and would be incapable of doing so, and then rip its head off with a butter knife... On top of that, he did not even cut (or like I said before, rip) in the right place, you're supposed to cut right below the beak, not in the middle of its neck. Then he nearly stabs his friend...

  • Shitty Knife

Retarded redneck (seems to enjoy killing, how demented!)

    Sucks at skinning

  • this is a horrible video...

  • yeha u should learn to keep a sharper knife its much safer to work with. i have nails on my hands sharper than that.

  • could you cut the head any slower sharpin that knife dude!

  • Should be called skinning, not butchering, good video, reminds me of rabbits. To ilikealicia, no reason to age the bird, there is so little meat. Now with a bigger bird you may want to hang it but it's all about size and even with a large bird, you are talking about a few days max. So how you store the bird will be more important than if it is hung.

  • @909Leon its only part one of three videos. the meat prep and all that is in the other two videos.

  • would you ever age your chicken after you kill it? like how butchers age lamb, pork and beef?

  • @ilikealicia i dont but some people may. im nervous about chicken and disease.

  • Very educational videos. Should be very helpful when I'll butcher my first chickens later this week. Thanks!

  • how do they move without a head?

  • @bradito676 Nerves.

  • @bradito676 Muscle reaction

  • Very educational, thanks

  • I dont think that he was waiting his Turn LOL " He was Thinking How the Hell Can I Peck Through this Cage in time enough to Get out & Fly away BEFORE it's MY Turn >:) J/K Nice Vid

  • Stupid question--> What kind of knife do you use? Also, yours does appear a bit dull, but I'm sure you know that ;)

Also, how long do they wiggle around? How long before you can skin them then? And is there any way to minimize the feather mess?

    Informative video, thanks

  • @babyhorsey6 i use any knife i have around really, kitchen knife or gut knife. anything should work.. they wiggle for a couple minutes maximum. as for the feathers, thats why we skin instead of pulling feathers. we use the meat for soups and stews and dont really get around to frying much you see.

  • Do you find skinning it is faster than boiling/plucking? I like the skin myself but not if there are pin feathers left.

  • @whisperkodiak it is way faster and cleaner than plucking. we dont fry much so we just skin the basterds.

  • Sharpen your knife!

  • lol kwl

  • Your knife don't look very sharp.

  • thanks man this vid is awesome

  • Why would you want to skin it?? Chicken skin is one of the BEST parts!

  • @spazchicken1 plucking sucks!! make you a big pot of stew and leave the skin on, then you tell me why i skin the basterds.

  • @melvinseatsoup well, if you put it that way..no, I don't think skin in a stew would taste very good as I'd imagine it would be a little jelly-ish.

  • man i love rednecks, nice video going to go butcher my chicken now.
