I for one would like to thank you for your demonstrations and for your precised, detailed teachings! I can't speak for others but I personally need an instructor that can do this! Again..Thank you!
Your videos have helped me to understand the techniques which have attracted me to Aikido with much more clarity. As well as humbled my rowdy friends and misdirected short term acquaintances that I have on occasion run into. This is a great resource to someone like me that believe in the philosophy of this art but are held back from participating fully due to arthritic knees. There is no substitute for proper training. But, these videos are quite a resource.
I've experienced many instructors over the past 35+ years of teaching and practicing the martial arts from Aikido through kickboxing to TKD. You are a gifted and talented practitioner and skilled instructor. Thanks for your videos!
I really like your way of demonstrating how it is done, and also watching to solve it by pausing and playing one after another. Thanks anyway, you are great.

I was not talking about ai hanmi and gyaku hanmi just hanmi position ,the triangulaire aikido position of the feet you do not seem to do and also the way your strike allong the side of your head the do that in Katori Shinto Ryu because its an old martial art and in the old days the had helmits which not allowed a strike from above the head Aikido is center and something else: you do not have time to rise your sword up to meet the other one his sword ,when he is halway down stricking
Strange exercise with the swords. You have to be really retarded to attack with a shomenuchi when standing like that. Just a simple tsuki from you opponent and your face is gone.... Fist the uke should create an opening, so that the attacker can attack
some comments:first of all this technique and most of the techniques in Aikido should be done in the Aï Hammi position what your doing is something completely different , at the moment and even before your bokken meets your partners bokken your exposing your complete body and when you strike your bokken is completely at the side of your head ,in Aikido it always stays in the center even when you apply a yokomen THIS IS NOT AIKIDO!!!!!!!!!
@gunther937 Have you NEVER hears of gyaku hamni? Gyaku hanmi is where uke and nage stand with opposite forward legs, so it looks like they are mirroring each other. Every techniques can be done in either hanmi, if you know how to do it.
I am glad you showed this,I was beginning to wonder if I am the only person that receives attacks double boned(ulna and radial)before blending with the energy, most schools dont get that technical (although Isshin Ryu also teaches double boned blocks)If I mis-timed my Te Sabaki I would always get slammed on my arms by the giants in my class, good point and very important!
@jeffnicholas16 I like this guy.Even though I don't see the more "live" applications that allow for more obvious true high performance vs a fully resistant opponent who's really trying to grab and strike you,he teaches it well enough for the performance oriented alterations to be made and then applied immediately via more "alive" drills which will make these techniques more obviously functional.
you have amental block inside the brain telling your body not to release full potential of strength and yelling opens part of the block to release a minor *burst* of strength
Hmmm. I do reply. I just don't have the time to search YouTube for all of the videos of mine that Expert Village posted. I do my best with the limited time I have. I have 2 small children, a full time job and I teach 3 nights a week. I do care what people think but I understand that I'll never please everyone. My videos are for those interested in learning and gaining new perspectives. I will never claim to know everything...just enough to hopefully teach others and enrich their lives.
And I think that is a very good and healthy perspective on things...some folks seem to think that just because somebody shows something on youtube he should be a perfect human being...
I like your videos very much and I think it speaks volumes about you and the quality of your teaching how you credited Reynosa Sensei for teaching you Uke Nagashi in the other video.
All the best for you and your family and greetings from Germany!
@kyushoaikiguy " I have 2 small children, a full time job and I teach 3 nights a week." Cut down on the martial arts.Your wife and kids will thank you. A friends marriage got divorced because he was as active as you. Think about your kids.
Both techniques seem functional, my only problem is shouting when you attack... even IF it somehow makes you hit harder, I would still not shout when I take someone out. Do you try to attract attention when you knock people unconscious?
I think from the point of view of tradition, the shouting is supposed to generate chi and galvanize the spirit. I suppose the modern day equivalent in a street fight is to cuss the other guy's ear off. Heheh...
This is very good blending with wing Chun Bong Sao (wing Arm) deflection as seen on cover of Bruce Lee's Fighting Method. the wing chun move usually ends with atemi or Back fist to the face, I have been working for over 10 years on a blending of Wing Chun and Aikido and these videos exemplify the interchangeability I have been working on. Good work,

too bad my bjj would smash both of u. i think aikido is cool though. i think ill learn it when im old and bored. for now ill work on my bjj black belt.
Thanks. I've been fascinated with Wing Chun but have never had the opportunity to train in it. Someday maybe I'll get the chance. In the meantime, I'm going to give aikido up so I can train BJJ like the dude below...Mr. Wadd1186. Brilliant comment Wadd. I realized a long time ago that bjj has a lot to offer so i took up studying it and have since 1994. Thanks anyway though.
wow im amazed how much uke nagashi in akido is just like bong lop sau in wing chun
